This is a thread for posing quarries about Cybertronians and their culture both in past, present, and future! In all AUs and Continuances! From family structures to burial ceremonies, all theories and questions are welcome as long as they stay within regulation of sight and Guild rules.
No question, or answer, is to silly!....Ok some are too silly! But that's no reason to be shy about it. Talk about anything concerning the fictional culture and socialites of Cybertron and its people.

Ok, I've got a question:
You know "boyfriend jacket" tradition? When a guy gives his girlfriend his school jacket or favorite coat? Well what would be the Cybertronain equivalent of that? Would it be something like changing their paint jobs to compliment one anothers? That's a little more like couples who get matching tattoos huh?
I wonder what kind of courting rituals giant alian robots have...if any. They probably do have some.

hmmm....
I don't really know if there is an equivalent to the jacket idea. The paint job switch is a believable idea, and any "tattoo" they would get could be taken off with a bit of elbow grease. biggrin
I'd imagine most of their interest would be expressed in energy. A little tweak on their energy field, letting literal sparks fly; that sort of thing. They could even adjust their internal temperature. A sort of "body language". Since they could communicate internally using comm. links, holding "romantic" conversations would never be difficult.
They wouldn't depend on touch nearly as much as people do or worry about what their parents would think. XD;
I think it would vary from the type of transformer they were. Like fliers have particular rituals, as do "ground pounders" You could even break it down into model types, like scouts, spies, seekers, etcetera.
It also depends on what kind of social system cybertron was.
Imagine being paired up with, literally, whomever was most compatible with your model type. People could be actually made for each other, down to the last detail! XD;

Hmm thats an interesting theory. I like the tatoo idea but wouldnt that be rather like the deceptecon and autobot marks? Mass bf gf groups or something? That would have to mean most of the transformers are gay...

What about knicknames? Coz it happens to be going around my school a lot and having a bizzare imagination i wondered about transformer knicknames. I am having difficulty imagining one for the leaders because we dont know what their followers say behind their backs. it could range from fond names to the most evil from-the-depths-of-hell names couldn't they. xd i imagin the most favorable one for starscream would be Dolt xp .

Maybe it's like Futurama (show me your circuits, baby!). I can't imagine how it would work, really... just seems funny to me.
I don't think they'd use nicknames, just because their names are already pretty short and nickname-esque.
I'm still stuck on the idea of 'bots being "built" for each other. For shits'n'giggles, do you think any of the 'bots were made for each other? (Outside of 'bots and their cassettes and gestalt members). If I were to make an OC, who do you think would be the best candidate to be "built" for?

Damn...I couldn't find it but in one of the episodes of the third season of G1 one of the mechs, I think it was Octane but I'm not sure, got caught looking at robo-porn! xd
And of course Rattraps constant lewd jokes and comments express that they do have some sexuality even if it is different from our own.

Well, I recall somewhere they say they don't have things like "mates", and when I think about....that and robots I just feel dirty plugging in things like USB ports and printers I mean ew, get a room and don't do it with my homework. (and no I've never watched anything like it, but the USB port in your computer is called a female port same with plumbing)
However, I'm pretty sure they're not emotionless robots, they can't cry but they show emotion so very well they can share these emotions with each other. I just don't want to know how.
My question is, like, we have holidays based on harvests and cycles of the sun and all that jazz, what would their holidays be based on?

I remember in G1 Spike was explaining holidays to them or seasonal festivities.

Well, it seems to be canon, Remember Rattrap talking to Cheetor? Fems walking around without a... I forget what exactly it was but it implied some sort of chestplate I believe. Sounds like Robo-Hooters to me. XD Bots made for each other... well, I dunno. Look at Ironhide and Chromia. XD
