Tiegan headed to the Fa'e HQ. She was upset, and a bit shaken, and she didn't know why the hell she came here. Maybe because she didn't really think anyone would look for her here.

She spent a few minutes, sneaking around, trying to find somewhere private. It was the discovery of a basement, a really old thing that had been forgotten, that caught her eye. Tiegan climbed down the ladder, carefully, before crawling into a dusty corner adn tugging out her homework and a torch.

Ra wouldn't find her here. He wouldn't think she'd be so stupid to come here.

She left the basement door open though, when she discovered that it wouldn't open from underneath. That explained why no one had come down here in some time. Tiegan wasn't afraid of spiders though.

After two HQ encounters in a row that had gone well instead of poorly, Mikhail was feeling oddly confident as he walked into the HQ this time. Hopefully, this unexpectedly positive trend - if two could be considered a trend - would continue. As no one seemed to be around, however, he helped himself to a bagel sandwich and a soda. Even if he ended up bored out of his mind for a few hours, at least there was food.

Restless, he wandered a little while he ate...until he noticed something he had most certainly never seen before. A hole in the floor that went down to...a basement? This presented him with a dilemma: venture down and possibly regret it, or ignore it and possibly regret it?

He sighed, but wrapped his lips around what remained of his sandwich so that he could climb down the ladder. Second thoughts sprang up almost immediately, as his ribs protested.

Tiegan froze as she listened to someone upstairs doing things. She thought. This place was all muffled and she wasn't sure if it WAS upstairs or maybe a rat in here. Maybe she was distracting herself on purpose. To not do the essay.

She bit her lip and went back to writing, trying to loose herself in the subject again, attempting to ignore rats and anything else that crossed her mind, the torch shining against the paper.

God. She would kill Ra. Tiegan's pen accidently prodded a hole through the paper as she thought that and she scowled, stabbing the paper suddenly, violently. She would stab him with this damn pen.

Dropping down the last foot or so also proved to be a stupid thing to do, as his healing injuries didn't appreciate the sudden jolt. Way to be smart, Mikhail. Wincing, he plucked his sandwich from his mouth and turned to see what he'd gotten himself into this time.

...yeah, he should have stayed upstairs. He'd pretty much expected that there'd be someone down here, but not this someone in particular. He grimaced, tempted to go back up the ladder right now. He wasn't very good when it came to facing certain issues.

Food. She smelt food. Tiegan stood up instantly. She was starving.

And then she saw him.

The jerk.

Didn't even want to know why the chicken couldn't fly into the window.

"You." She said, emotionless, her hands beside her as she gazed from him to the sandwich in his hand. Tiegan's face gave away nothing and in the dim light, the red handmark across one cheek was hidden. She grasped the flashlight in her hand, resisting the urge to point it at him.

It felt a bit like a Western, actully.

The door above them both seemed to slam shut suddenly, making her jump, the flashlight going flying at the door as an automatic defence. The flashlight shattered and darkness reigned over the dusty basement.

As it happened, the angel had exceptionally good eyesight...well, except for his farsightedness, but that wasn't a problem as long as he had contacts in! The dim light was enough for him to make out more than most.

"I didn't know this place had a basement," he observed, neutral. He didn't actually have anything against Tiegan, but that whole episode had been exceedingly difficult for him to handle. If 'handle' was the right word for it, because he really hadn't. Just as he started to point at her face with the same hand he was holding his sandwich with and ask what the mark was about, the door fell shut and just about scared the hell out of him.

At the same time, Tiegan sent her flashlight flying, and he was forced to dodge out of the way. Ow.

Yep. Never should have come down here.

Tiegan blinked as she realized that it was the door, that certain assholes hadn't come down here, and that she'd nearly hit this nearly innocent fa'e in the head with a now dead flashlight. Hm.

She also was slightly blinded from using the light against a white page.

"Sorry. Was aiming for the door. Neither did I." She said, but then, she really didn't explore here much. Tiegan reached for the nearby wall and held on so that she knew where she was till her eyes adjusted, nearly standing on her bag.

While he had good eyesight, he still needed some light. Now that the flashlight gone, there wasn't much to go by down here. And darkness really, really creeped him out. With a grunt for the twinge of pain the movement caused, he bent and set his unopened can of soda on the floor. Once he'd straightened, he pulled out his knife and willed flames to its blade.

There! Light! At least his lone power was useful. It made him feel better, that was for sure. At her explanation, he shrugged. "Whatever. Don't worry about it."

He wasn't always a jerk. Just when he was angry.

"That is so cool." Tiegan forgot her annoyance at him, nearly stepping on her bag again as she ventured closer to see the blade. That was right. She'd asked him about what he could do, and then she'd found herself on the couch. That had been a weird day.

"So this is what you can do?" She was tempted to touch it and see if it really was fire. Looked real enough. It lit up the basement enough too for her to see a tiny bit, though not much. Tiegan was close enough to touch it now, the light flickering in her eyes and hair, but she didn't get too close.

"Makes me wish I wasn't human sometimes." She admitted, though without any real jealousy. It was just a cool thing he had. "Would make marshmallows really easy to cook..."

"Yeah," he answered, taking another bite of his sandwich. The only downside to this was that he couldn't put the knife down, or the fire would die. He'd have to finish eating before he could have a drink.

The blade of the knife was some nine inches long, and the flames as real as any. He'd used his power to burn opponents before; this was actually the first time he'd used it for something relatively mundane. "I actually suck at cooking," he said, not sure how to respond to Tiegan's admission. Glossing over it worked just fine! "I burn everything."

"That's good because some food has to be burnt. Like marshmallows." She answered automatically, remembering her cheek and backing off again. Shadows were good. Tiegan felt a bit edgy about really explaining that, because it might lead to need of further explanation. But she did owe him one piece of info.

"I guess I am glad to see you because... you should know Ra has his body now. Looks ..." Tall, lean, naked. She went a bit pink. "Um. Well, you know, long dark hair, tanned skin. Just look out."

Tiegan sat down and rested against the wall again, watching the flames flicker. She would open the door but she honestly had no intention of leaving till the morning. He could leave when he wanted.

"Great," was his dry response to the news about Ra. "He'd better be ready to die again, if he comes anywhere near me." Mik spun the knife in his grasp for emphasis.

As long as he had light, the fact that the door was shut didn't bother him. It would've been kind of rude to just turn around and leave. "That why you're down here?"

...why else she'd be hanging around Fa'e HQ by herself when she wasn't Fa'e, he had no idea. And she didn't care for Ra or any of the rest of that stuff, by her own admission.

Tiegan frowned a moment, just a moment, touching the tender cheek. Bah. It was probably her fault anyway, and besides, it wasn't his problem. He seemed to have plenty of problems without Tiegan further unbalancing his unstable mental balance... or some excuse like that.

She dropped her hand fast and shrugged.

"Just... like it here? Can do homework in the quiet." She smiled, painfully. "Plus I don't really want to run into him again either right now. Don't think I like him much."

As quick as it was, the gesture was hard to miss. It was pretty easy to connect the dots, and he did not like what they added up to. He didn't really know Tiegan, but some things made him angry on principle, regardless of who was involved. You just didn't hit girls. Seriously.

"I don't much like getting hit, either." At least he was good at hitting back!

Huh. Well, it was hand shaped. She bit her lip and fiddled with the paper that she had originally been stabbing. He could probably hit back or worse, with that blade thing.

"Yeah well, I hit him back. Just didn't want to see him tonight. It was too cold for the woods anyway." She tried to make it seem good, decided that it wouldn't be good if he kept questioning her, and decided to change the subject now. Tiegan folded the paper into a paper plane and threw it at Mik. It sort of wobbled and had no aim, but the general direction was close...

"Can you set things on fire from a distance?" She asked suddenly. That would be interesting...
