"Only a little further..." Frey murmured reassuringly to the pale pup who traveled with him. Finally the familiar scent was there, his eyes spotted Dimitri scampering off to report his return to Twix. The fox seemed to appear and vanish wherever there was news, keeping Twix even more incredibly informed then she normally was.
"This is it, welcome to Akiiki Chibale." His voice was still soft and friendly, it was hard for frey not to sound carefree and relaxed, probably as hard as it was for his sister, Tempeste, not to sound harsh. He led the pup along carefully towards the main den, almost the entire family rested in the main den rotating in and out as was needed for patrols. Butterfinger made his home with his mate and pups a little away closer to the river.
"Mother..." He called out with a smile, he turned to Angelina then. "My mother is very kind she'll like you..."
Alas slipped out of the den pleased to hear her sons voice, her eyes were bright blue and her fur despite it's pale colors showed no sign of dirt. Being a healer had always made her clean and cautious. "Frey! My baby, I was worried you had wandered off...Twix says not to worry but you know how I-" She paused then her head tilting as she spotted and scented the pup. "Oh, hello there..." Her mind flipped through possible scenarios for Frey bringing this strange little pup, but before that her eyes focused on the milky ones and she frowned slightly realizing right away that the pup wouldn't see.

Angelina carefully felt her way along behind Frey, her eyes comforted by the sound of the bell and the knowledge the someone was there, guiding her, that the death of her family hadn't totally left her abandoned and near defenceless. Frey, sensing him turn back to her, informed her that they had finally reached their destination.
The bell stopped it's chime and so she only walked a few more paces to come to stand beside Frey as he called out to his mother. The sound of the answering call made her warm slightly inside, the other wolf was caring and warm, worrying for the well being of her grown son, despite her own knowledge that he was now able to look after himself.
Then in mid flow she cut of, almost in a surprised tone she presumed the female had noticed her. She tilted her head in the general direction she had heard the voice, milky eyes never focusing, but her other senses heightened by her disability always informed her of everything she needed to know.
She wondered why the female was surprised and other questions began to run through her mind, was she going to accept her, to allow her at least to rest within the pack territory. Worry crossed her features and her voice wavered slightly as she answered the greeting, 'Hello.' Still exhausted and haunted from her plights she did not give more that straight forward answers.

"Mother this is Angelina, she's going to stay with the pack now." It was all Frey wished to say in front of the pup, there was no need to bring up her loss again. He knew his mother would catch the tone in his voice and agree with him, Frey wasn't one to make foolhardy requests.
He turned and gently nudged the pup forward a bit lightly licking her muzzle. "Angelina this is my mother Alas, she's the packs alpha female, and she's an amazing healer." He smiled then and watched.
Alas moved closer to the pup and gently placed her muzzle closer to tenderly nuzzle her. "Of course you'll be a part of our family, Angelina...thats a beautiful name, I'm sure soon you'll be our little angel." Her voice was soft, the smile on her muzzle flooded into her tone.
Alas let her tail waver happily and she smiled up at her son, Frey was actually taking responsibility. He reminded her so much of his father in that moment her pride spiked. All thanks to the poor little pup, the blind orphan had no idea just how well loved she would be within the pack. "You must be hungry...lets get you something to eat, I think we have some fresh rabbit in the den..."

All doubts that had began to fill her mind then fled as Frey nudged her forward. She took note of the way he announced she would be staying with the pack, not even asking for permission from his mother, the female alpha. She felt a great welling of thanks for her saviour at that moment, she would repay him, somehow, someday.
She stumbled forward and was greeted by a wet nose as the female tenderly nuzzle her, her heart wanted to break at that moment, wishing it was her own mother welcoming her home, not someone else's. Small gentle tears rolled down the side of her face, she was tried and was finding it hard keeping all her emotions in, she nuzzled into the female trying to find a source of comfort.
As she pulled away from her she smiled bravely and sniffed once before announcing, 'I'd like some rabbit if that is okay?' A sudden conversation came to mind at that moment and she remembered how her mother had promised she'd teach her how to listen out for rabbits undergrowth and trace their warren networks so she herself could one day catch her own rabbit.

"Of course dear one, lets get you fed and then you must be tired, the den is nice and warm." She let her tail brush against the pups side in a soft guide down into the den. Alas moved slightly slower for she had no bell with which to help guide the pup.
Frey watched nervously, after having saved the pup he felt strangely afraid of letting her go. Of course he would though, his mother would know better how to tend to the delicate females emotions. Still as he saw her start into the den he couldn't keep from blurting out a warning.
"Careful it's a little steep..." He disliked the idea of seeing her take a tumble after all her other hardships this day. She was so confident though that he stepped back trying to let her find her own way. He couldn't keep butting in...she would learn, and he just had to stand back and wait to catch her when she wanted his help. It was unnerving how powerless it made him feel and he was mildly angry that the world was cruel enough to blind innocent pups and take their families from them.

'Thank you' She replied simply, the female's tail brushed past her and she indistinctly wanted to catch it in her mouth as a guide. But she bite her lip, preventing her from doing the familiar gesture and instead listened to the sound of the paws being placed and she began to slowly follow.
As she noted the decline into the den she slowed slightly, not wanting to slip and as soon as she had done so she heard Frey call out from behind. She smiled, for the first time since before her mother and family had been killed and she turning and called back, 'Are you not having some rabbit too?' She did not know Frey but she knew he had a good heart and she wanted him around her.

Frey smiled softly and followed her down into the den. "I'm coming..." Maybe she wouldn't mind if he stuck around a little longer. His mother certainly gave him an encouraging enough smile, no doubt pleased to see him actually showing some responsibility. How strange that unlike other responsibilities Angelina didn't seem like a burden at all.
Infact he felt as if he were somehow intruding on her, hopefully though she would grow used to him and his families help and attentions. He knew they never meant to smother but sometimes they did.
Alas smiled and nudged the rabbit closer to Angelina letting her use her own nose to find it. She sat back and relaxed watching her son instead, it pleased her how he looked at the pup, with a protective gaze that told her she wouldn't spend so many nights sleeplessly wondering where he had wandered.

Angelina smelt the rabbit, growing in strength as Alas pushed it towards her. She did not hesitate to nose about the rabbit before biting into the large meaty part on it's hind leg. She took several mouthfuls before pausing and stepping back from it a bit. Hungry as though she was, it did not sit well in her stomach, perhaps it was the stress from the day, she did not know.
With a frown upon her head she voiced, 'I do not think I want any more, thank you Alas.' Alas was warm and welcoming and much like her mother, perhaps that's why she struggled with the idea of going to her, she did not want to confuse her thoughts further. Instead she turned about and caught the sound of Frey's bell, sounding softly as he settled down. She made her way over to him and slowly curled up next to him and without saying anything she closed her eyes.
