A Rainy Night
Vincent Jacob groaned and rolled over, his one visible red eye half opened in irritation. It was raining again. And from the sound of it, even harder than it had been over the past few nights. With a resigned sigh he pushed himself up and slipped his bare feet to the floor. With one hand he reached up to push the messy black hair from his face.
The small Noct weaved through the night, swaying from side to side with the force of the night wind. Her blue eyes searched out any sign of shelter as she moaned in feverish pain. She leaned against a tree as another uncontrolled fit of coughing threatened to cripple her yet again. If only she could find somewhere to wait out the rest of the storm or maybe even the night. In the rain soaked distance she could see the dancing lights of what promised to be a small hut.
It was soft at first. So soft he was almost convinced he had imagined it. He was ready to write it off as the wind when he heard it again. The faint sound of a pained moan. Slipping his boots on as quickly as he could, Vincent pulled open the door. Peering into the darkness he could make out the vague shape of someone laying just at the edge of the clearing his house lay in. He rushed over to her side. She was small and thin, almost starved. He blue eyes fluttered open and closed again as another fevered moan escaped her frame, taking with it what little shape she had.
Kait whimpered and opened her eyes, the strain almost to much. Over her floated a warm light and she could feel the soft feathers of a down mattress under her. In a chair next to the bed was an older Noct, his red eyes scrutinizing her. She couldn't decide if the emotion behind it was harsh or simply worried. "Where...am I? Who are you?" She paused and her eyes flew open even wider as she realized that other than her name, she could remember nothing before waking up.

A Quest Shatara glared at the man across from him. With a violent huff he spun on his heel and stormed out of the tent. Somewhere deep in his heart he knew that Kait was alive. It was as if she was right there beside him, her smile lighting up the small rebel camp. Growling more to himself than to those around him he ripped aside the flap to his tent. Throwing the few things he had into a small travel pack he turned. On the opposite side of the tent a few trinkets that he had managed to salvage hung as a vigil to the missing outcast. Somewhere out there she was alive but alone, and no matter what the stupid b*****d said, Shatara was going to find her. Even if it meant being branded as a traitor to his own family.
For almost a year he had lurked in every seedy place he could find. After all, if it were information you were seeking, there was nowhere better to find it. He had heard rumors recently, of a local Noct coming into the sudden companionship of a young girl that fit Kait's description. Even now he could feel the hole in his heart ache, but he refused to let himself get to excited. After all, rumors were only that, rumors.

Libraries Vincent called it a library. He said it held a million gateways to other worlds. All she saw were books. She really hated it when he did that. Made up stories. It wasn't lying, Vincent would never lie to her. It was just...using big pretty words to make her imagine things as what they weren't. With a sigh she started at one end and browsed through the books. She couldn't remember if she knew how to read well, but maybe she could have Vincent help her find out. Picking out anything that looked interesting she made her way through the room. What she really liked was the smell of the old leather bindings and well worn pages. It had spicy home-like scent to it.
Exire looked up in time to see the tower of books ram into him. As they rained down he could see the small Noct who had been holding them just a moment before. She turned an amazing shade of pink, a sudden flushing of the blood into the vessels near the surface of her face. He smiled sweetly and helped her up, before turning to restack the mountain of books.
"Quite the scholar you are. A little young I would think, but they say appearances are deceiving I suppose."
Kait accepted the hand gratefully as she murmured an apology. She wrinkled her nose as he spoke. A...scholar? Like an old person? "I'm not old!"
He stifled a laugh. "A scholar isn't necessarily old. It just means you actively seek out knowledge. I'm a scholar of sorts, though i prefer seeking out knowledge of blood. Its uses, its properties, how it works. You see?"
Kait cocked her head to the side trying to process what he had said. from what she understood, he sounded very smart. Maybe he would help her to read, or maybe he could teach her how to remember beyond the night she and Vincent had met. "You know a lot. I'm Kait."
He smiled as he examined the stack of books he held. Mostly fantasy and fairytales. She seemed to be a sweet girl. For a moment he wondered if a person's personality was affected by their blood. After all, there were thousands of unknown factors to blood. "Not alot if you consider all there is to know. I'm fairly knowledgeable though. I'm Exire."

A Discovery
Shatara had spent weeks watching her from afar. She was more beautiful than he remembered. It was obvious that she was well taken care of by whoever this “Vincent” guy was. Her skin has regained its tanned luster, her cheeks had fleshed back out and her eyes sparkled again with that mischievous glint he loved. His heart ached to walk up to her and whisk her away, to someplace where they could spend life undisturbed. There was just one catch, since he had found her, he had discovered she had amnesia.

A Friendly Drink
Sacred: *tilts her head at Vincent* Whatcha dooooooin'?
Vincent: I'unno. Just sitting here with nothing to do.
Sacred: Well, we can't have that can we? C'mon! Let's go find something to do, or someone to annoy.
Vincent: *Looks worried* Eh....
Sacred: *frowns* Or not. I guess I'll just leave you be then.
Vincent: No! No. Its just been awhile since I've had some free time.
Sacred: *smiles at him* Okay then~ What do you want to do?
Vincent: Not sure really. Know any good bars?
Sacred: *shrugs* I know that that Hungary chick's restraunt serves booze. Don't really know of any bars though
Vincent: Booze is booze. *Motions to the door* Lead on?
Sacred: *snaps off a sharp salute and exits the room to lead to Hungary's place*
Vincent: *Follows Sacred* You drink?
Sacred: I enjoy a good cocktail every once in a while, yes. *smirks* I don't drink to get drunk, though. I prefer sharing a few drinks and avoiding the hangover in the morning.
Vincent: No. That would be getting trashed. Its a wast of alcohol. *Grins*
Sacred: Ahh! Glad to hear you share similar sentiments. *smiles and pushes the door to Hungary's restaurant open*
Vincent: *Catches the door holding it open* After you.
Sacred: *smiles* Such a gentleman! *going up to Hungary, she requested a table and the owner seated them promptly* She's always so great with service, that Hungary.
Vincent: Meh. Its the way I was raised

A Tense....Kiss?
”WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH AN UPTIGHT a**!?!” ”WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE A WHINY b***h?!?” The two outcasts glared daggers at each other from across the destroyed room. It had been like this every day since he had moved in. For some reason the two could never find common ground. On anything. From laundry to politics. Neither one would ever admit that they were in love with each other.
”p***k…” Kait turned to storm out. Something in him snapped and he watched her retreating back with a softer gentler stare. How much longer could he do this? He wanted her back so badly. She was so happy though, with this little family she had created. Yes, it was her that had brought them all together. It was her charisma, her smile, her childish carefree demeanor that attracted them. He reached out and caught her arm, pulling her into him and planting a soft kiss on her forehead. ”…so sorry…..forgive me….love you….”
She hated him sometimes. Hated everything about him. But there was something about the way his eyes glittered when he was enjoying himself, the way he snuck looks at her when he was sure she wasn’t watching. She couldn’t deny that she was in love. So hearing those words, feeling his lips on her, it made her melt. She felt complete, whole, content even. "...love you too."

A Interesting Day in the Park
Sumi sat on the swing set a chocolate ice cream cone in hand as he just watched the world go by. He had a big smile on his face as he licked the side of it.
Jacob watched the boy with more than a little disinterest as he continued on with jotting down notes in a worn journal. Beside him a medical book sat open to a page depicting a very intricate heart surgery procedure. Not that he had interest in the art of saving lives. Rather, he studied in order to boost his knowledge of the weakness of a body.
Sumi hopped off the swing and ran over to the other boy. "Hello" He smiled a big smile. "I'm new here ay."
Jacob looked up with a stare of pure venom and acid. "Ay...what? Ay is a letter not a word." He growled doing his best to make it known that the kid was irrataing him. "That's nice. You're dripping ice cream on my medical book."
Sumi looked down at his ice cream cone, seeing the ice cream dripping down the side he lifted the cone up so he could lick it off the side. "Sorry," he said with a shy smile.
Jacob twitched not sure how else he could get his point across. "Did you need something? Or did you come over here simply to drip on me and disrupt my studies?"

A Tale of Thievery
Rafiel: "A wonderful night, tonight..." Speaking to himself as he gazes up at the sky with a smile. Young and looking for friends, lovers, and hopefully not very many enemies.
Rush perched himself on a low hanging tree branch as he watched people stroll through the park. It was late and most of them were getting in a last bit of excercise on such a nice night. To the pickpocket this kind of set up was of a dream-like quality. A once in a lifetime opportunity that he couldn't pass up.
Rafiel yawned as he watched the humans, nocturns, and half breeds head off onto other places. Watching them exercise and talk to each other, but he was alone on the park bench. "Maybe I'll get lucky and find some cutie to talk to?" He asked himself then sighed with a frown, "Who am I kidding? I'm not gonna find anyone."
The lithe theif easily picked out his mark. A lonely and distracted looking noct all on his own sitting on a park bench. With a grin he sashayed up and leaned over the back of the bench. "Nice night, eh?" Take it slow and strike when their attention was completely focused on something else. That was the way to do it.
Rafiel was startled by the voice, looking to see it was a nocturn like himself. "It's alright if you have someone to be with." He said bluntly as he slouched on the bench, his hands behind his head.
"You think? 'Cuz I say its a nice night no matter." He grinned and leaned over the bench to come about eye level with the slouching male. "'Sides. Being tied down ain't what its made out to be I 'magine."
Nodding in agreement, "Yeah, but having someone close does make someone feel better about being alone in this world." Looking up at the other with a slight smile. "I'm Rafiel, what could your name be?"
"Round here they call me Rush. I s'pose its good 'nuff." He let one hand fall limp near the Rafiel's pocket. Despite his name he was in no hurry and had all the time in the world to act.
" Rush, eh? Sounds like an interesting name for a nocturn, but Rafiel would be an interesting one as well." He joked with a chuckle and a smile. He was enjoying this nocturn's company.
"Odd. But sounds rich and formal. You come from royal blood?" His heart skipped a beat as he considered the idea. A royal? He'd eat for a month off of that. His face nearly cracked in half as he grinned.
Shaking his head with a sigh, " Not of royal blood, just a commoner." Rafiel would of loved to be a royal nocturn, not having to worry about money troubles. "What about you, Rush?"
"Me? Can't ye' tell? I'm just a commoner like you. Be nice though...." He trailed off as his smile fell a little slack. He shook the cobwebs from his head as he picked the grin back up. "So what do you do as a livin'? Other than lurk on park benches looking to all the world like you been kicked." He chuckled a little to let him know he meant no insult.
" I'm a automobile mechanic, working on cars and other forms of transportation. It's an easy job once you've learned everything that's needed. You can always pick up new skills while working too." He explained as he pulled out his work id to show Rush.
Rush watched carefully as he pulled it out in order to catch how tightly any money or valuables were held and at what angle. These were the most important things to pickpocketing. He didn't at all feel uneasy talking with and even sharing his name with his mark. Like they could track him. "That's neat. Wish I could learn somethin' like that."
" It's not that hard, Rush. Maybe I could teach you one day?" He offered as he put his ID back into his pocket. There were bills, coins, and a silver watch in the same pocket that Rush was looking into.
"Ye' think? I'm a little slow and thick headed when it comes to leaning stuff like that. Ye'd have to have a lot of patience." He let his hand inch a bit closer as he kept the conversation going and Rafiel's attention on him.

An Interestin' Tidbit
Rush: Betcha Raf would like that. Lots 'o little ones running around to keep him from bein' lonely!
Rafiel: Put a sock in it, Rush. *frowns* I can find someone to keep me happy.
Rush: *Stares at Rafiel* Make me hush. You're the one goin' off 'bout wantin' to not be lonely no more. Get knocked up then.
Rafiel: *stuffs a dirty handkerchief into Rush's mouth* That oughta shut your mouth...
Rush: *Gags and spits it out before tossing it at his head* t**t.
Rafiel: *glares at Rush* that's whatcha get for yappin...
Rush: *Glares and sashays over to him* You don't watch it and your mouth'll make you even more poor than you already are. *Taps Rafiel's wallet* Get my drift?
Rafiel: *rolls his eyes* Damn pickpocket...
Rush: *Grins wide* Heck yes I am! *Preens and poses* And you're my favorite target! Just to easy.
Rafiel: *chuckles* then I should learn to be a harder target then.
Rush: What'd be the fun in that?
Rafiel: The fun would be you not talking my money or valuables. *laughs*
Rush: 's no fun for me like that though! A thief's gotta make a livin' too you know.
Rafiel: *shrugs* Not my fault if I become more vigilant when you're around.
Rush: *Sticks his tongue out and pouts* You like the attention though
Rafiel: *grabs Rush's tongue* Not that kind of attention.
Rush: Wah kin' o' 'ten'ion ' 'ou wan 'en? [What kind of attention do you want then.]
Rafiel: *lets go of Rush's tongue* The kind that you can't offer.
Rush: *Scoffs* Try me. I can do anything
Rafiel: *snickers then laughs* First off, you can't be a woman and second, you won't stop trying to pickpocket me
Rush: *Catches his drift and turns pink before grinning* Maybe I can and you just don't know. And for your information pickpocketing is what I do! And like I said, you're my favorite target.
Rafiel: *blushes lightly, his ear perked up* So you would be a hermaphrodite?
Rush: Maybe. You never know. Have you checked? Or asked? *Chuckles* And what makes you think I have to be a woman or a herma-wassit to give you the kind of attention you want.
Rafiel: I find it kinda rude to ask about someone's gender.
Rush: And? Your point...?
Rafiel: *shakes his head* I'd rather be with women, but if a guy wanted to get in my pants. I'd have to be pretty hammered to do that.
Rush: *Grins even wider as he tucks away that tidbit* How hammered?
Rafiel: *feels uneasy* At least enough booze for me to not remember anything. And that's a lot of booze..
Rush: *Nods to himself* I see....
Rafiel: I hope you don't plan on getting my drunk and just having your way with me, Rush.
Rush: *Gasps in mock horror* Me? Never! *Does his best to hide an evil plotting grin* Getting you hammered to wipe you clean of all of your valuables most likely.
Rafiel: *rolls his eyes* Well that would just be lovely, since you took my silver watch...
Rush: *Hides the watch he's currently wearing* Watch? I don't recall a watch....
Rafiel: *shakes his head* I gotta buy a new one for work. I'm required to have one.
Rush: *Stops grinning* Really? *Frowns and points off in the other direction* What's that?
Rafiel: *looks off towards the direction Rush pointed* I don't see anything...
Rush: *Slips the watch into Rafiel's pocket and swaps it for the money in it instead* I 'unno. I thought I saw somthin'. Is tha' the watch you're accusing me of stealing
Rafiel: *blinks as he pulls out the watch from his pocket* I guess I'm sorry about that, Rush.
Rush: Damn right you are. At least you don't have to buy a new one. *Grins as a plan starts to come together* As an apology you have to go out drinking with me.
Rafiel: *sighs* Fine... how about Friday night? I'll have more money then.
Rush: 's a deal then. *Hums happily to himself*
Rafiel: *smiles lightly* Alright, we can meet up at the park. I know a nice bar we could go to.

Fat?
Kait poked curiously at her stomach. She had developed an increased appetite, and with it she had gained weight which was becoming noticeable. She frowned, worried that Shatara might notice. Even though he wasn't that sort of man, Kait had grown very conscious of her appearance since they had become mates.
Shatara smiled inwardly at himself as he noticed Kait poking at her own stomach. "Kait, is there something wrong?" He asked, wanting to know what she was thinking. "You seem annoyed about something."
She looked up guiltily, quickly dropping her shirt back down over her stomach. She grinned a lopsided little smile. "No. I was just thinking. Don't get mad at me for asking, but....would you love me even if I got fat?"
His smile became a little wider on the inside as he walked over to Kait. "Well, I have to think about this for a minute..." He said as he slowly walked a few circles around her, looking Kait up and down. "Hmmm...." Was his only reply when he stopped behind her, waiting to see her reaction.
She turned to try and watch him as he walked around her. Finally she wrapped her wings around her body and turned red and she peered intently into his eyes. "Well....?"
His smile finally surfaced as he wrapped his arms and wings around her. "Why would I think any less of you now? You are still beautiful in my eyes." He said as he kissed her forehead tenderly.
She nuzzled into his chest leaving a trail of tiny kisses. "Do you promise?"
He nodded into her hair, as he nibbled onto her ear. "I promise, I will never leave your side." This promise was very familiar to Shatara, he had made this very promise to her many years ago...
She smiled up at him with relief. "Then...do you think I'm getting fat?" She resumed poking her stomach again a little ashamed at having gained so much weight

A Day at the Park with the Triplets
The triplets were notorious for finding their way into trouble. Maybe it stemmed from their older brothers influence, or maybe from both parents being outcasts. Whatever the case was, they were good at it. Today was no exception. With Hunter in the lead they had wandered into a park. Though they didn't know it Jacob kept a close eye on them from afar. With a huge lopsided grin Hunter pointed to the swings. "S'ing?" Aurion nodded, causing his mess of hair to topple into his eyes. Rose simple slipped her hand into those of her brothers. Like a three headed noct they rushed for the swings across the playground, heedless of anyone else.
Kit had gone out to the park to get to know some others and to find some more things to get into. Her ponytails bobbed as she walked around the park and then jumped onto the marry-go-round and began spinning herself on it. Her ears twitched at the sound of others and she turned her head to see three others, siblings by the look of it, running towards the swings. She smiled around her binky and watched them. They seemed like fun. She stopped the merry-go-round and wandered over. "Play?" she asked with a smile as her bluish tail swished with a smile as she watched them.
Rose regarded her first as the other two fought over the higher swing. It was just like a couple of boys to argue over something that made them seem more important. As Hunter won [which he always did] Aurion turned to see why Rose was so still. He smiled at Kit and moved to make room for her to join them. "Sure. Can you s'ing by you'self?" He gave Rose a little push and she squealed in glee.
Kit smiled at them and took one of the open swings. "Yus i can s'ing fine." She said as she used her legs to get her going. She used her wings to help her get alot more speed. "My name is Kit. Yous?" She asked looking over the others with a smile. She was excited to meet some others who were about her age. She wondered if they knew any others who they could all play with later too!
Hunter simply stared her down as he walked back as far as he could with the swing before running forward and pulling himself up on to it. Aurion watched his brother before shaking his head and taking the next open swing. Rose smiled shyly at Kit. "I Rose. Tha's Aurion and tha's..." Hunter cleared his throat as he thrust himself forward farther with a huge beat of his wings. "I'm Hunter." He wasn't sure how he felt about the younger two being so friendly to her. After all, he was their leader, not her. He huffed, mostly to himself as Aurion cut him off. "Kit is a p'etty name."
Kit smiled at them as she used her wings to keep her speed up. She watched Hunter and smiled. "I like yous name." she said with a smile as she looked at Aurion. "Yous is nice too! An Rose is really pwetty too." she said with a smile as she watched Hunter. She didn't know why he didn't like her, she hadn't pulled any jokes on him yet, and wasn't sure she would, but he seemed to not like her.
Rose leaned closer to Kit as the two girls fell into sync with each other. "Dun worry about Hunter. He's a big meanie. Like ou' big b'other Jacob." She kicked her feet trying to imitate the other three as Hunter scowled at her and Aurion tried not to giggle. "Wha'd you like to play?"
Kit smiled at her and laughed. "Why he mean? And i unno...Mmm hide and seek?" she asked as she smiled at rose while they swung. "Will he s'ill play eben if he dun like me?" she asked softly as she peeked at him around Rose. She wanted to be friends with lots of people and didn't like that someone she had just met already didn't like her.
Rose smiled wider, something that made even Aurion scowl a little. "He's mean cus he's my big b'other. He likes to t'ink he gotta protect me." She tilted her head and thought about it for a while. She was good at hide and seek, and it would be fun to play with someone new for once. "We like tha' game!"
Kit smiled at him. "Oh yay! Then le's play! It would be lo's of fun!" she said as she looked at the boys. "Wanna play hide and seek too?" She asked with a smile as she slowed her swing with a flair of her wings. "Who go first?" she asked with a smile as she stepped off her swing. She fixed her hair and tie and smiled happily.
Hunter jumped from his swing, letting his wigs slow his fall. Aurion and Rose joined the two of them soon after. The three siblings shared and unspokn conversation as they unanimously chimed "You it!"

More fun at the Park
Inati: *Sitting in the middle of the park patting Eros on the nose happily and talking about nothing in general.*
Eros: *Listeing his ears perked forward eyes closed*
Rose: *Playing on the merry-go-round and squealing in joy as she starts to get dizzy*
Aurion: *Following a ladybug trying to figure out how it works. Not paying attention to where he's going*
Hunter: *Spinning Rose around, grinning from ear to ear* Fun?
Inati: *Looks up at the sound of squealing and notices Aurion that is about to step on Eros' tail.* Wait!
Eros: *Jumps at the sudden loud noise from Inati*
Aurion: *Looks up and jumps in shock* Wh...what? *Looks around* What was that for?
Rose: *Looks over and smiles. Climbs off of the merry-go-round and walks over to Aurion's side.* Hi!
Hunter: *Scowls and follows his sister.* Wha's with all da yelling?
Inati: *Hugs Eros' around the neck and points at his tail.* You almost stepped on Eros' tail and that would have hurt him. *Looks over at Hunter and Rose* Hello. Oh well... I was frantic and scared... I'm sorry.
Eros: *Soft chuff and licks Inati's ear tail wagging now*
Hunter: You didn' haff to yell. *Glare*
Rose: *Waves before her face brightens at Eros* Cute! Can I pet?
Aurion: *Pouts and searches for his ladybug* I lost it. *Looks up at Inati* Sorry. I was chasing a ledybug. I wanted to see what made it go. *Grins at Eros* He's neat!
Inati: *Hides more against Eros* I am very sorry. I really wasn't trying to sound mean. *Smiles at Rose* Sure, Eros is very sweet and loves new friends. *Shakes his head* I'm sorry too, for yelling like that. I was just so worried you were going to hurt Eros. But its ok.. I can help you find another one? I heard my mommy say something about organic life forms.. so maybe it works with organic stuff
Eros: *Sniffs at Rose*
