The clouds of incense were so thick that they appeared to take on corporal form. Rylxrya tucked her wrapping in around her collar bone as she stood back up with a tome in her hand. Business had been slower today that usual, but that did not come without it's perks. Her tent was in bad disrepair, with various macabre items littering the floor and stringing out of her trunks, so with begrudging sigh she set to cleaning.
She allowed no more than two candles to burn at once, so the musty tent was bathed in darkness. It's outer overhang was decorated in many of the surface worlds finest jewels, as well as those of her home. The inside was much the same. Though dirty, grimy and a bit cheesy, it had a certain air about it.
Or she liked to think so.
"Hey, now." Smiling, she pushed a skull aside on the surface of her trunk and exposed the large spider hidden beneath. It scuttled back underneath the object, or rather, it attempted to as she had one dark nail pressing on it's thorax. "If you go back in there, your likely never to find your way out again. Come with me." She held her hand out to scoop up the spider.
With the tome tucked into the crook of her elbow, the thin woman walked to the entry flap of her tent and pulled it open to reveal the circus beyond. She slowly bent down to set her charge on stone. "Watch yourself, or surely you'll be as damned as a drider." Rylxrya grinned.
She sat the tome out beside her with her hand still holding the flap open as she settled down to sit infront of her tent. Watching others was a bit of a past time for her. Healthy drow interacting with healthy drow without a thought as to what the future held for them. Of course, she would gladly read their fortune if they should so ask, but honestly, she preferred not to. Fate held more sway to a persons heart than anything in life and the wrong advice could send it spiralling out of control.
Rylxrya tugged her hood back across her eyes, tucking her hair away from her earrings. Today was one of those days that she could see herself napping away. She pulled her frail legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, making the perfect pillow for her head as she watched the crew from a sideways glance. Yes....a nap sounded perfect.

Hal was irritated, but then again that was pretty much a state of being for the necromancer. It was all Mer’s fault anyway. If he would just get lost then none of this would be happening.
I didn’t choose to be here Hal.
Shut up parasite!
Mer’s words had touched a sore spot, as technically their entire predicament was Hal’vyll’s fault. He was the one that had called the other’s soul and mistakenly placed it in his own body. It just rankled to know he had caused it himself. He narrowed his mismatched eyes glaring ahead at the bright lights of the circus.
He was feeling perhaps a little desperate that he would stoop so low as to come here for help. It just showed him how far he had fallen over the years. When Mer had first “arrived” Hal had been convinced he would find the solution to his problem alone without the help of any other’s.
It was just that….so many years had passed and Mer was still part of him….was growing stronger and Hal himself felt….weaker. The few struggles they had for control….well…when Hal didn’t want to let go and fought to hold onto his body he would be wracked with pain. Mer said it was that Hal’s body was only mortal although he may live many years and it was not equipped to support two immortal souls. The necromancer thought that the other was talking nonsense or at least that’s what he said. There was no way this side of the Underdark that Hal would admit the other may be right or have a good idea. It would imply some form of respect or understanding between them. The only understanding that Hal’vyll had was that he hated Mer and he wanted to get rid of him. Get rid of the soft and pathetic soul that was tainting him.
All of which led him back to why he was at the circus. He had heard that there was a fortune teller with them. He wanted to ask what she saw of his future and if maybe she could foresee whether he would ever be free of Mer….he was certain he would…definitely.
He just wanted to make sure was all. There was no harm in just checking.
Over there!
Hal looked the way Mer directed his sight without thinking before a scowl covered his features and he hissed out loud,
“I don’t need your help I am perfectly capable of dealing with this on my own.” The reply in his head was slightly tart from the other.
It was thinking like that, that led us here today. If you had asked for help earlier you may not have to come here now. You’ve only chosen this place because if you don’t like what is said you can pass it off as circus tricks.
Don’t speak about what you don’t understand!
His reply to the other was abrupt and filled with anger. He didn’t care to listen to what the other said. It wasn’t important. He decided to focus on his reason for being here and moved in the direction that Mer had indicated, but didn’t acknowledge that the other had helped.
There was a figure huddled up before the tent he was aiming for. Hal stood mismatched eyes narrowed before the small figure folding his arms fingers tightening around his staff. Did he really want to do this? He could keep looking on his own. He didn’t need reassurance that he would find a way to get rid of the other. He was positive that he would.
Completely positive….mostly….more or less….
He shook his head to clear his thoughts away focussing his gaze on the strange looking female before him who appeared to be taking a nap…that was how it seemed. Could he really trust her? Well…there was only one way to find out.
“I want your help.” His tone was brusque and there was a slight defensiveness to his tone as he raised his voice quite loudly to make sure that she would hear whether she wanted to or not. There was no way he would allow her to sleep through his presence.

Rylxrya neither wanted, nor did she plan to be awoken for many hours. Yet as she lay there her inner eye foretold to her that a most interesting case was approaching her. She could sense the war raging within the soul before even tapping into her powers. It was unusual to her and to say the least, strange.
She tilted her head to the side and pulled her hood back to look up at the rude young man. "A necromancer, are you?" The dainty drow yawned, though she didn't close her eyes or take them off his. "Very peculiar. All is not well with you, is it?"
After taking good stock of him, she laughed breathlessly and struggled to stand up, holding her arms out wide for balance. Though she wasn't elderly in the least, the youngling felt like it. Why, even her back popped as she straightened up, making her sigh and put her hand over it.
"First and foremost, I don't answer to demands." Rylxrya snapped, looking back at him as she grasped the curtain in her hand. "And I don't follow the command of an arrogant male who decides to interrupt my sleep. You may want my help, but you shan't get it. Good day to you sir." With that, she dropped the curtain, covering up her tent and her as she slipped inside.
It wasn't everyday that she saw a man with that much audacity. Still, he was interesting specimen and she felt remorse for turning him away just for that. And yet her pride stepped in. A fool was what he was, a damned fool. Why else would there be two of him?

Hal scowled at the fortune teller as she spoke, how dare she think that she knew anything about him.
She is a seer Hal.
Shut up you parasite!
He ignored what the other was saying to him because....well.....because! So she could see the future....that didn’t mean she knew anything about him..... Even Hal was able to tell how nonsensical his thoughts were, but stubbornness kept him from being able to admit that maybe the other had a point. He watched scowl still on his face as the fortune teller got to her feet.....she didn’t seem very steady at all.
As she spoke back to him Hal felt his mismatched eyes widen slightly....he had in his irritation with his circumstances forgotten that yes...he was a male and she was a female. He gritted his teeth as she went inside her tent turning her back to him. Well it wasn’t like he needed her help anyway. He could do fine without it. He could get rid of Mer on his own.
...because you’ve done so well at that so far on your own.
I told you to shut up!
Apologise to her and get her help or we will be stuck like this forever.
Mer’s voice help exasperation and maybe a hint of anger. Hal was ready to answer back immediately, but the last word echoed in his mind.
..forever... ....forever....
No! He couldn’t live like this. He had to do something about it! He moved stiffly towards the tent door speaking through it trying to be as polite as he possibly could, which was hard.
“I am sorry for my rudeness..... I am as you have said a Necromancer and I have need of your help. I took out my irritation at my situation on you which is inexcusable. Please forgive me.” The very words burned as he said them, he did not apologise for anything, but this was the only way. He needed her help. He was not so far gone with his belief in his own importance that he thought himself above Lloth’s rules. He must show proper respect as a male speaking to a female especially when he had come here for help.

Rylxrya frowned over her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around a tome and sat it within her trunk. She lived in a world of black and white, where second chances weren't readily given. "Appologies are the words of fools who too ignorant to see the gifts infront of them before opening their mouths." She snapped at him.
The spindly drowess maneuvered over to her crystal ball and stroked it's surface with dark fingernails. Within she saw the turrents of time bending to her call, showing her things that it chose not to show others. When she'd meant to carry on it shocked her.
You felt it too, didn't you? She questioned, looking down into the depths. Her skin tingled.
Rylxrya whipped her head up to look at the tent flap. Out of all the mental cases she had seen today he was by far the worst. And the most infuriating! Taking a deep breath, she sighed and sank down into her chair.
"However, since you have come for my aid I will not turn you away. Promise to behave and you may enter." Lloth wouldn't show any mercy to an out of line male and she had no great desire to see anymore Drider's walk this plane.

Hal had to grit his teeth as the female snapped at him and take a deep breath with Mer for once staying surprisingly quiet within him. Maybe he realised that now was not the time to push the Necromancer. He already had a thin grip on his temper and losing it with the woman before him was definitely a no go. If he did then he was likely to lose any chance at gaining her help with his little......problem.
That's one way to refer to me.
Hal ignored the snipey voice in his head focussing on the female before him. He watched her as she moved over to the crystal ball on the table wondering what she could see in there. It made his skin crawl to think she could see into his future. He didn't like the thought of someone knowing more about him then he did. He wanted to see his future too.
That's why we are here.
I know that!
His tone was tense and his attention was still fixed on the seer. He bowed his head at her words his tone formal,
"I promise that I will....behave myself." He stepped forward carefully eyes sweeping the room. He wasn't quite sure what to do now that he was here. He felt very out of his depth, "Er........so might you be able to help me?"

Rylxrya contained herself from snarling or even rolling her eyes. Instead she gestured to the seat infront of her table. "Have a seat then."
Though her crystal ball enhanced her visions it did just that. Enhanced them. She didn't need it to see the stronger things and debated setting it aside for this such project, but seeing as she didn't intend to tackle it on charity she figured she would keep it. So long as he imagined she was a fortune teller, he would pay her as such.
The depths of her crimson eyes drank him in. Rylxyra sat back in her chair, gathering the great folds of her robe around her. "You have a complicated situation so I would like for you to be specific with your request. What exactly do you seek of me or are you aware?"

Hal'vyll took the seat she gestured to a little gingerly seeming ill at ease here. He squinted his mismatched eyes at her crystal ball as though he thought that he may be able to see his own future lying there if he looked. The Necromancer laid his staff down the cool feel of it beneath his fingertips soothing to him. She knew his situation then so he could be certain that she had some power, but would she have enough to do what he wanted? Well he was about to find out.
A splitting pain shot through him and he had to blink rapidly as for a moment he felt a jerking sensation sideways as if his soul were being replaced by Mer's. The feeling was so quick that he didn't quite know how to react, but for once didn't push against it. Mer was the one who pulled back and Hal was surprised. He had always been convinced that the other soul was trying to steal his body from him, but......it would seem he may have been mistaken.....perhaps.....
The Necromancer blinked again seemingly slightly stupified for a moment before he pulled himself together sitting up straight and stiffening his spine.
"I have as you said, a ....complicated situation. I came here to see if you would look into my future for me. I wish to know if......if I am able to find a way to rid myself of the other soul in my body. I have been searching for a long time to get rid of this....this.....parasite." His tone rose slightly an angry look in his eyes as he spoke of the other soul within him, "I do not wish to lose my body to his clutches."
I do not want your body......I truly do not....I wish there was a way we could lay me to rest that did not endanger you.
Mer's tone was apologetic and soft in his mind just brushing against his own thoughts before retreating and for once Hal didn't know how to respond. It might not be a lie......he couldn't be sure. He had never trusted the other, but.....he hadn't taken over his body before when he could have.....what was he to think?

Rylxrya had just settled when she lurched forward, her hand outstretched before she realized what she meant to do and pulled it back. She chewed on the inside of her cheek to stay neutral.
The Seer nodded and closed her eyes, opening her mind to the forces at work. She frowned, her piercings distorting her face. Everything was wrong here. In any direction she probed, it was met with pain. Rylxrya's breathing became more ragged as a cold sweat broke out on her skin, her movements jerky and forced.
"If you are sure in your path, it matters not with fork you take, for your life will end in one truth." An audible snap! resounded before the crystal ball split in two. She fell back, her hand coming up over her chest as she looked in horror at her prized posession. Though weakened and pale, Rylxrya reached forward to cup the halves in her hands. It felt as if the darkness would swallow her up at any moment. What she had seen....was not meant to be seen. It was that which always made her ill. She couldn't, wouldn't, look up at the man because the visions still rolled through her.
