Nothing made sense. One minute he had been in the Sunvilliage, leading his newly formed Jackleriders in a hunt. Now he was more wolf then elf it seemed. He liked it. four legs, better speed, good nose and ears still. He didn't know what happened, but he wondered if this was what it was like to be a high one, or to be Timmorn yellow eyes. It was amazing. And if it happened to him, it probably happed to all elves, right? The palace was really amazing. The first comers had been scattered, and now so were they. Did this make him a high one of this new world? He looked up at the single moon and smiled, wondering what Skywise was thinking of that sky. He scented the air and picked a direction to walk in. The Lodestone would help Skywise and cutter find the rest of them, but he could find some himself too. Then he'd be able to show his father. He could just imagine it, if the pack found him, and he had found the Sun villagers. He smiled a bit. This was going to be fun.

Ari cautiously crept through the strange woods. She had been out with her pack, hunting, and then suddenly she was here in these woods. Nothing smelt familiar.. and she had... hard paws and her body looked different. true she had always looked a bit different from her pack but now she looked more like prey and less like the hunter she was. She wondered if any of her pack was nearby and considered howling in question but she didn't want to alert any unknown enemies to her position.

A scent caught his nose and he grinned. Something smelled like wolf, and like his new scent. Grinning he slipped silently in to the bushes, following the scent till he saw the girl. he blinked. She was... so pretty. He stepped out of the bush quietly, intentionally making just a small noise so she would hear and not be startled, letting her catch his sent. *Shade and sweet water* he sent.

She spun quickly as she caught the scent and crouched down, growling a bit... which was not as easy in this new form. Pausing she took in his scent more *You're.. wolf too?* She didn't know him but he smelt like her... maybe they were the same kind of wolf before this happened.

"Wolfrider turned Jacklerider, now turned wolf, I guess. Well, sort of wolf. Not quite there yet. I think we're highones now. I'm Dart," he said, switching to speech, somewhat surprised to find that he could talk in this form. he smiled a bit. That was something his father might never discover.

She frowned *This isn't wolf.. this is prey. What are... wolfriders, Jackleriders, and highones?* She paused a moment *Ariana. My pack called me Ari.*

Dark grinned at her. "Wolfriders are Elves who bonded with wolves. But when humans burned us out of our holt and we crossed a huuuge area that was bad that I don't remember too well, then we came to the Sun village where there were other elves. Our chief, cutter got into trouble and mother, father, and the others went to help him, but the Sun villagers needed protection, so when the wolves left with the pack, I helped the Sun villagers learn to hunt and defend themselves. There half wolves in the mountains they called Jackles. We convinced them to let us ride. They're not as smart as wolves, and the bond wasn't as strong, but we worked hard. Then in the middle of a hunt, suddenly I was four legged like a wolf, and here. Look, theres only one moon."

She blinked and looked up *So there is. Odd.* She tilted her head thoughtfully *I remember elves riding wolves being near where my pack lives. We would hunt around the same time sometimes. My pack would always avoid them though. I don't know humans.*

She eyed him warily, having not relaxed this entire time they were talking *I suppose two wolves looking would be better than me alone. You can fight if there's danger right?*

He nodded once. "Yes. I have my sling bow, though I'm not sure how to use it this way. But Pike and Nightfall and my parents made sure I could fight no matter what. You?"

She looked a little affronted *Of course I can fight. I am pack leader. The Alpha.* She nodded to her dagger *I was the only one of my pack able to use weapons like this..*
