A sleek cream sedan pulled up to the front gates of Crystalview Academy for Girls, the plates clearly European. The windows were discretely tinted, to discourage those sorts of people that would try to peer at the passengers within, every inch of the shiny exterior screaming MONEY HERE! It was something not at all out of place for the affluent academy, and nobody would have looked up, had the door not opened and Kore made an appearance.

Totally clashing with the sedate colors of the middle-aged man and woman on either side of her, Kore Papadakis was a circus nightmare. Electric blue tights went up her long legs under a pair of lemon-coloured shorts, which were cinched tightly with a glossy cyan belt. A glowingly pink, yet surprisingly tailored jacket went over this ensemble, an almost demure pale shell about the same color as the car was her only attempt at a normal dress. While garish, her clothing was indeed very tasteful, and the cuts all fit her perfectly.

Not more than an hour later, after trunk after trunk was unloaded into the dorms by the staff, the man and woman emerged to reenter the sedan. Long goodbyes weren't for this family, not at all!

It was later that evening, that Kore was wandering around the grounds, a simple black leather hobo bag tucked under her arm. It looked almost as if she had no idea where to go or what to do with her time, but staying indoors would have been utterly unbearable.

From one of the many rows of windows high above the courtyard, a pair of eyes watched as the the cream sedan pulled up to the front doors of Crystalview Academy, lingering in a distant manner on the girl who stepped from the expensive car. Money wasn't uncommon at the school, known for it's well-off families and expensive equipment, usually the result of generous donations by the girls' parents. Always the best for their little pumpkins. There wasn't much that was different about this car either, if you ignored the vibrant clothes, and even then, it was obvious, even from that great distance, that they were quite the high quality.

From Rea's room, the view of the courtyard spread out like a picture before her, cream automobile and hot pink jacket practically glowing in the sun. The redhead didn't draw or paint, although it would be the perfect place to do so, and she was sure many of the other, more artistically-inclined girls did. As with most things in Crystalview, the lawn was well-kept and aesthetically pleasing, as well as showing off how expensive the school was. Seated at the window seat, the seventeen year old let her gaze follow the neon nightmare with an even, almost bored expression, although if you looked hard enough you could see a flicker of interest, her eyebrows furrowing just slightly in curiosity.

Truth be told, it wasn't uncommon for the older of the Marshall girls to wear a similar expression -- Rea wasn't exactly the most trusting soul, nor the most friendly. It was no different in this instance. After a few moments, the scout let her eyes drift away from the window, the vibrantly-dressed girl drifting just as easily out of her mind.

~~~
It was by shear coincidence that Rea happened to be out at the same time Kore was wandering the grounds, returning back to her room after dinner. Her eyes lifted to the girl she had seen out her window a few hours previous, and she paused, looking slightly surprised. For a few moments Rea just stood there, looking first surprised, then undecided before speaking up, giving the girl a mildly curious, mostly unamused look.
"What are you wearing?"
The girl had talked to her! Kore had seen her, and been hoping that someone would possibly take pity on her and say a few words, even if they were as rude as these four were. Holding out her arms, the Greek girl looked down at herself and twisted her hips lightly. "Clothing. Same thing you are." It was very very hard to not crack a smile and keep a straight face while she said this.
She was very aware of her style choices, and was quite familiar with the idea that absolutely no one understood her sense of style. It hadn't been all that popular in Greece, so why it would suddenly be better here in the Academy was a notion Kore hadn't quite passed by.
"Is there something wrong with it? I know it's not the uniform, but I am quite new here and haven't gotten mine yet."
Rea quirked an eyebrow at the girl's response, a small, amused smile curling the corners of her lips. Hm. Not what she would have expected as a response. At first glance, she hadn't thought much of the flamboyantly dressed girl -- she was an oddity that most Crystal girls probably would have avoided, at least until she was wearing something more traditional, in their eyes. In any normal circumstances, the redheaded Marshall girl wouldn't have given her a second glance. Something, however, had piqued her interest. Something small and insignificant and hard to place, but enough to initiate the rather rude start to the conversation. And had the girl said anything else, Rea probably would have dismissed her almost entirely, most likely not even attempting to hide her disinterest. She wasn't well-known for being polite to those she didn't know. And sometimes to those she did.
"You're right, that was probably a stupid question," She responded after a few moments, tilting her head to one side, books resting lightly on one hip. "It's... unusual, to say the least," She went on after a moment, her tone blunt but not intentionally rude this time, gaze more curious, "And I know. I watched your guardians drop you off."
Now Kore smiled, tucking her hair back behind her ear and straightening her coat a bit as the other girl finished speaking. "Not a stupid question, but one I am very used to. Certainly old enough to me that I've learned to be upset by it." Unless, of course, someone was incredibly cruel about it. Rude was one thing, but utter crassness would not be tolerated!
"Ah, you saw my parents. Did they leave too soon? Mama was quite concerned that they would seem uncaring, but I'm so used to being dropped off at schools that I didn't really think they needed to bother." She'd gone to boarding school in Greece as well. Almost realizing her own rudeness, the smile brightened a bit and Kore held out a bangled arm. "I'm Kore Papadakis, nice to meet you. Perhaps you could show me around? Tell me how things really work around here?"
Again, Rea shifted, keeping a firm hold on her books while her eyes stayed on Kore, listening quietly. "No, not any sooner than most parents here do," She replied after the story, stepping forward a little and approaching the girl, now that she had proven herself to be competent, "Especially if you've done this kind of thing before. The dropping off thing. The younger girls sometimes take a little longer, if it's their first time." She had kept a fair distance between them when she had stopped, not because she had ever thought the other girl to be a danger, but more out of habit. She never lead anyone under the false pretense that she was a friendly person.
Glancing at the hand for a moment, Rea smiled a little, taking it with little hesitation, after the initial consideration. "I'm Rea," she replied in a relaxed manner -- something a little unusual for the Marshall girl. It wasn't very often that she relaxed so easily around new people, being the rather distrustful girl she was. With Kore, however, with her bright smile and bright clothes, it was hard not to smile with the quirky girl. No, that was unfair to say. Quirkily-clothed girl. She didn't know the real Kore yet.
Again, Rea paused, this time at the question, although when she answered she was smiling a little again, eyes glittering in amusement. Normally a Crystal girl wouldn't be caught dead walking around with such a flashily dressed person, but Rea found she kind of liked Kore, despite not knowing her too well.
"Sure. Where do you want to start?"
"Yeah well, I'm not new to the whole boarding school thing. This one is actually closer to my family than the old one. Seems most well-to-do girls from Europe are bilingual in at least one language by the time they finish school." Again with the amused smile, as if it were some sort of joke that only the Poor Unloved Boarders could understand.
Rea seemed reserved, but not overly so, and that was good. Kore wouldn't learn a thing if all she got was the virgin rundown of the school! Being blunt enough to ask about her clothing meant she might actually divulge useful information on the Academy, and that was what Kore was really after.
"Hmm. I know where the dorms are, but what about the school buildings? Any ways out of here besides the front gate? Eatery would be good too, they were mildly vague on that one. Though," she put on a prim voice in imitation, "Ladies of quality should not be anything but slim of figure." She ended on a derisive snort. "As if that were always so easy!"
Rea nodded slowly, understanding Kore's situation well. What she said wasn't far from the truth -- it certainly wasn't uncommon for well-to-do families to send their kids to several boarding schools, especially if they felt that the previous school 'wasn't treating their precious child properly.' Sometimes it was just to find the best school possible. Whatever the case, she didn't doubt the statement, and didn't doubt that Kore had been to a few before. She seemed too relaxed to be new to the situation.
"Most of the buildings make a semi-circle around the main courtyard in the middle," Rea replied after a few moments, motioning over her shoulder with her head, "It makes it easy to find the class you're looking for. If you'd like, we can head over there later."
At Kore's imitation, the redheaded girl couldn't help but grin a little despite herself, amused by how blatantly she made fun of the type of girl they were both probably use to seeing. That suited her just fine. She couldn't stand most people, her 'own social class' worst of them all. To have someone to make fun of them a little was a welcome thing.
"Of course! How scandalous, thinking that Crystal ladies could eat more than a mouthful of anything," she replied with a slightly mischievous grin, motioning to her as she headed down the pathway. "Before a few weeks ago, I didn't think there was any way anyone could get in and out of Crystal without being seen." 'Not without being a senshi,' she thought to herself, continuing without missing a beat, "However... I recently found out that it is possible... whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen. Good for us devious Crystal girls, bad for our security, hm?"
