I was reading LKH's blog and she released that the short story that she wrote before she started on the new merry book is an anita novellet called "Flirt". She said that it should come out between january and march of next year and that the next normal anita book is schedualed for around july next year. Newer blog posts make it seem that through the editing process that she's added almost enough pgs to make it into a full size book, no clues as to what it focuses on though

I am excited about the novella, short and sweet and makes it easier to wait for the next novel. I wonder what is it about. It'll probably focus on one of the men. I hope it is about Jean-Claude. He is such a mystery.

It would be nice to see something on Jean Claude....or perhaps Asher. I love Asher. <3

She hasn't really done to much with Jean-Cluade as of late, so it would be interesting ^_^

He's been a phone call in the last two books. Such a shame.

I hadn't realized how little we'd heard from Jean-Claude and Asher recently. I do like the return of emphasis to the crime fighting aspect of the series. Actually, if it does focus on one of the guys, I hope it's the lions or the tigers. That sixteen year-old blue tiger could be incorporated in so many different ways that I'm more eager to see progression there than with Jean-Claude and co.

Ugh, I'm getting tired of all the new guys being added to her list of ********. I agree that a story of just Jean-Claude or Asher would be wonderful

I'm as tired as everybody else here of the ever growing list of men in Anita's life but these books are like crack. I can't avoid it if a book comes out, I need to buy it. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to next year and getting two books.

Yeah, i agree with the length of the list of guys is a little rediculous but I think she might be trying to slim it down a little. Anita doesn't have to do it with all the animals to call, though she does need to have them around. Laurell should let Anita figure out a way to break her infatuation hold on so many of the men. That would help her and the men considerably.
Oh back to the novella, Laurell said the titles "Flirt", open for speculation

With the title I would say the book is about Nathaniel or Jean-Claude since they are the biggest flit out of all Anita's guys.

yeah i agree with the list of men as well, i hope she slims it down because its quite ridiculous now...im glad she went back to the crime-fighting thing as well because to be honest i had almost forgotten she worked for an agency as a marshall lmao. the books fare definitely like crack and i cant wait for flirt.
jean claude does needa lot more action but asher defintely needs more action in this next book cuz he's the most troubled character in my opinion..
is the merry gentry series officially over or..?

I remember Asher saying he had a problem with not getting enough attention in Danse Macabre and they were suppose to get together and talk about it. I wonder if they ever got to that talk?
No, Merry Gentry is not over.

I wish she'd do some stuff with fixing up Jean-Claude and Asher a little more, but I really want to see her fix Richard, at least a little bit so that maybe he can come back and actually be a charatcer. She kinda pathed the way for him in Blood Noir. I miss the cool Richard.
