A breeze came to life and gently weaved its way about the cloud patterned blue of the stranger. It brought with it the scent of others, almost a pack. Ebony nose twitching like mad, the wolf's two-toned eyes darted this way and that as if in fear. His nimble tail wrapped about his heaving side.
"No, no, there is no worry," the deep voice of the wolf uttered. The tail seemed to relax, its snake-like markings seeming to relax. The adult let his girth drop into the tall grass. He watched the bottom of the hill in interest. He thought he saw a small form in the plain.
"Be still," he Taishan urged his twitching tail in irritation. If it was a stranger, he was not sure if he wanted to be found.

 Eden danced amongst the grass with chipper sounds of mirth. The pup could easily distract herself with a game on her own, and when she wandered away from her family of females (plus the one male that mattered most!) she concocted these strange rules for her own enjoyment. Currently she was a princess gone rogue from the evil dragon and was making as many tracks from the castle as possible. Maybe she would meet a chivalrous knigt if she tried hard enough? After all, pups could grow from the grass if yo ucalled loud enough!
"Doooooooth my eyes decieve me?" Eden cooed, spying a very blue form lying amongst the green. "It's a prince! Or a knight! Or a peasant! Mr. Peasant Prince Knight, sir, over here!" She pranced over to go greet him, as Eden had no fear of strangers when she adopted a persona beyond her regular one. No, normal Eden would be terribly shy around the older male . . . but an escaping princess? Curious adventures couldn't happen if she was shy little Eden after all! Yet-
"Oh no, a snake!" she exclaimed, stepping back ocne she was too close, ears docked. Though still in the act of playing, the idea of being near a snake, well, rattled her heart - minor pun unintended. "Quickly! Move away, sir! It's the dragon's spy!"

Taishan had watched the strange pup lope almost all the way up to him. He silently cursed his blue fur and the fact that it was impossible to hide in the grass. His ears went back as she called to him.
"Prince or Pauper? Shall I choose?" he asked his long tail, which had snaked around him. The tail just stared. Until the pup called out a warning.
"Snake? Spy? Nay, this is my dear advisor. Does every prince not need an advisor?" he asked the pup raising to his feet. The wolf with the holy pattern on his side almost seemed to be holy in that one moment, with the sun's rays behind him. He dipped his head into a bow.
"Princess," he sighed, allowing himself to play along.

Oh my. . . Eden looked up at the tall wolf with wide eyes, dazzled by the unique fur pattern: literally a picture painted upon fur! Clouds and incense and a bright pink flower and pure blue sky and two tone eyes and . . . a snake. So curious, even if the snake part wasn't so likeable! "So sorry, Mr. Advisor, sir!" Eden apologized quickly, ducking her head into a bow as well. "I'm a princess on the run. Has the dragon been tracking you too? We can run away together!" Well, at least until sunset; then she had to get her butt home!
Grass rustled behind the male, and Eden's ears flattened as her heart fluttered with surprise. "See!" she cried, "it brings danger to us now!"
Adam was unaware of this game until maybe a few yards away, minding his own business while trying to track a particularly bright butterfly. When Eden shouted, the pup turned his head, black eyes unintentionally boring into hers, and the other pup gave a squeak and hid behind the adult's limbs. To Adam, the adult was far easier to see, being vividly blue, but the other pup . . . not so much. She was darker tha nthe surroundings, but that was it.

Taishan saw the little pup cower behind him. He looked deep into the blackeyes, like staring into the deep abyss. A shiver of discomfort ran through him as those black orbs regarded the female with fear. Thinking on his paws, Taishan leaped over the girl.
"A prince I may be," he growled, "But a dragon prince am I!" He began to chase the famale with no real regard to the male pup that set his fur shuddering and shivering.

"No! Not a Dragon Prince!" Eden cried with mock fear, though her real self-consciousness over being watched by those two black eyes showed in her demeanor as she fled from the adult. But was that just bias speaking, the pup's own anxiety about males ruining her game? She didn't want to exclude the poor boy in any case and eventually leapt behind the multi-colored pup, squeaking, "Save me, O Monster of the Forest! I can't escape the dragon's clutches!"
What she got was a quiet snarl as Adam glared daggers at her for some reason she could not begin to fathom. The darker she-pup quivered and stepped back, ears docked and tail tucked. He merely took a deep breath and puffed himself up to become larger, showing his dominance. He didn't play silly games, especially not with adults who couldn't act their age and girls that got scared of plain old eyes or snakes. Adam had his own personal prejudice against those that disliked his blackened eyes.
Ooooooh, but who would save her now? "I-I'm sorry!" Eden yelped, wondering if perhaps she had tread on the otther pup's toes on accident or something, the way he was merely glaring at her without a word all the more eerie. "If I surrend m-myself to the Dragon Prince and his monster friend, let me live!"

"You!" Taishan yelped standing inbetween Adam and Eden, "You who are pup but not pup, I shall fight you if you dare raise a fang against youth and its whimsical ways! The winds of change have not crossed us yet, if we fight the wiser shall win!" His snake/tail swayed behind the larger wolf as if ready to strike. Taishan's mis-matched eyes glared back into the abyss that was Adam's. He never knew a pup as strange as this, as dark feeling as this one.
Nosing Eden, Taishan made sure the young femme was all right. No harm seemed to have been brought onto her. Taishan did not relax though. A breeze fluttered through the feild causing his beads to clatter together. An omen.
"Is fate saying change is neigh?" Taishan breathed to himself, his ears going back as he locked eyes again with Adam.
