(( Group posting order. Chobi, 1/3 and Demo ))
The hyena had spent the night away from the cavern with a new companion she had just happened to run into. The worlds most pathetic lion she'd ever met. Okay, that was harsh, he had been human raised after all. It hadn't been his fault.
Still, the hyena worried for him. It was a wonder he survived on his own at all.
But no time to worry right now. Not when she was dragging the remains of the calf she had killed back to her den for Asa. Admittedly, Chane had helped by being there as back up. Also admittedly, Ylva felt Chane really needed to work on hunting.
The cavern was so close the hyena could almost smell her and Asa's mingled scents. Why she was taking this lion to her prized home, even she wasn't sure. She hadn't been sure when she stumbled upon Asa either. What was with her and pathetic males? Grumble.

Asadaki was getting worried. Ylva had never been gone this long before... and he could never quite shake the idea that something awful had happened to her whenver she wasn't around him. That Kavu had gotten her. That Dabiku had met her, and changed her mind... made Ylva finally see Asa for what he was, a failure. Or perhaps that Ylva had simply seen it on her own and left him there.
Or that this had all been some cruel trick all along.
But he waited and paced, wishing his wounds had been completely healed, or that going outside still didn't make him jittery. He wished he weren't so weak and pathetic... but he was. A coward, for all the gentlemanly ways he had shown for so long.
...But at least, because of Ylva and the way he felt about her, he was beginning to feel like his old self again. And it had been a long time since he had felt that way.

Chane was well aware that he was a pathetic excuse for a lion. He was trying though, that's what mattered, right? That had to be what mattered. If not why bother trying? He had to keep telling himself things would get better, become easier.
Ylva had already showed him great kindness, and despite her grumpy exterior she was doing it again.
He followed behind her carrying a leg from their kill. It had been her idea. Something about keeping him quiet. He didn't mind. Heck, she was dragging the rest of the corpse herself. This was the least he could do.
This was the best he'd felt in weeks.

Ylva was very glad for the leg in Chane's mouth. Chane was a sweet lion but he was a clueless lion. A clueless lion who had to many questions and Ylva did not have the patients to answer every last one of them. Ah well, the two would be home soon and Asa would have his meat.
Hopefully Asa wouldn't be to frightened by Chane. Most of her told her self Asa wouldn't be freaked out but part of her was worried. She'd kept a watchful eye on him so long. Asa usually didn't go out and socialize... as far as Ylva knew at least.
The den was in sight now. The hiding place just behind the brush, cleverly hidden to keep others out and away from her treasures. Ylva stopped and dropped her end of the calf.
"Wait here, this won't take long. Just.... make sure nothing runs off with the calf." Ylva gave Chane a nod, she was sure he could manage the task. He may have been pathetic at hunting , but he still was a lion. Critters usually didn't mess with lions, even the pathetic ones.
Ylva nuzzled a bit of the brush away and stuck her head down the cavern. She was greeted by the soft blue glow of the crystals, and the scent of Asa. This made her smile, this was home.
"Asa. Can you come up here ?" The hyena wasn't sure if he'd willingly come up or not. Chanes scent must of been all over her from traveling with him.

Asadaki was a little surprised. Ylva was with someone... no one he knew, he was sure of that. It smelt like a... what? A lion? It had been a long time since he had seen one of those... he wondered if it was a friend of hers. She didn't sound troubled about it. Also seemed like she had food with her.
"Yeah, sure... I'll be right up." He said, climbing up slowly, still limping a little. It would get better with time... but sometimes the old wounds still bothered him. They weren't even that old really.

At first glance it was obvious Chane had suffered more then his fair share of old injuries. As he looked about the unusual sway of his head betrayed his blind eye. Having strained his body in the chase he'd also aggravated an old wound in his leg, making him limp. His coat was mussed up and dirty. Ribs showing through above his painfully thin stomach.
He didn't seem all to bothered by it though.
As they reached the cavern he stopped and put down the leg. What had Ylva told him about her friend? He couldn't quite remember. It hardly mattered though. He was fairly certain that they weren't going to eat him. And really that seemed like the worst thing that could happen.

Ylva nodded and eyed him. He looked alright, for being with out her for the night. Alright, considering his injuries.
"Yeah, if it isnt safe then I'm a dumb a**. I aint no dumb a**," The hyena frowned, she was not a dumb a**. Sure, at one point in her life she had been naive, but then again who hadn't?
Now Ylva was a harden hyena who had grown to know alot about life... to say the least... if things went bad she'd knock some skulls together.
"Me and Chane brought you something to eat, come on slow poke." Ylva started off towards Chane and the corpse. Her frown remained.

Asa blinked. Ylva seemed to be in an awfully bad mood that evening. A sign that he should sit down, shut up, and not ask any questions. Those tended to set her off more than just about anything else he could think of... except him complaining about his life. Which he could do. In abundance. When called upon.
"No one said anything about you being-" He paused, shaking his head. No point in causing a fight. Go with the flow. Be a gentleman. Get over it. Good rules of thumb to go by really. "Thank you... for bringing dinner Ylva."
He glanced at the lion... who frankly, looked like he could well have been dinner. Not much meat on his bones though. He looked... well, the lion frankly looked like he was on his last limbs. Why had Ylva brought him back?
Stupid question. Ylva loved bringing home strays. He was a prime example.

Lowering his head he took a hesitant step towards Asa. The stranger smelt strongly of, what he assumed was, the still air of the den. He didn't get out much. Chane had been the same way for a long time. Hardly moving from the soft bed in the corner of his human's home.
His human had brought something into the home that alleviated the smell... what was it now? A flower of some sort. Come to think of it, hadn't they passed some on the way here?
He looked back the way they'd come. It wasn't far. He was certain he'd be able to fetch them and return without getting lost.
"Hold on," he said to Ylva before turning away and heading off down the path.

Ylva blinked at Asa and offered an awkward half smile. "You can thank me by getting better."
Ylva shifted on to her haunches and expected some sort of greeting exchange from the two, instead, Chane ran off. He had said 'Hold on' but still was a bit distasteful in her book.
"Ummm...." She watched the lion for a short period of time. Her attention shifted to Asa as she tilted her head. What was Chane up to?

Asa tilted his head a little, confused by the lion, who he watched slowly, "So... um... you have a new friend?" He askedm ooking back over at Ylva, not really questioning her about it... but confused none-the-less. He hadn't seen a lion in a long time, and the last one had been quite small.
"Is he... is he staying with us also?" He asked, not really sure how or what to ask. Ylva did like her strays, and he certainly wasn't about to complain. That would only start something... and he hated starting things really.
It wasn't gentlemanly.

(( @-@ I thought I'd posted...))
Chane ran back down the path. He'd seen it, he knew he had. It wasn't far back, but it had been a few steps off the path. He stopped every so often to sniff around. Even if he didn't spot it right away the smell was one he'd never forget.
Soon enough he caught the scent and ran off into the bushes to peruse it. The plant was small so he just pulled it up by it's roots before heading back.
Arriving back at the cave he dropped the plant down on the ground, grinning like a mad fool. He was pretty proud of himself. He'd been able to repay Ylva, if only the smallest bit.

Before Ylva could even answer, Chane had run off.
"I suppose not..?" She eyed him as he ran back with a strange plant. What the hell was that? "Errr, maybe then?" The hyena continued to eye the plant. She'd seen those around before but never had she gone out of her way to pick one. It was just a plant, what was Chane on about?
"... So mind explaining .... that," The female pointed with her free paw at the plant on the ground.

Asadaki sat down and tried to figure out what had just happened. Damn, the lion was fast... and he wasn't entirely certain about what the plant was supposed to be for. It was... well, a plant, something he almost never thought about. Never thought about actually, except maybe when he was thinking about getting Ylva something...
"Um... thank you?" He mentioned, trying his best to be polite. One was best of being kind-hearted after all. A gentelmanly action was it's own reward.
Unless you were him anyway.

"I... don't know," he admitted, nose turning a bit pink. "They used to bring it when I was in bed for a long time. It always," this lat bit he mumbled, as if it was embarrassing, "cleared up the air..."
What had seemed like a thankful gesture before just seemed weird now that it came down to explaining it. He stared down at the battered plant. Just what was wrong with him anyways?
