Alrighty, a couple or so months ago, I asked my brother if I could borrow his copy of Neverwinter Nights. I just started PC RPGs, you see.

When I would play it, it would ALWAYS just....stop working every couple of minutes and then I would have to close it down. When I tried to load saved games, it would load...then the screen would black out and the game would stop.

I figured, my brother's copies are pretty scratched. I'll just get a new copy.

So I get Neverwinter Nights, PLATINUM edition, and it did the SAME thing!!!!!!

Does anybody else experience these problems?

That really sucks... Maybe your computer isn't strong enough to play it. Or it doesn't agree with something on your computer. I can't tell you for sure.

Hopefully you get it to work. Its a awesome game. 3nodding

I only spent a little time on that one before deciding PC gaming wasn't really my thing. I'll have to try it again sometime though. But thats never happened to me. maybe your brother just jinxed it O.o

Wow I've honestly never heard of anything like that happening before. That is entirely odd...

Perhaps the specs on your comp arn't compatable enough for the game?

Well hope you get that figured out soon.

honestly, if you are going to play a pc rpg like that, get the baldurs gate series or the icewind dale series. Both of those are really good and have very very few glitches in them unlike NWN, which even on really good gaming computers crashes for no reason. However the second NWN is coming out soon and that one should be a big improvement ^^

I played BG and almost beat it but my comp of the time crashed and killed the game. I am playing BG but i haven't beaten it because couldn't play it on my old comp (too slow). I would like to play neverwinter nights, the comp. i have came with a gamingh keyboard and you can get a set of keys for neverwinter nights to go with it.

The only time i ever had problems running a comp. game is when my computer was too slow and didn't have enough RAM

I totally agree.

Baldur's Gate has more interaction, better graphics (the art is lovely), better plot (NWN is "go here, kill that, find this") and far, far better voice acting.

Fans of the Horation Hornblower movies on A&E back in 2001 will recognize the villain!

uh i tend to disagree with you there as much as BG does have a better plot, story line and background music NWN has much better graphics and voice acting.. not to mention they have about twice as many classes. Given the fact NWN is made by the same company as BG, bioware basically just took BG, changed the name, upgraded the graphics and changed the plot.

Do a google search for any patches out for NWN. Whenever you try to play an older game that bugs out like crazy, the first thing you should always do is look for patches. You'll be amazed by how many times it fixes everything completly.

I've never played NWN. I asked my man to get it for me because someone mentioned it a while ago and he said "meh, I already played it. It was really crappy..." And since I value his opinion on all games except the Sims, I won't bother with it.

Maybe when the next one comes out, lol.
