The Sniper's Masquerade

Halloween Weekend

Our guild will be inviting many other guilds and threads with GCD roots to help host games and contests over Halloween! Anyone in the GCD is invited to the event and anyone in the guild is invited to help plan and host.


    Who: GCD
    What: Masquerade with lots of games and fun
    Where: In our Guild!
    When: Halloween Weekend
    Why: To see if we can snare in a few new people and also just to have too much fun!


What we need to plan can be split up into four parts:

1. Threads in the event
2. GCP thread and invitations
3. Team system and final organization
4. Misc stuff that would fit into other categories if I labeled them carefully but I didn't and so they get their own section.


Threads

Title: Welcome thread [working]
Posts Needed: 3
-Post 1 subtitle: Introduction
-Post 2 subtitle: Rules/Regs
Graphics Needed: Y
Creator: Pixie! And/Or Pixie's sniper-themed mule!
Description: Welcome-to-the-event thread. Needs to be concise and cute and give the event a personality, if that makes sense. sets the mood. want it to be really, really not serious [see: silly] but hopefully in a pretentious way because the sniper is very pretentious. I decided. cause it's my thread and my sniper. <3

Title: Teams [working]
Posts Needed: 3
-post 1 subtitle: intro to the teams
-post 2 subtitle: points and point system
-post 3 subtitle: qna/faq about the teams

Creator: whoever wants to [but probably pixie?]
Description: First post I want art for all the teams and a good description for all of them. And a short description of what teams are and how they work. See: SHORT. Like 3 sentences short. Second post is going to have a 'current point tally' and a list of what gets who what points, what prizes there are, and anything relevant to that? third post is just there to help with any questions people would have about the teams that didn't make sense to them. :3

GCP Thread and Invitations

We need to make a GCP thread and start sending out invitations by the 27th of September [cause I decided.]

here!

Invitations are to be sent out to every group that attended the Specter's Ball and then any group you think would enjoy hosting a thread in our masquerade.

there is a mock up thread in recycle bin/test forum that anyone is welcome to post in now, and you're willing to write any part of the thread that's been elaborated on enough to have you know what needs to be there but obv. isn't finished [see:everything in the thread]



Team System and final organization

There's not much to do here. Once everyone who's going to sign up to host a thread does, we're going to work out our point system, prizes we'll give away, and all the nitty-gritty team details.

The week up to the masquerade I'm going to need a lot of help organizing our threads and the forum and the guild and the thread, but that's not an issue now. as october draws closer this will get more attention <3



Misc stuff that would fit into other categories if I labeled them carefully but I didn't and so they get their own section

1. Team Threads!
This didn't go in threads cause there are five of them and I'm not making them! Each of our five teams needs an SGer to host a thread headquarters for them.

Requirements:
-Must wear team colors/mask during the event <3
-thread must not look like poop [or I will edit it not to look like poop]
-must make thread use team colors at least a little
-must 'splain teams and have rules in the thread
-must be cool 'yo.

details: you can design your thread yourself, or you can ask me [or one of my footmen] to do it for you. I encourage you to rename your team to be something clever but not retarded!

First come, first serve basis.
Our teams are:
Ghosts - blue white - Kichi
Bats - purple black - Photo
Pumpkins - orange green - buzz
Owls - light gray brown - fort??
Cats - black orange - sin

changed owl colors cause brown yellow are ugly and owls are often light gray and it goes well with brown and doesn't clash with the mask. <3

2. Giftsnipe Committee!

Having a thread for this is OPTIONAL and completely dependent on what the committee wants to do.

Anyone in this committee is responsible for sending out a massive buttload of giftsnipes to random people in the masquerade over the course of the weekend. you can have a thread, I can only put mention of you in the intro to the event, you guys can split a mule, whatever. Have fun with it! We'll spot you a good amount of gold for this and you're advised to mostly give out things not costing very much.

I'm looking for: A leader - someone who's willing to make decisions for the committee and plan how they're going to do the details of it and get things done in a timely manor. This isn't a big huge planning job, but it does need to get done!

3-5 committee members! You need to be able to be online that weekend quite a bit and work with the leader as needed before the event. is a fun thing to do if you like giftin people. >w<


Volunteers Needed:

I've already mentioned needing them above, but these are volunteer positions that need to be filled for things that I forgot about or have been mentioned above but didn't have a volunteer option cause I'm stupid. Just post to volunteer!


Mini-Game GMs and Writers

writers should work together to write at least 3 full games worth 25 updates (safeside :3) (unless we decide this is ridiculous and to write less). at least one game should have a sniper-masquerade theme and you need to WORK TOGETHER jesus. once we have a couple [see: 3-10 is now a couple] volunteers I'll throw us a thread to write s**t.

GMs need to be available over the weekend for LONG periods of time. if you're unsure if you can be there or can't be glued to your computer then DONT VOLUNTEER. <3 You guys need to count votes and run signups and post updates and oversee your threads during the game. I'll throw you guys a thread once enough of you signup and you can put down what times you're willing to GM for. You won't be writing your updates, just posting them.

other stuff WILL come up, it's just all I have right now. :3


Graphics

I need the following things from anyone:

pictures of pumkins, bats, cats, owls, and ghosts. little and cute preferably. drawn by you. <3

avatar art of people at the masquerade wearing their team mask [barton boutique 300 gold] non specific avatars, probably prefer chibi style.

it's not certain anything will be used, but I do want a lot and if you have skill you should make something. :3

other graphics I've asked people for ;3




okay there is definitely stuff that isn't here but this was a lot of work, so okay.

I kind of want to do something where we automatically sort people into teams. or just have them choose, and have a lot of things work off teams and stuff. because that's a good way to get people to talk to other people and teams are fun and everyone can be proud about what team they're on.


It should be something Halloween themed that we can attribute colors to but not towns or races because we've done those.

LOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE The teams idea!

I LOVE being all "MY TEAM IS BETTER THAN YOURS!! And it will make otherwise strangers have SOMETHING to talk about. SO yeah.

And yeah, team colors will work AWESOME! But we shouldn't give teams definite themes, cuz that might cut down on like contests options.

And for separating, maybe you should have like a "completely up to chance" type thing like have a guestbook, and everyone has to sign it , and they have to RNG a number to be sorted into a team (OR YOU'RE ASSIGNED ONE WISEGUY!!)... I have so many ideas my pants don't even fit anymore... >.<

yes! exactly like that! maybe it'd be good to match them with the eyepatch options? because it's a masquerade and that hides your face and it can be optional but still a part of distinguishing your team?

but then like buzz said it's good to keep the avatar options open. *THINKS* biggrin

too many teams just puts everyone back into the groups they came in. and then we can work it so team with the most points = awesome? artsomething?

costume mask options are punkin ghost cat bat owl. they're entirely optional for wearing but I dont think there's a problem with having our team types be based on those?

I mean, they are masks. It is a masquerade. :3


not sure on letting people choose teams/sorting them ourselves though. D:

everything that was donated to the guild for prizes should be found on gamemaster's account. I think some of the 100k you donated fort was used to buy item prizes for the last guild event, but the remainder should be there.
