The air was getting colder and the nights were producing a frost. A strange green and cyan streaked egg shivered now and again against the cold. Even as the days were warm, the sun beat down reflecting in many shades of green one could imagine. The nights were still bitterly cold and the small life within that thinning shell felt lost. Cramped limbs sifted, rattling against the shell, itching to be released. He wanted out, and right now! Outside his near snug and warm quarters, another gust of autumn wind rattled the bare branches, ribbons of grown going mists snaked about, coiling around the egg in its icy coils. The colt shivered, where was his momma? Where was father? Where was anyone? Apparently all had left, leaving him to start out alone... Or would he?

The little Quetzil moved quickly through the brush. He was scouting the area for his companion, looking for females he could talk with. He really didn't know why the big creature liked these other big creatures like him but not like him. It just confused him. Even so he was compelled to help his friend. Suddenly he stumbled over something hard and the fire tailed Quetzil tripped.
A small growl escaped his lips underneath his skull mask as his head darted over his shoulder to see what he had tripped on. Egg. It was a green colored egg and he wouldn't have saw it if he hadn't tripped over the poor thing. An Egg? What was the egg doing here? What was it of? These were just the few questions which crossed the small lizards mind. Moving back to his feet he scurried over to it and lightly tapped on its shell with one of his claws wondering what could be in side.
He clicked his tongue once wondering if what ever was in side would hear him and respond.

The egg rolled just a bit within it's fluffy nest like structure as something tripped? Over him? The colt stirred, his face now pointing downwards, nose tucked between his fore knees. Well wasn't that just great? One moment he was resting comfortably, next thing, he was laying face down, limbs pressing into his still soft underbelly, oh what a pain. Still that was nothing to the tapping that reverberated about what space there was within the egg. Small ears pressing themselves close to his skull, the colt shifted once move, causing the egg to move entirely. The soft clicking sound was missed, but the colt gave a some what high pitched squeak as he tried hard to get the egg back to where it had once laid.

His head perked up when the high pitched squeaks came from within the egg. When it began to move his head tilted to the side. What intriguing creature could this egg belong to? Yet its scent was oddly familiar. He moved his claws pushing against the side of the egg as he moved to try to push the egg back up. It was a bit of hard work but he had managed to do so. He tapped the egg with his talon once more.

The pressure on his ribs relieved, the colt gave a muffled sigh within the eggshell. ears fluttering a little, the tapping returned echoing through the young mind. What was with all the tapping? Couldn't the creature on the outside leave him be? Surely his parents would be back soon and would chase it off. Another squeak came from within the egg, the colt's head stirred a little, a nubby horn tapped itself against the eggshell. But soon stilled as the colt calmed and fell silent itself. Hoping for someone to come and save him from the tapping, he was starting to get a headache, if that were even possible. Or was that pain coming from the cramped quarters he was now in? He didn't know, but soon, he knew, it would be over and he would be free.

"HellHound!" A loud voice could be off in the distance. The noise of something moving closer to the little lizards location could be heard. Stick breaking and leaves crushing under a large being.Hellhoud's head perked up as he heard the sound, he then tilted his head back down to the egg he had found. He then moved around it a few times before trying to pick it up. He lifted the heavy egg less then an inch off the ground before it slipped from his claws and he toppled over the thing. He had wanted to show his companion his prize he had found but that idea obviously failed.

The small colt within the thinly shelled egg squeaked as he felt himself being lifted off the ground. There was a bunch of swaying back and forth before he felt himself rolling? Coming to a stop, the colt was laying on his back, legs itching a little as he pressed against the new cracked shell. Wiggling some, the colt kicked at the shell, a piece went flying in one direction as a hoof popped out. Soon the other followed suit, struggling, hind legs flailing about some. What a comical sight to be had, with another crack, the top of the egg shattered releasing a slimy foal head that slipped back wards and landed on the leaf strown ground.
AIR! The colt took a deep breath in, eyes still firmly closed, ears stuck to the sides of his head. Freedom, it had to be, but he dared not look, at least not yet. It still seemed too bright after all that time within the dark soundless confines of his egg...

Hellhoud was on top of the egg when it started to hatch. When the hoof came out of the shell he was kicked right in the chin and rolled back off the hatching egg and then past out. His body lifeless next to the hatching egg.
"Hellhound, you little sneak where on earth did you run off too?!" Cadeyrn called out soon arriving in the clearing with the hatching egg. His eyes went wide at the sight of a newly hatched foal and then they trailed to Hellhound who was out next to the egg. To curious for your own good.. The monarch stallion thought to himself. Now all he needed to to was grab his little lizard and get out of here before the little thing spotted him.

The small colt felt certain vibrations of something else coming over towards where he was laying. Not that the creature that had been tapping on his egg not too soon before helped matters either. A magenta colored eye cracked itself open to take his first peek around the world. Lifting his now leaf covered head from the ground, the cold noticed that he was still half in his egg. Shifting his weight around, though not rolling onto the lizard that laid not too far from him. The rest of the shell cracked and gave way, thin knobby legs lay crumpled beneath the small colt's body as his head once more laid on the ground.
With a small sucking sound, the colt's ears unsealed themselves from his head, though they were indeed covered with leaves, the sounds of the new world flooded into them like a wave over the shore. Too much! Ears pressing back again, this new world was brighter and louder then he had expected, trying again, this time more slowly. The colt opened his eyes and lifted his ears to watch and listen, still it was a flood. Head turning, he had yet to see the stallion that stood not too far away... Where was mother? was all he could really think of as he was hungry!

Cadeyrn moved close to the little lizard and nudged the creature with his snout trying to wake him. He really didn't want to get involved with the newly hatched little one. They always seemed to be nothing but trouble. In all his efforts Hellhound still had not come around. Careful of the lizards flaming tail he took its arm in his mouth and began to drag the little lizard away. Come on, wake up already little lizard

The colt licked at his own lips, before an ear twitched. Someone was there with him? Someone that wasn't the small creature that was once tapping his egg. Head turning some knobby legs shaking as he tried standing, only to wobble sideways and fall back to the ground. As he did, the hooves of a larger creature. Magenta eyes blinked a few times before searching more upwards towards the owner of the hooves. It certainly wasn't his mother, or his father... Well maybe his father, he didn't know, all he knew was loneliness.
"Papa?" his voice came out as a high pitched squeak because of it being unused. "You my papa?"
The colt shifted around trying once again to get back to his hooves. Knees knocking themselves together, he looked around to see if his mother was around. Nope, only the strange winged male and the odd lizard thing in his mouth. A frown creasing his face, the colt looked worried up at the stallion. He was hungry, bit his mother wasn't there, what else could he eat?
"I'm hungry, papa" The colt squeaked, whining just a little.

Cadeyrn's mouth dropped open as the colt spoke. The lizard's arm falling out of his mouth. Great he had been found. What was he suppose to do, the damn thing was hungry and he didn't know how he should feed him or what. The sense of being overwhelmed came over him. Memories began to flood his mind, memories of his own childhood. Memories of being left alone after hatching, memories of finding others, memories of being cast away because of who he was. He had let himself forget his past, but now it was returning, and in full force. With that the large stallion fainted, his huge body collapsing to the ground.
It was at this moment when the little flame tailed lizard regained consciousness. The large 'thunk' of the stallion's body seemed to have woken him from that state. The little lizard gave a click of his tongue, almost trying to see if the stallion was alright. Giving a small huff after no reply the lizard turned to the hatchling. He tilted his head to the side at the colt. Hellhound moved to his feet and scurried over to Jadeyn pulling on his tail a bit.

Jadyn watched as the larger stallion looked at him as if he were some strange critter. Well, he wasn't... Was he? Surely not, looking himself over, Jadyn found that he looked normal, aside from the fact he didn't have wings like the stallion. Pouting anymore, he stepped shakingly over towards the stallion and nudged him with his snout. The larger stallion didn't seem to move before he looked down at the lizard like critter that was pulling on his tail. Head tilting to one side, Jadyn turned around and lowered his head towards the critter, taking a sniff of it.
"Who you?" he asked thinking that the critter could speak to him as any other. "You know where food is?" Head tilting once more, he watched Hellhound some, hopefully.

He tilted his head to the side his little flame tail flicking behind him. With a small click of his tongue, thinking on what Cadeyrn ate, would the little one like the same? He didn't know but it was worth a try. In away the little one looked like his companion, well in shape, but he was much larger then this green stripped one. Clicking his tongue once more the quetzil moved on all fours and scurried off gesturing for the small one to follow

Magenta eyes glanced back towards the stallion whom still laid out on the ground, he worried that he was not ok. But with an empty stomach and the growling only growing louder, he looked to the strange creature before him. Legs still shaking, wobbling more like it, he stumbled after Hellhound. Minding to not lose sight of the flaming tailed creature, Jadyn couldn't help, but take in the sights. Everything was just so... BIG! Stopping midstep for a moment, he glanced at the trees. Oiy! Did they have to be so tall? Shaking his head, Jadyn looked back to his leader.
"So you with mister back there?" he asked the lizard as if it could talk besides clicks and hisses. "You think he will be ok?"
