Sleepily Mokkun yawned as his eyes flickered up to see the sun bight and warm; his right hind leg that stuck out of the shade was hot and frowning he pulled it closer to him before he just gave up and got up, shaking himself to rid his fur of any blades of grass; though as he did a quick shake he fell to his side and soon his eyes started to water. Before salty tears could fall, there was a thud that scared Mokkun, his eyes moved to look over and see an apple had fallen to the ground, reaching over he grabbed the red fruit with a small chubby hand; but as he tried to eat it he did nothing but get a hurt mouth, unable to bite through the tough skin.

Innocently he patted the apple before he wobbled to his feet in search of a rock, he was hungry and he had seen older foals crush things with rocks; apples you could eat so he would smash it and eat it, simple! However in the tall green grass he was soon lost, still searching for rocks he paid no mind to where he was at all, though he started to sing to himself in a strangely soft voice. "Whak, we findzs whak!"

Trudging along, his coal dipped leg's swishing against the tall grasses, Joey yawned widely.
The sun was quite ferocious today. It's beams engulfing his whole flank.
It was quite annoying, since he didn't really enjoy the heat.
But he didn't show it in his composure at all.
He kept his emotionless atire.
A hot breath of air would occasionaly graze past him.
It made his snow white hair dance manically, tangling along his silver antlers.
He wasn't really sure where he was going, but that's usually how it was.
Just wandering the lands. Never knowing what to expect.
His mind did wander to thought's of a certain someone, in hope's that he might run into her on the way. This caused a small grin to tug at the corner's of his mouth, a slightly more dazed expression on his face.
Soon his consistant walk became a slower lolly-gag.

Having been on a daily hunt, the male exhaled loudly and proudly.
A phesant was flung over his shoulder like a sac of potatoes, a huge grin on his face. What a great day to hunt!
His pristine white coat repeled the sun's ray's with ease, giving him a more chilled body.
As he trotted out into the open ground's after being in the forest, he easily spotted his brother.
A mischevious grin on his face, he flattened his ears back, and lowered his torso. Creeping agily towards the unsuspecting Cervitaur, Raphael stepped with ease and skill. His bushy tail swished behind him in anticipation.
Luckily his brother was slightly ahead of him, so he was able to have a better advantage. Holding back a chuckle as he was close enough to the buck, he hunkered lower in a pouncing position.
Pausing for a moment, he lept up, "HEY THERE JOEY!!" his rather masculine voice boomed.

The Cervitaur stopped in his tracks. But did not jump, nor scramble in fear.
He knew his brother had been stalking after him for awhile now, but simply didn't want to ruin his fun.
Unphased, he simply turned around and gave a small wave to his bro.

"Ahhh.. You alway's know when I'm around, don'tcha?" he laughed loudly, clapping an arm around his brother's shoulder a bit roughly.
"Thanks for playing along, bro." he gave a hard pat on the Cervi's shoulder.
His ear's soon perked up though as he caught scent of another.
"Hm?"
His head raised and scanned their surrounding's trying to find the source of who could be around.

Mokkun now looked up, the tall grass he was in reached the tips of his ears, though now they fell; flattening to his head tightly as he realized he did not know which way he came from. To light the grass he had stepped on and parted sprung right back; now his only option was to go forward though he was curious as to what that smell was, it caused his withers to shake and jump as he wanted to run away from it. Still, not knowing what the dark smell was he walked forward, but soon his attention went back to finding the rock; he was hungry and to eat the apple he had to crush it first.

Soon as he walked the sound of talking caught his attention, wondering if they could help him find his way back he hurried forward, and soon skidded to a halt as he saw something he had never seen; a long bush tale and a dead bird on his shoulder.Eyes widening comically his ears fell and his tail swished as he thought of just darting back into the long grass to try and hide, but the antlered person there did not seem troubled by the fluffy one; he seemed at ease if not a bit annoyed. Not knowing how he knew, antlers were safe, but the dark smell came from the fluffy tail one and not knowing what to do Mokkun just sat down and started to cry, loudly if his wails were anything to go by. “No eabt no eabt!” Furiously he rubbed at his eyes and a small line of snot ran from his nose as his face grew red.

Having been distracted by his brother, Joey was not prepared for the wailing that was to come.
For he did not pick up the baby Centaur's scent fast enough.
Since Raphael's kill was tainting the air.
Black ears darted up quickly as he stumbled slightly, whiping his head around to spot the baby almost hidden in the grasses.

"Oh my!" the pristine Fox man blinked wide eyed at the baby, suprised by his easily scared demenour.
A warm smile on his face, the muscular Foxtaur lowered to the youngling's level.
"Well hey there little fella. Why are you out here by yourself?"
he placed the dead bird behind him a ways, to extend his arms out to the young boy. In an inviting manner.

Joey simply raised a brow, having not liked being taken off guard by such a harmless creature.
Rubbing the back of his neck in uncertainty, he looked around to see if any other adults were around to claim the baby.

Mokkun had eyes full of tears so that he did not see has the bird was placed behind the fox, but they cleared enough for him to see the white fluffy one had knelt down and was face to face with him now. Sniffing his ears still back, Mokkun eyed the new creature; the dark smell still had him wishing to run despite the fact he was still unsure where the smell was coming from. He saw the arms and instinct had him moving forward to cling to the fox, his nose was soon filled with the dark smell and he coughed. “Aways awon, find wock cwush appew and eats” He opened his mouth to show small baby teeth before he wiggled and let go of the fox, his eyes turning to look at the one with antlers before he whipped his face.

“You have wocks?” Looking around he still didn’t find the hard things he wanted; a growling from his stomach had the small boy placing his hands over his stomach and his back leg give a small stomp to the ground in discomfort. “Must go get the wocks nows, we go.” He then fully stepped away from the fox before trying to move around him only to fall and shake his head a bit dazed. Getting up again he moved to the deer taur and looked up at him, straining to see him while this close. “You have wocks?” His tail swished behind him as he waited for an answer.

Patting the boy gently on the back, he tried to comfort him as he had comforted his children when they were babies.
It didn't seem right for such a vunerable baby to be out on it's own, without a single adult in sight besides the two present.
It made Raphae uneasy.
But he could tell from the boy's body language that he didn't take to the smell of the early hunt.
Grinning, he chuckled as the boy wiggled from his arms.
"You're hungry, huh? Well we can fix you up some grub, boy!" he bellowed as he hoisted himself up, retreiving his kill and hauling it over his shoulder once again.

Joey peered down to the baby, staring for a moment.
Folding his arms, his little tuft of a tail flickering, he shook his head.
But he paused.
The youngster wanted to eat the apple eh?
Well, there were much more effective way's to prepare such a fruit.
Grinning, he extended his arm down towards the child, while slowly kneeling down, to try and obtain the apple from him.
He knew a perfect way to fix this into a tastey little treat.

Mokkun smiled at the pat, he didn’t know anyone who had done that before; he had seen the other foals getting hugs from their parent’s he did wonder where his own were but figured they were away, if only he could remember something about them. “No boy,” he frowned and pointed a little finger to his chest. “Mokkun.” He had seemed to struggle with his own name, but flashed a grin as he got it right, but what grub was he did not know though he kept the puzzled look from his face for it seemed to make adults get angry at him. He watched the fox get up and he had to stare up at him, he stared at the bird for a minute; a feeling of unease entering him as he saw how still it was.

Looking back to the buck with wide eyes as he held his hand out, panicking Mokkun took a quick step back; his hold on the apple tightening. Why did everyone take his food, ears falling he lifted the apple up to let the adult have it; his eyes casted to the side so as not to look at him while he did. “Appew twee past wong gwass, lots be tewe.” The older foals often played where he stayed, every time an apple would fall they would take it from him saying they were older, mostly he tried eating leafs he saw the adults eat; but it hurt his stomach. Still, these two had been nice, and the fluffy one had hugged him and patted him, so they could have the apple.

"Mokkun huh? That's a fine name!" He approved, giving a nod.
Resting his free hand on his hip, and shifting his weight he introduced himself.
"My name is Raphael." He beamed proudly.
Tilting his head towards Joey, he added, "And this here's my numbskull of a brother Joey." He laughed heartly.
A look of concern wrinkled on his chiseled face.
"But where are your parents, son? A boy your age should have a family. It's dangerous for youngsters to be on their own." he looked the boy over.
He seemed to be in good shape.
No real bad scars or cuts. And his fur was glossy.
Malnutrition didn't seem apparent either.
Perhaps he had been a runt in a herd of Centaurs?
Maybe one of the neighboring tribes.
Poor thing.

Joey took the apple and turned it in his hand.
Inspecting it for a moment, blinking lethargically, he finally let it rise to his antlers.
Resting it against the side of one of the points, he pressed it firmly and twisted.
Slowly, the skins began to peel and reveal the softness of the fruits meat.
He worked carefully, so as not to puncture the tender meat of the fruit.

Mokkun beamed happily as his name was accepted, he wondered how he knew his name, but then his attention like all children; was soon changed to something else, namely as the fluffy one gave his name, a long name. “Wafel? He tried to say it, but his ears fell and prickled in agitation as his tongue and lips failed to follow the sound of what he wanted, his eyes followed Raphael’s motion to see the antlered fellow, and the name Joey was gibe; much easier to say. “Joewy.” The laugh from the fox tickled his ears and he smiled happily, though it turned to a look of thought as a question was asked. “No know, maybe gone?” He shifted when he was being looked over, furrowing his brow he looked at himself but found nothing odd and so with a flick of his tail he looked up as a new smell made his nose twitch.

Joey, who held the apple, was doing something strange to it and he watched with interest as the apple changed color and the red seemed to fall onto the bucks head and back. Watching it was quiet entertaining for he had never seen someone do that before. Tilting his head a bit he looked toward Raphael in a questioning manner though he didn’t ask anything and his attention went back to watching the red disappear from what he had thought was a red food, but it looked yellow white inside and smelled much better than it had when the red stuff was on it. The sudden feel of his stomach growling hand his small hands on his stomach again and a flush spear across his face.

“Do we find wocks, hungwy,” he frowned and looked up to Raphael with a mixture of emotions on his face. Mokkun seemed to look around before he sighed and thought to just go off to find them, but the long grass was hard to move in; he liked it better where he had been, there the grass was kept short and the tree was nice to sleep under.

Letting out another booming laugh, the hearty Foxtaur swished his tail in amusement as the child attempted a go at his name.
This was alway's the children's name for him.
'Wafel'
It was a tough name for the youngling's to say, since they were not fully adept to their body's and functions.
Tapping a finger to his chin, he grinned pondering if a shorter and more easier name would be more appropriate for the youngsters.
A nickname, perhaps?
Snapping out of his off topic, he watched as Joey worked diligently on the fruit.
Glancing at the little babe, he gave a wink.
Joey alway's liked to show off his trick's. This the Foxtaur knew.
But his ear's perked as the child seemed to have some sort of fixation on obtaining a rock.
"Whoa there little fella. There's no need for rocks. Old Joey's got you covered here!" He pointed a thumb to his hooved brother.

Finally stripping the fruit of it's outer shell, Joey brought the apple back down for all to see.
It was almost perfectly stripped; only a few bits of red were left on.
Blinking at the apple for a moment, he paused to inspect it more so.
Nodding slightly, his emerald eye's glinted with approval.
Kneeling down, he presented the nued apple to the baby foal as he removed a few of the skins from his hair to nibble on.
The skin's contained much nutrition and vitamin's. It would be a shame to waste them.

( Its short, horribly and stupidly short but my head hurts so much; and I felt awful not replying to you for so long. 0-0 )

Mokkun flicked his ears back, eyes staring to the Wafel as he grinned, sharp teeth. His flanks again twitched and he felt like he should be running; sharp things hurt, but still the busy tailed adult was doing nothing to him, flicking his small tail he pawed the ground, he couldn’t get a rock? He looked to where the thumb was showed to, watched Joe make the apple turn pale. He looked to the apple as it was lowered, surprised to see that only flecks of red was left on it. He took a step back when the antlered fellow knelt, but when the apple was moved toward him he stared at it curiously but realized quickly he was giving the fruit back to him.

Wide eyes he rushed forward and hugged Joe tight before happily accepting the apple and biting down on it, nickering when he tasted the sweet juice and it was not mushy since he did not have to try and bite it through the skin for a long time. Happily munching on the apple, not caring of the juice that ran down his face; he looked to the two adults with big bright happy eyes.

{It's quite alroight, Mei Mei. Take as long as you need. I want you better! <333}

Raphael laughed in a joyous boom.
This little tike was a good young lad. And had taken quite a liking to Joseph.
Joey always seemed to attract the younglings. And this one was no diffrent.
Running a hand through his powder white hair, the Foxtaur grinned at the duo.
How precious. Just looking at how fatherly Joey was, it suprised him that the deerman had no offspring of his own.
Though his brother was a bit shy when it came to those he was interested in.
Chuckling to himself, Raphael again took a survey across the grounds for any sight of an adult.

Smiling as the child embraced him, Joey gave a light pat on the boys back.
It wasn't much. Just a stripping of the fruit.
Baby's teeth were still very weak, even Centaur's who's were built tough.
The adult male couldn't help but smile at the boy.
He was just so precious. And so vunerable being on his own.
Glancing to his brother, the buck gave the fox a look that the other understood completly.
Nodding, he smiled to the boy again and scooped him up carefully into his strong arms cradling him close.

"Looks like you've got yourself a new home, little man." the manly Foxtaur confirmed.
"Joey will take good care of you, fella." he nodded his head approvingly.
And with that, the fox flicked his tail and bounded off.

{Fastforward}

Stretching to the chirp of the morning festivites, Joseph rose from his bed carefully.
Scratching at the back of his head, he peered down at the young Centaur the still appeared to be slumbering.
Grinning, he blinked away some sleep as his sleek legs hoisted his body up.
The little horse boy had grown so much since the day he had been found.
And Joey fully enjoyed watching over him.
Rubbing the back of his white flank, the Cervitaur yawned widely, trying his best to motivate so as to make breakfast.

( -Snugs- You should get better to, no more being sick and ickly for you either! )

Mokkun had paid little mind to what the two adults had been doing, munching on his apple he was content and his young mind was not yet ready to understand and think about, what he was going to do later. He was just about to take another bite when he was lifted and a muffled squeak issued between the apple held tight in his mouth. He looked toward Raphael, pink red like eyes watched the bush tailed fellow as he spoke, before flickering to Joe and back the Raphael as the white form bounded away. He wondered where he was going, but he went back to his apple, his mind turning off any thought but getting rid of the hurt in his stomach.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The time skip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twitching in his sleep Mokkun grumbled as the sound that was forcing his dreams to depart and wakefulness thrust upon him. Slowly Mokkun woke, pink eyes fluttering open to see day was just starting, and he could hear Joe messing about, eve the early riser Mokkun had never been able to wake before his sire. Swishing his tail he struggled to his hooves, when he managed it he shook and stomped lightly, almost like a small dance; before he rushed forward in a bolting run, straight to a small clearing where he easily stretched his legs and spent some of his morning energy. Being small still, he understood he could sometimes be a little too much, to hyper and energetic.

So he would run and spend the most of it, course it would just come back. Stretching he went back to find Joe, when he spotted him he didn’t think twice as to what the Buck might be doing, instead he just hugged him happily, ears swiveling back and forth. “What’s to happen today?” He knew he wouldn’t get a verbal answer, but Joe always managed to get him to understand what he needed to do.

{Oh my, Mei Mei. I'm a terrible person. I've been slacking on guild are-pee's. But I very much so want to continue ours. I hope you're feeling better. <333 }

Having retrieved a day old loaf of raisin bread from the pantry, Joey had set it down onto a large platter for serving, adding a large cutting knife at it's side. Pausing for a moment, he thought of what condaments would best suit this kind of bread. Not being the best with matching foods together, he decided margarine would be the proper choice. Seeing as it sat out already, he simply pulled it closer and stared proudly at his presentation with a slight nod of approval.

Grabbing the knife and positioning it on the loaf, Joey's full concentration was on cutting a straigh slice. As he began to apply pressure his black ears jolted upwards as he felt his little Centaur boy cling to his leg. Peering down, a fatherly smile warmed on his face. The usual emotionless expression's of his face were easily broken by this little one. Letting his free hand drop, he patted the child's head. Parting a few locks out of Mokkun's face, Joey looked up to the nearby window.
It was blinded by the morning sun's blaring presence. But the two of them would go to market later on, for the colder season's were fast approaching and the growing Centaur would need to be prepared for the chill of the air. Having been a veteran to such later months Joey was well adept and prepared for what was to come. So with that he pointed to the door with his equpied hand, and proceeded to finish cutting a fair sized slice which he soon after added a swipe of margarine to. Turning back to the young boy, he titled down his torso to deliver the bread to his growing boy.
