The very large lioness lay in the shade of a few scant trees. She didn't feel the heat, which would probably be unusual for any other lion. She was opulent in nature, larger both vertically and horizontally than most lions, plus she was blacker than the ace of spades though her back glistened with white tattoos that shimmered magically, or so it would seem..
She was clearly pleased with the day as a whole, a smile dressed her maw, a smile as wide as her very pudgy face. A purr rolled over her maw as she shifted her large form, her paws appearing only for a moment as she moved herself flashed with gems, she was nothing if not consistent, she liked her things and everything upon her was hers. They were her things and she loved them perhaps more than was sensible for a normal creature.
She was no normal creature though, she had always been Ubuge, the goddess of greed.

The black and white hare had been frozen in place for some time. She had watched as the large goddess lay down and started to relax, wide eyed she had wondered if she should just run and be rid of the frightening creature, but for once in her life, she was too frightened to do anything. Usually, she would turn upon any adversary, she would happily go and attack the source of her problems then run. This though, this was a god, her only real fear in the world. They could do anything even hurl thunderbolts at you.

Ubuge looked out at the long grass and smiled. She had known for a while that the proud hare was laying amongst the grasses. With a swift smirk which she quickly wiped away she called to the white and black lapin "You can come out dahling, I am a goddess, I do not need to eat and i have no need to destroy you." She purrs, a low, rumbling purr which echoes around in her cavernous chest.
Dark piggy eyes watched the hare waiting. She had a feeling this one would not be able to resist an invitation, even from a goddess, a god she clearly feared.

The pale hare was unable to stop herself from going. Fear was one thing, but being too afraid to approach someone whom invited you was another thing entirely. Straightening for a moment, she looked sidelong at the very large, very dark goddess before she raced out and stood, tall as she could, her paws resting upon her belly as her black ears swivelled about listening for ambush.
"I didn't think a god would want to speak to a hare, I always thought you guys were more interested in the big cats." She stated, it was a partial lie, she had wanted to run in the opposite direction of the goddess, as far away as she could possibly go, but her pride had kept her rooted to the spot and now she was stuck here, conversing with something she didn't understand.

Ubuges' dark eyes rolled over the hare. Hares were small things certainly, but they had their uses. They made good spies. She had long ago decided they made good spies, snakes were good spies too. She was getting side tracked with her own thoughts. A smile graced her maw.
"My name is Ubuge dahling, and I am an equal opportunities goddess, after all, everyone can greed." She chuckles, waiting for the hares reaction to her domain. Everyone reacted differently.

Induna's nose twitched as she watched the goddess in a half worried manner. What was it that she was supposed to do around a god besides be scared. Equal opportunities goddess? It almost made her laugh but she quelled the feeling. Sure they could smite any body even a hare.
Greed? That explained it. Induna gave a little snort and wriggled her ears "Everyone has to at some point in their lives. You cover a lot of ground with your domain."

Ubuge looked at the hare "You're very astute my dahling. I do indeed, and you, do you greed for something in particular?" She raised a curious brow at the pale, black marked hare.
"Or have you given up those ways hmm?" She knew the answer to that one, she always knew the answer.

Induna gave a little smirk. "Call me Induna, goddess, and yes, of course I greed, but not for anything you could provide." She smiles looking over the big, dark goddess, absorbing the sight of her in all her huge proportions.
"I'm perfectly happy just to want, I don't want enough to make a deal with a god. My father told me of hares and their deals with the gods, they never end well."

Ubuge's dark piggy eyes sparkled in her thick face and she gave a smirk. "Your father sounds like a very clever creature. Not all gods are out for number one you know. I could offer you such, wonderful things in exchange for so little."

Indunas ears gave an involuntary twitch at the goddesses offer. Shaking her small head she clicks her tongue "No madam, I desire nothing enough to owe a favour to a god. I may look like a foolish rabbit but I am a proud boxing hare, I desire nothing in this world but my wits and my life."

The dark, bulky lioness, stared blankly at the hare for a moment. How strange it felt to be thwarted by something so small. She knew, if she wished she could force herself on the hare and take her tiny little life, but she almost respected the little thing for standing up to her.
She had always been a formidable force, a force to be greatly reckoned with, perhaps she was loosing her touch? She felt simple surprise at being told no by a hare. "You are indeed proud Induna, perhaps you do not belong in my domain after all. The god of pride owns you, you should beware him too, pride is more of a killer than greed."

Induna gave a little noise, not of annoyance really, but she looked cocky for a moment. Perhaps these gods were easier to be around than she thought.
"Aye lady, I might be proud, but it hasn't done me any harm yet, when it does, I'm sure I will be ready to go. After all if we can;t follow our own personalities, what can we do?"

Ubuge gave a quiet sigh moving ever so slightly sos he was much more comfortable in her seat, so to speak. She gave a little toothy grin and a nod. This was going no where, it was time to have a nap before she moved on to more ample prey.
"Don't say I didn't warn you dahling, now, off you go little hare, feel proud that you have faced the goddess and walked away un-harmed." She gave a snort of a laugh and closed her dark eyes, half wondering if she would seek out this hare another time for another go at her clearly strong soul. Perhaps, but that was her perogative.

Induna took a quick look about. Apparently, she had indeed survived a goddess without even a scratch or a mark on her soul. She gave a grin and a quick nod to the goddess of greed, her deep chocolate eyes smiling proudly.
"I'll take your word for it lady, fare well greed goddess, may your journey take you to the places you wish to be." Batting a hind foot on the ground, she bounds away with a stomp, her ears occasionally peering up over the tops of the grass stems.
