The ancient gypsy had told the caravan that he'd been headed for the small town of Fjike to sell his wares at their popular Harvest Festival, but was obviously detained by the river.
However, his problem is now the caravan's problem, as to continue north requires that we cross the same river that destroyed the old man's wagon and nearly took his life.
The river is formidable--wide enough for three wagons sitting end to end to fit between its banks, and deep enough to stand a horse to his knees in. It's also icy cold.
Valelldia has decided that due to the tricky nature of this river, each wagon may choose for itself how best to get across, and they'd regroup on the other side.
You have three choices:
1. Attempt to ford the river. 2. Caulk the wagon and float across. 3. Pay 20 couplets to take the ferry further downriver.

OOC: This will be a dice-rolling game. Make a post roleplaying your decision, and with the post action roll a 20-sided die. I'll let you know whether you've made it across or not.

(1. Attempt to ford the river.)
Decisions, decisions... Veshengo tugged on his goatee. Looking at Skellick and patting his neck, he nodded, "Alright...we'll do it. What's the worst that could happen?...we have nothing to loose!" Climbing up onto the wagon, he snapped the reigns and off they went.

(3. Pay 20 couplets to take the ferry further downriver.)
Ani sighed and sat down on the wagons steps, resting her chin in her hands. "I think I've had enough of being wet today...enough to last quite a while." From inside the wagon, Leshya'e laughed "Great minds think a like, I guess." Ani lifted her head and then stood up, "What do you mean?"
Leshya'e jingled the bag she had in her hand, then tossed it to Anezka. "We've got plenty enough to spare...let's take that ferry!"
"Alright!" Ani laughed and started counting out the couplets.

Climbing up onto the wagon, he snapped the reigns and off they went. The crossing goes well until about a wagon's length from the far bank. Veshengo hears a crack! and his wagon jolts left. With some quick reacting on the part of Veshengo, and brute strength on the part of his animal, they're able to pull the wagon to shore. But the left front wheel is completely destroyed, and the pieces go floating down the river.

(1. Ford the river)
Mekah made the decision to watch for a moment, his odds of making it across would be easier decided by the success of others. Resting his arms on his knees and leaning forwards he watched as one caravan made it through the water and another opted for the ferry. He glanced to Issiah on his shoulder and then to Covet. "Ford?" He suggested, 20 couplets was a bit steep for a simple ferry fare.
It was agreed, taking the reigns tightly in his hands he ordered the horse forwards, bracing himself for what might come.

Time to dry off and calm the horse while the rest of the caravan makes their way across.

Tsura had secured all her items in her wagon tightly and had Berit in her lap in case things got bad. She was just going to attempt to ford the river. Copper and Ink were big strong oxen and she was sure that they'd be able to make it through the river without too much trouble. Gisli could fly to safety as well so that was good." alright get moving" She called out to the orange and black oxen. A small silent prayer went out as they descended into the river.

Copper and Ink indeed are good, strong oxen, and they pull the wagon without much trouble. For them. The freezing water splashes against the wagon and rocks it, tipping it over and smashing the two right wheels against the rocks. The oxen snort and pull harder, but this wagon isn't going anywhere. Better do something quick before all your stuff floats away! ((Roll another 20-sided die, Lady U, for a saving throw. People who've made it across already can roll 20-sided dice to help. ^^))

For the moment Tsura was less concerned about her stuff and more focused on keeping herself from freezing to death and Berit out of the water. The crimson quail held high above her head was safe from the chilled river water for now. " Help" her cry was more frustrated than anything. sure she was scared but now she looked incompetent compared to her new family.
Gisli had taken to the skies the moment the wagon began to tip. The banya circled just a few feet the wagon though not willing to leave Tsura.

Heather along with Kala and Amkia decided to go downstream and take the ferry, of course Amkia being Amkia would have happily flown over to keep away from Kala but he had to do what his mother asks and so here he is along with his sister and mother, being somewhat grumpy. Kala though she wasn't happy in the slightest. She wasn't happy and she didn't want to go near water... it was water.
So to stop the arguing they had headed down stream and paid the 20 coins to go across on the ferry.

They pull it up onto the other side, scraping the right side of the wagon. The wagon itself is relatively unharmed, but the wheels of the right side are completely gone, and most of Tsura's home is soaking wet.

He smiles leeringly at the lovely Heather, takes her 20 couplets, and welcomes them aboard his vessel. He steers the craft across the river smoothly and deposits the gypsy and her wagon on the other side. He tips his hat and smiles again. He loves gypsies.
