 It was turning into one of those days. Everything seemed... Unavoidable? No, that wasn't the word. Istas shook her head and she stretched of her legs. Her Latin lessons for the day were done, and they were tough. She wondered if she was that hard to teach Latin too. Probably. She wasn't one to really have a long attention span, but if she did focus on it, that was all there was to it!
"Oh... I should go and see Claude." She pondered the best way to get there. "The shortest distance between two points is a straight line!" She nodded and walked straight... Well it wasn't as easy as it seemed. She walked right off the path and into the woods. She ducked under some branches... Se knew the area very well having been there for over a year now.. right? Was it really that long?
Actually, it was her birthday! she just turned a year today and she had only forgotten about it.... Oi, have things really been that busy...?

Warlomice's small frame blended in quite nicely to the shadows of the undergrowth. His bright blue eyes nearly glowing in the shadows. His small frame began to tremble as he picked up the sounds of someone or something moving through the woods. They or it was moving towards his hiding spot.
His eyes widened as he scanned the surrounding area for a new hiding location. They were getting closer. Deciding to take his chances, Warlomice leapt out of the bush he was hiding in. His small frame heading for a larger bush not too far away.

Istas was started to hum to herself when there was a sudden rush of something small. Her heart stopped and she shrieked backing up. "What the-" She then froze and listened, if it was something that would attack her, she could hear it....
But all she heard was the larger push... shaking? Istas blinked a few times and then walked over to it slowly, lowering her head... Her curiosity taking over. What was it that did that? Was it scared?
She nosed against the bush a little... "Hello?" She asked in a soft tone, her eyes unable to see the natural colors in the darkness of the bush

He edged towards the back of the bush as whatever was approaching shrieked. His ears began to swivel wildly, first to the left and then to the right. Whatever it was, had stopped moving at least for the moment. Warlomice began to relax as the silence stretched onward.
However as the figure on the other side of the bush spoke, his muscles tensed up once more. Tilting his head slightly to the left, Warlomice regarded the voice quietly. Maybe he could trust them? Reaching a decision, Warlomice craned his neck out of the bush. His small muzzle and eyes just visible. Though he remained silent, at least for the time being.

Istas flinched when she saw the muzzle and eyes... Before what it was registered in her head. She twitched her ears and backed away a couple steps. It was a foal... It looked extra tiny so it had to be an Usdia right? Starlet was even tinier then that when she was a baby.
She looked around, its mother surely had to be nearby... "Where's your momma, little one?" She asked again in a soft voice. If she spoke to loud, it would probably scare him away.

His eyes widened at the sight of the much larger mare. He had yet to run into any of his kind since he had emerged from his basket. Craning his neck upwards, Warlomice stared at her. His ears drooped slightly at the question of where his mother was.
His gaze dropped to the ground as he shuffled his feet, shifting his weight from side to side. "Don't know, momma never came back" His voice was soft and melodious, with a hint of sadness. Almost like a lullaby on the wind.

His mother never came back? It made her think of her parents. They pretty much gave her up without a fight, and never really cared if she came to visit... She had two siblings she never got to even meet...
Istas lowered her head and she nuzzled him gently, so she didn't knock him over. She knew how he felt. Forte and Liberty had taken her in and care for her like she was there own for hte most part... But was she able to do it herself? Well of course she wasn't alone! She did have Claude. He knew how to talk so he was around long enough that... if she hasn't come back by now, the little ones mother probably was never going to return for him.
She smiled at him a little. "Are you hungry?"

His cheerful nature returned to him, as Warlomice realized that Istas meant him no harm. His eyes seemed to dance with the excitement that was slowly moving through his veins. She was so nice, maybe she had seen his Momma somewhere?
Flashing Istas a bright smile, Warlomice glanced around the woods. At least what he could see of it. He was always on the lookout for anyone that could be his mother. Then again he had never seen his mother so maybe Istas was his mother?
As Istas questioned whether he was hungry or not, Warlomice peered back up at her. " No I'm -" Whatever he was about to say was cut off by the loud rumble of his stomach. Apparently his stomach and him did not agree on if they were hungry. "Er maybe I am, just a little"

Istas blinked at him and hers ears twitched when his tummy growled. She stood back up and she looked around. What was the closest food... There was a berry bush ahead. "We'll go this way. I hope you like berries." She move slowly since she was so much larger them him, he wouldn't be able to keep up.
But she wondered what she should do with him. If she left him out there any longer it was only a matter of time before something else found him. She figured she could keep him for a few days and see what she could do. There could be someone that would take him. Having a foal is a big responsibility.

Warlomice gave a small nod. "alright" and proceeded to trot in the direction that Istas had chosen. "Berries are fine" Well used to berries, since that's what he had been living off of these past days.
What was going to happen to him now? Would she take him to get food and then leave him there? He didn't want to be alone any longer. Maybe she would take him with her? That would be nice.
Glancing up at Istas as he followed her, Warlomice dared to ask just what was going to happen to him. His voice tinged with the hope that she would take him with her.
"what's gonna happen to me?"

There was a loud crack. Istas looked around Was she the only one that heard it? It was the sound of her heart breaking! Ugh, how could she possibly deny him! She wretched herself out of her thoughts. "After we eat, you'll be coming with me. And see from there what we can do." She smiled at him. He was breaking her heart. But was she really ready to be a parent? She and Claude had been trying, and she heard that the motherly instinct kicks in when you have your litter but... This had to be a motherly instinct she was feeling. She couldn't leave him alone.
"oh look, there are the berries." She smiled, and her tummy grumbles happily* She had forgotten she was hungry...

He gave a slight nod. Her answer was good enough to satisfy him, for now. Seeing as they had reached the berries, Warlomice practically leapt into the bush. Grasping a few of the low lying berries, he began to happily munch away at them.
It was odd, how at ease he found himself with Istas despite having only just met the mare. It was almost like she was sent to find him, from some greater outside beings. But that was ridiculous wasn't it?
Every so often Warlomice would glace in Istas direction. Merely to ensure that she was still there and had not abandoned him.

Istas watched him as he leaped for the food. She was glad she asked if he was hungry. She herself munched on the berries at the top of the bush. She really wasn't to sure what to do in this situation. Being as she never experienced it before. She fiddled with some ideas in her head but none of them seemed right to her.
"Oh, well I guess I should introduce myself. Its silly of my to have forgotten. My name is Istas."

His ear flicked backwards as Istas spoke once more. Pulling his head out from amongst the leaves, Warlomice peered up at her. Swallowing the mouthful of berries he proceeded to follow suite and introduce himself. "I'm Warlomice"
Flashing her another grin, Warlomice turned back towards the bush. Selecting some more berries off of it before continuing munching away.

"Warlomice?" Istas repeated. She wondered where that name came from. It was different. She shrugged a little and glanced down at him. He had already started to change. He was warming up, seeing as he was eating. That was a good thing. She figured that she wouldn't be making it up the mountain pass to see Claude today after all.
She would have to see Luna the foal, so that she could make sure he was okay. And to introduce them since they would bump into each other here and there. She started to wonder if maybe he was scared of two leggers.
She followed him now in eating some berries. She took the ones that were out of his each.
