Just another day in the greatest pride he has come to know as home. With the family growing up, the siblings spreading out some, this one has moved nowhere. Just a ways from where he was born, the very den, a thicket of tall grass had risen sporadically surrounding a large baobab tree. The shade had caused the grass to stay low around its base, but it was the inhabitant that kept it flat and smooth to rest upon. This tree was his home. The grass was his walls and his protection. Inside this fortress was himself a his charge.
Up in the tree, Uzuri'Odhran, a vibrant green-white lion gazed out of his home, his fort, into the open savanna. Families of zebra and elephant, gazelle and cheetah, roam about their day. Hunters hunting the hunted. Families living in peace with the predators. It was the way of the Pride Lands; only take what one needed and let the Circle of Life continue. The leaves and grass waved with each gentle breeze that rushed across the open lands, the arid air of Africa making it obvious that it could become uncomfortable in the sunlight. That was what made this spot the the best. The tall grass would move if anyone was in it, from where he was, he could spot any intruder. This tree was an amazing thing to have, especially growing up, but now that he was a full fledged adult, Uzu was finding it a little harder to climb it. Needed more strength for the mass he had picked up over the moons, plus, the mane was starting to irritate him. Still, it was a good life. Family nearby, a friend that kept him company, and a safe shelter.
However, what he wondered about and missed most was the Goddess he knew. A dear friend. Since his encounter with Kinari, he hasn't seen her around. Where did she go ....
With a reluctant sigh, Uzu tilted his head over his shoulder to look down below, toward the roots of the trunk, not seeing the darker green female about, worry slowly sunk under his skin. She was out of his fortress. Was she hunting? Was she drinking? Was she alright? Questioning her wellbeing, he did the proper thing to look around the savanna from his viewpoint. He shouldn't push himself into her space ... he must wait until she returned.
From first meeting her, she was a troubled female. The scar upon her face. The story of her past. It was not something he wanted her to remember or relive... this was her home she could return to, a safe place and a friend.
But...
Where is she now?

Take me to him, the female had asked her. It was strange, seeing such wings on a lioness, though now she knew this sort of thing was true as true could be. She nodded and began leading the black and red lioness down the path she had just taken, she was going to go hunting, but the emotion in the female's eyes said that she needed to do this now, needed to tell Uzu something. Kijani knew she loved Uzu, though it was unspoken, but this female was not a female from his aast, a dear friend, and she wondered what tormented this female so.
"Wait here," she said over her shoulder and she walked down the hill to the tree, saw the familiar green up high and she smiled, "Uzu, someone is here, you must come down," she spoke simply, and waited, sat and turned her attention to the hill where the dark figure stood, waiting. She nodded that way and stayed quiet, something was afoot but she could not grasp it.
"Uzu,quickly now something needs to be told, she told me to bring her here."
Ryu'Rage had only asked something simple, and a simple response and gesture she received. She wondered if he would hate her. They had been friends for so long, since he was a child and she was older than he would ever be. Her ears folded back as she walked, realizations through her mind, would she see him again before- no, she couldn't think of it. Times were here when things needed to change, a new generation was on the way, Nix was with cubs again and this place was not the home to stay in, they had brought so much immortality into the lands it seemed they should move on and hope for the best.
"I thank you," she spoke almost silently as they walked along, and as she was told to wait, she did and watched as the female called up into the tree, movement there and a faint smile crossed her maw.
Oh how it used to be.
Then she walked forward and stood several feet from the base of the tree, sad expression in her silver eyes. Would he hate her, would he try to stop her?

Uzu perked when she saw a figure loom over the nearby hill. Picking his head up with a smile, he watched with careful eyes as the green lioness made her way down the hill back to their shelter. It was her words that turned his smile into an expression of concern. What was it that required him to come down? Who was here to see him? Was it his father or perhaps another one of his siblings that had travelled far just to say hello. However, it was the voice of urgency that got his attention. With a nod, Uzu got to his feet and carefully climbed down, rear end first. As usually, the male slipped and landed on him rump with got little response but a pout and a whine.
"What is it, Kijani?" He questioned softly. It wasn't long ago until he spoke full words rather than fragments and his soft mew. Her? Who was 'her'? He knew many females; kijani, his mother, and his sisters. Who else could it be? And it was urgent too. Looking past her toward the hill, he saw another figure standing there. Too far for him to see, but it was dark. Perhaps it was just the distance that faded out the color of the lioness, but still. It was someone who had come to see him. Being the male, he turned to Kijani and nudged her softly.
"Wait here."
It was with closer inspection from a distance that he knew who it was. He stopped as he watched.
"Rage?..." he murmured, carefully taking cautious steps closer to her. Where has she been? Why did she decide to appear now? Was it because he was thinking about her? He had long forgotten her powers, did she appear where rage lingered? He was not host to any rage. He certainly hoped that Kijani did not host any either, but it was plausible with her past for rage to be born from that male. But ... why now?
"It's... good to see you again, Rage," he spoke softly, looking at her. She seemed lost in though, sad almost. But why? had he said something to her? Did the encounter with that b*****d instill something that cause worry?
The Pride Lander turned his gaze.
"Where have you been?" he questioned sternly and a slight snarl to it.

The female that was green seemed to be far from this now, and perhaps it was for the best to not involve this and make it a lover's quarrel for some reason. Ryu'Rage watched him move, him speak, and him almost snarl. She gave a sigh and her ears folded back, "There is so much to tell, but such little time now," if she was mortal, and his elder, he might think this was goodbye for the last time, that she was fading like her mortal children would do one day.
"I've been with my family, but now, everyone has grown. The twins and first born have since moved to another pride, born of fire, my other daughters lay somewhere in wait. Nix will be having another litter soon, and we cannot stay," she swished her tail, watched him.
"I can't stay either, its become more difficult for me, since they've gone, harder for me to concentrate, but they are my family, the past that can move on and still be there day by day. You are a part of it to, don't doubt that, but I can't endanger you, this pride, we have to go, but I could not go without saying goodbye to you, please understand." She never meant to hurt him, ever.
"And this isn't the last you'll see of me, I'll come back someday, and you will be happy, that female," she motioned to the green one in the distance, "is quite fond of you, you will grow an have a family of your own, and one day I will see their small faces and glowing eyes in the sun."

Uzuri'odharan watched the large goddess with interesting curiosity. So it seems like she was leaving, something he had long expected to occur. She was a Goddess, her duties pull her places, it is no doubt that she would have to leave the Pride Lands eventually. It is a little sad that she is leaving and that he was sitting her getting her good-byes. The green male smiles at her as she speaks of her family and Nix having one as well. So she found someone very special! His heart grew happy, pushing against the sorrow that was sinking.
Od looks over his shoulder to Kijani. From here he could hardly make out the scar that marks her face, making him smile to himself. He did indeed feel attracted to her. He was living under his fortress and he did become worried whenever she disappeared. Placing a paw over his chest, he wondered .... was it love that he was feeling?
"Even so, Rage ... I wouldn't know what to do with her to even start a family," he murmured, still looking back to Kijani. She was fond of him too? They would have a family ... and one day Rage would return to see them again. What do they do? Then it dawned on him how ridiculous his comment was.
