I hear the Y has good food... anyways, one of my favorite recipes: Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients: ½ Cup Sugar ½ Cup Brown Sugar, Packed ½ Cup Peanut Butter ¼ Cup Shortening ¼ Butter, Softened 1 Egg 1 ¼ Cup Flour ¾ Teaspoon Baking Soda ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder ¼ Teaspoon Salt
Directions: Mix everything together, use the teaspoon to measure the right amount of dough. Roll into a ball. Take a fork and make a cross pattern to press the cookie down. You may need a little extra sugar to dip the fork in so that it does not stick to the cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes

I like curry a lot. I'll post a recipe, but I make it differently every time. Hopefully you like it.
My Chickpea curry: Should serve 2-3 people.
1 tbsp canola or peanut oil 1/2 tsp. cayenne 1 tsp. chili powder or dried chili pepper (alternatively, you can use fresh chilis) 1 tbsp. curry powder 1 tbsp curry paste 1 red bell pepper, diced 1/2 large yellow onion, diced 2 cups (canned) chickpeas 1 cup coconut milk 1/4 banana, chopped and mashed
Optional: Peanuts, Fresh red chilis
In a bowl or large cup, mix together coconut milk, curry paste, curry powder, chili powder or dried chilis (unless you're using fresh chilis) and cayenne. Heat a pan to medium-high heat. Pour in oil, and fry onions for roughly five minutes. Pour in your coconut milk-curry mix.
-- What I do at this point is, using either soy milk, water, or orange juice, I rinse the remaining spices off the sides and bottom of the bowl or cup. I pour this into the pan. --
Bring the liquid to a boil, and add in chickpeas (and a small handful of peanuts if you're using them). After 2-3 minutes, decrease to about medium heat. Add in red bell pepper (and chili, if you're using fresh chilis). Stir frequently for 1-2 minutes. Add in mashed banana (this ingredient is optional, but I think it's delicious). Keep stirring for another minute or two, then remove from heat.
This goes well on a bed of rice, or with naan bread, or noodles. I usually go with rice.
I make this kind of thing in so many different ways. I sometimes make it with potatoes (added in shortly after the onions), and grated carrot (shortly after I put the liquid portion in). I also used to make it with shrimp, but I'm mostly vegan now.

I'll stand up and admit that I'm a fan of good old fashioned slop from the Brittish Isles.
Shepards Pie: Meat (Usually ground beef, but can be leftover turkey, chicken, or steak chunks) Vegetables (Peas, corn, carrots, string beans, broccoli, cauliflower, or anything else you like.) Gravy Mashed Potatoes Cheese.
In a casserole dish, spread the meat on the bottom, layer with veggies, drench in gravy and cover with mashed potatoes. Slide it in the oven for about 30 minutes, then top with cheese and put back in the oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
Make as large or small as you want!
Bubble and Squeak: Beef sausage (Or pork, but I keep to a Kosher diet) Cabbage Mashed Potatoes
Fry the sausages first, cut them into small pieces and put the pieces in a bowl. KEEP THE GREASE AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FRYING PAN!.
Mix the chopped cabbage and mashed potatoes with the sausage chunks. Shape them into little patties and fry them in the sausage grease until they are golden brown. Make them as large or small as you like.

1lb of italian sausage (ground up version) rotini noodles tomatoes and juice mushrooms water garlic/garlic salt a wok a pot
Brown the sausage, as you boil the noodles. After the noodles are good and so is the meat, drain the noodles, and the sausage. set them in a bowl and then throw the tomatoes into the wok with the garlic and mushrooms and the sauce, cook them and mix. Add back the meat and noodles. My version of goolash or however it is spelled.
I would put up my recipee for peanut butter brownies and then my triple fudge brownies or maybe even my doubledip brownies(white and dark chcolate) But they are kind of evil and I vowed to protect mankind XD

Chieftain Twilight and Kosher Sheapherds Pie? interesting! biggrin It's yummy stuff! Home Made lasagna is also super good. Weekend Vegetarian Lasagna (Because it's so hearty it lasts all weekend) INGREDIENTS: (With room for personal interpretation) Butter Flour Milk Noodles (I use No-Cook Noodles from Trader Joe's) Eggplant Zucchini Feta Olives Olive Oil Mushrooms Spinach Ricotta Garlic Mozzarella Parmesan Italian Seasonings (Basil, Oregano, Marjoram, Thyme, Sage, Rosemary) Salt and Pepper to taste White Sauce: Melt 4 T of butter over low heat in a sauce pan. Add 4 T of flour until it's nice and pasty. Slowly add up to 4 cups of milk until you have a thick and creamy white sauce. Feel free to add any cheeses, garlic, salt, pepper, or herbs you like. Set aside. Layer one: Thin layer of white sauce on the bottom of the casserole dish. One layer of noodles over the white sauce. Thinly sliced coins of zucchini and eggplant (You only need one small one of each, and the coins should not be thicker than 1/8th of an inch) laid out over the noodles, never more than 2 slices thick (for even cooking). Sprinkle small feta crumbs and olive slices over the bottom layer. Layer two: One layer of noodles. Saute the mushrooms with garlic and olive oil. In separate bowl, mix the Ricotta, spinach, and mushrooms. Salt and pepper to taste. Spread Ricotta mix over the noodles. Layer three: One layer of noodles. Pour the rest of the white sauce on top, making sure to fill up any gaps in the side. This ensures that there's enough liquid to soften all the noodles during baking. Add any tasty herbs you might like here. Fresh basil, for example, goes great between the noodles and the final layer of cheese. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Bake in oven at about 300 to 350 degrees F for an hour, or until the cheese is golden brown and it's bubbling at the edges. It should also be very aromatic.

Serethiel Maerukai Made an awesome sammich out of hummus, sprouts, tomato, and feta cheese today. I'll give you all my recipe for hummus. I don't usually use recipes, as you all probably know, cause I eyeballed this whole thing, but this is a rough estimate since this recipe wasn't complicated, it's pretty easy to remember. I make my hummus in the traditional Lebanese style.
1 can garbanzo beans/chickpeas, drained 3 cloves fresh garlic (or 2 if you like it less spicy) 1 fairly large fresh basil leaf Small handful of fresh parsley, plus extra for garnish juice of 1 whole lemon and zest if desired 1/4 cup olive oil 1 1/2 tablespoons tahini (I can never find this in billings, Montana so I use toasted sesame oil instead)
Stick all this in a blender and let it rip.
also, i will have to get you her Chick Pea Curry recipe, and my own Pumpkin Brownie recipe. ) oh, and also my Filled Cocoa Oatmeal Cupcakes! biggrin (i heart baking! mrgreen )

Udon. you ready for this...ok good!! 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour. 1 1/2 cup bread flour 1 teaspoon salt mix all ingredients together in a bowl pour 1 cup water. add water slowly and knead as you pour once the dough firms up, knead it onto a flat surface. dubble bag then lightly step onto it with socked feet for 15 minets. let it rise in refrigerator all night or more then 3 hours. cut dough into halfs and do this to both halfs. coat the dough, a flat surface and a rolling pin in flour. roll dough flat, about 1/16 of an inch. fold dough into thirds and cut into thin strips, unfold and you have noodles. Next time you get broth!!
