Jonic the hedgehog umm thx very handy..... sweatdrop blame your dad for this. he was thinking of ways to pass information that couldn't be caught and understood by enemies. the dark elf tongue seemed a great choice. well, my family sure as hell didn't know it, but i started learning. then found that if i learn then my sisters will want to. annoi took to it pretty easy. i'm ok, but i tend to prefer common except on "special occasions." soldier..... i have no idea. you want to know more, kid, ask your dad. i'm sure he'll be more than happy to teach you.

I would be more than happy to teach you Jonic if you would like to learn. If you have a question about anything we say that you don't understand you can always ask too. You may hear some of us speak to eachother in the dark elf tounge, but we will most likely use the "common" dialect when you kids are around so as not to exclude you from the conversation. Both your mother and I speak the language, and I know your sister Josian speaks it as well. Your aunt Jisatsu can understand it, but it is up to each familiy member to choose if they wish to speak it. We will teach at least how to understand it.

In response to your question about the Dark Elf language, I have prepared some parchments for study.
Your sister Josain is beginning to learn to read and write the language, and is doing very well.
I encourage everyone to look over the parchments.
[I have added several lessons on a new sub-forum called "Dark Elf Language" I will continue to add new material as often as possible]
[[ If you know the "secret" to understanding the language, please do not reviel it yet. It will be shared with all, in time ]]

The Dark Elven language is a very interesting one, and there are two ways of saying "love".
Ssinssrigg means love, however it also means...well, lust
Che is a romantic word for love in the language.
So...Jisatsu, which type did you mean? *winks*
[ Told ya I'd get you back! Ha! ]

[ Told ya I'd get you back! Ha! ] actually, brother. i got the word 'love' from you... what was it you said? "i love my son." well, since i doubt you meant lust we'll agree you said love. i'm not romantic so i don't feel right using the romantic terms. *ears flatten* and if that was your way of getting me back for embarrassing you, we're going to have some problems...

Awwww... sweatdrop Ok, I learned my lesson, I will not try and "spar" with you again anytime soon. I "kyon whol" (care for) my son... there, how's that? Unfortunately, the language does have some limitations. As it does not have a full lexion of words, and the dialect tends to lean toward more of a sinister mood, which is opposite of our fair skined surface cousins' language who have an eaisier time expressing thier feelings for one another. But yeah.. thanks Jisastsu, for the burn. I'm still covering my ears when you're around.

Ok, * Slams a large old book down on the table* I had to search, really really hard for these * opens the large tome and shuffles through the pages * There are some ancient dark elven words that can mean "love" as well...
Tal/Tar : Love, pain, wound, wounded
Illiam/Im : Devoted, heart, love
As a suffix...
-olin : Ascension, love, lover, lust
-dra/-zar : Lover, match, mate
... And also
Akor/Alak : Beloved, best, first
So... have fun with those and note that these words are not often used in everyday speech.
