A Private RP between Jynk [Fao and Zia], & Roots of the Cosmos [Elst, and Aoi]. Location: The Elysian Gardens. Time: Early Evening. Weather: Mildly cloudy, fair, cool weather.
And I’ll try to actually keep my posts short this time, see if we can make this flow smoothly. :3

As another evening began to form in the skies above, the sign upon the Elysian Gardens Nursery’s gate turned to show it was closing time. It had been busy practically all day, plenty of customers, even a wedding arrangement earlier on. Elst was simply finishing up writing down the day’s records in the Lobby, a long list of transactions, business taxes, and dates along with corresponding times. Aoi was right next to him, an open bottle of sarsaparilla fizzing on the counter next to the appointment book he was writing in. Soon enough, they’d finished, and Elst stowed the log books in a filing cabinet in the storeroom. The gate was locked up, the records recorded, and all customers gone. Time to head in.

Faolan was a man on a mission. Well, technically it was an outing. He'd wanted to take both twins to see their Uncle Elst, but with Bel's broken clavicle still healing, he couldn't bring her and Faolan didn't think it would be fair to leave Elle with both babies while he went out, so he'd brought his son along with him. His son, his little man. There were no words for the pride he felt for the tiny infant with his bright orange hair and pale golden eyes. It didn't matter to him that Sam was blind, he had a son--one half of a set of twins.
He neared the Gardens and used the key Elst had given him to let himself inside, holding the gate open to let Zia pass through before shutting and locking it behind them.

As he exited the lobby with his father, Aoi froze for a moment, concentrating. “Dad…I think Faolan and Ziazan are here…” A glace up into the distance towards the gates confirmed his suspicions. Sure enough, there they were, and…Fao had a baby. The twins had been born! Aoi wondered where the other was, but saved that question for later.
Leaning heavily on his cane, Aoi hobbled over along the cobbled path towards the visitors, a smile on his face.

Faolan smiled as the two approaced. "Howway tha', Aoi. What's wi' th' cane, lad?" He knew the alter hadn't had it the last few times he'd seen him.
Zia tilted its head, watching Aoi. "Did you get hurt?"

Aoi frowned a little at mention of the cane, looking down at it for a long moment. “Oh, the cane…well…I kinda, uh, synched with someone, and his legs were really messed up, just thrashed…and I kinda absorbed all the pain and copied it into myself on accident, and, well…It never really left me.” He shrugged a little, before looking at Sam. “But…I see the twins were born, congratulations…”
Elst approached behind him. “Oh, good to see you alive and well, Faolan, yes, congratulations on your…son, yes, where’s the other twin, with Ellandra? He wore a welcoming smile as he wondered…had be bought beer earlier? He’d at least meant to, for when Fao visited…

"Ah, well, this'un here was in such a hurry t' be first, he managed to break his sister's collar bone. She's at home with Elle, yeah," Faolan answered, looking down at his son. "I wasn't sure it would be fair to stick Elle with them both. I'm used t' being surrounded by bairns from baby-sittin' so many, but Elle might get overwhelmed, so I'm lettin' her take it slow. It's just us lads out tonight."
Zia moved to give Aoi a small hug, sorry that its friend was hurting. As its arms went around the other, it gave a soft gasp, looking up at Aoi knowingly. "Have you spoken to the doctor about repairing the damage?"

Both Aoi and Elst wore expressions of surprise at mention of Bel’s broken clavicle, but not quite any worry because they knew the baby would be safe with Ellandra. Elst spoke up first. “Oh, that’s unfortunate…though I’m sure she’ll be fine with Ellandra... Nice of you to want to make sure she isn’t overwhelmed. What are their names, by the way?”
Aoi hugged his non-engendered friend with his one available arm, wearing a confused expression before recalling, Oh…it’s a reader, almost forgot, there… He thought for a moment before replying. “Oh, well, there’s nothing actually wrong with my legs, it’s the mental impression of the injuries that makes my brain think there’s all the injuries are there…Still hurts like hell, though.” He laughed a little, before continuing, mentally beaming his next words to Zia.
As for the one who I got it from…well…I keep trying to get him to let Dad or a doctor or someone to fix him up, but…he’s stubborn…

Faolan smiled at the question. "Our girl's name is Beltaine an' this little lad is Samhain--" Though he pronounced it "sow-een." "--but we call them Bel and Sam for short. Wanna hold him?"
"She could help with getting you to release the pain, though," Zia suggested, then switched to telepathy. I say let him rest in pain, that a**.

Elst nodded a little as Faolan mentioned the names. “And wonderful names they are, Faolan. Do they have particular meanings, or did you choose them just for the sake of them sounding right? And hold him? I would love to.” He smiled warmly at the infant.
Aoi thought for a moment. “So…you mean Doctor Lector or something, the lady who made us, or…? And, well…the pain’s coming from my magic, and that synching thing is probably the most powerful magic I can use, so…I’m not sure what it would take to undo it…”
His expression grew bewildered. What do you mean…? You’ve met him? Did he wrong you somehow…? He’d known Vin as almost like a mentor, after all…or something like that.

Faolan passed Sam over to Elst gently, the infant not even getting the least bit fussy, though his little fists waved about has he tried to sort out who was holding him now that the daddy-smell was not as strong. Faolan stroked the baby's bright orange hair. "Remember when I came t' see you some months back an' we talked about names? I tol' you about them then. Th' names are didikai holidays." He smiled up at Elst.
"Dr. Lector, yes. She probably would understand your ability and help you turn it back off," Zia said, nodding, then frowned. More than wronged me, brother. He tried to kill me when I was a proto.

Kind green eyes looked upon Sam as Elst held him close, but not too tightly. Yes, the daddy-smell was further away now, slowly being replaced with a soft smell of roses….with a hint of orchid. He was confused for a moment, however. “You’ve…told me?” His expression glazed with a barely noticeable look of horror, however, as he realized that his memory loss must have been picking up again. “I’m…terribly sorry, I…I don’t really remember details well at all. My memory does not last long.”
Aoi nodded a little. “Yeah…if anyone knows, it’d be her.” His eyes registered absolute shock, however, as Zia revealed Vin’s past actions. He…He what?! The Vin I know…would never try to kill you…what happened?! Would you mind if I just read the memory…?

"That's alright," Faolan said, nodding. "It was a while back an' really only mentioned in passing." He continued stroking Sam's hair, figuring his son might be slightly confused at the floral scents surrounding him. "He really doesn't know where we are. He's never really smelled flowers before."
Yes, go ahead, if it will help you understand that he's dangerous, Zia told Aoi.

Elst thought for a moment, an eyebrow just barely raising. Faolan kept mentioning smells, not sights… “Well, he’ll certainly be smelling plenty of flowers here, but…Faolan…I cannot help but notice that you mention only smells for Sam…Is he perhaps blind?”
Aoi took a deep breath, focusing on Ziazan’s mind, then gently allowed his own to flow into it, heading straight for the memory without reading other things along the way out of respect for Zia. After a long moment, he opened his eyes, understanding. So…he got you with that lightning stuff…It’s…it seems to be tied to him like an instinct, though, and from what I can feel of it…I don’t think it was voluntary…From what I know of him, it’s just become like…an auto-defense, or something like that…
Elst looked around slightly, noticing the darkening hour. “Faolan…perhaps we could head inside? It is getting dark, and I purchased a case of the same beer you brought here, last time…”

"He's blind, yeah," Faolan answered a little sadly. "Zia seems t' think he'll be alright. I mean, he'll always be blind, but he'll ain't gonna be missin' out on much o'er it. I think he maybe inherited my gifts." He glanced up at the sky and nodded. "Aye, let's go in an' crack open tha' case. You can get me drunk and steal my money." He gave Elst a playful grin.
Instinct or not, I don't trust him. He didn't use the . . . lightning thing on Lauss. He just broke his wrist. I don't think he did that by accident, either, Zia pointed out, frowning. It moved to follow the two men inside. There were thing's in Vin's head that were . . . and still are troubling. I think Banning should know that there is an Essentic unaccounted for, and he's hurting us--involuntary or not.
