Stasia knocked on the door lightly, stifling a yawn. Someone looked like they needed a nap. To be honest, she hadn't planned on getting out of the house today, as her oversized sweatpants and three-sizes-too-big t-shirt obviously showed. But, Zee'd called her and said he had a surprise or something. She couldn't quite remember; she'd been half-asleep when he called. She had her two blonde-headed, cookie-scented twins in tow, the eldest two deciding to stay home.

Ginger grinned, reaching around her mother to knock on the door again, rapping out a pattern before skipping back on one foot. "I wonder what kind of present Mom's pet boy got her." she said, looking over to her twin and ignoring the muttered reprimand her mother doled out. She giggled, nudging her brother gently with her elbow. "Maybe he got her something ro-maaaaaantic!" she said, drawing out the word in a rather childish manner.

Zemel chuckled, amused by his sister. "Well, we'll have to wait and find out, won't we?" he said, stretching his arms a bit. "And he's not Mom's pet. If he was a pet, he'd have a little bed in the kitchen like Circe does." Honestly, why did all his sisters except for Nataya call Zee a pet? It made absolutely no sense.

Zee had been waiting in the living for Stasia, smiling. He had a surprise, indeed. One that you couldn't put in a box or tie a bow on. The cabbage he'd been taking care of for weeks now had finally opened, with impressive results. Zee had never thought a clone of himself could be so cute. And in his vanity, Devin was cute.

He opened the door, said surprise following him like a baby chick. He appeared to be shy, and hid behind his father when Zee opened the door.

"Hi Stasia, Ginger, Zemel." The dark elf said with a smile. "Meet your surprise, Stasia." He said, before looking from side to side. "Where'd he go? Devin?"

The toddler frowned slightly, shyly moving out from behind Zee. "Hi," he said shyly. "Who you?"

Stasia offered a soft smile, kneeling down to the little guy's level. "Hello there, kiddo. I'm Stasia." she said, holding her out to the litte guy for a hand shake. Aww, the little guy was so ADORABLE! She was so taking him home with her, regardless of whether Zee planned to let her or not.

Ginger let out a little squeal of delight, clapping her hands together. "Aww, he's cute!" she said, giggling. That had to be the best surprise ever, even if it wasn't all mushy-gushy and romantic. "We can make a little bed for him in the kitchen!"

"No." Zemel said quickly, shaking his head at his sister. Sometimes, he wondered if she was all there in the head. He smiled at the younger boy, waving awkwardly. "Hey." he greeted. "I'm Zemel, and this is Ginger." he said, introducing them both since Ginger had forgotten to introduce herself.

Devin gave the three newcomers a horrified look before hiding behind his father again. "Thcary..." He said, sniffling. He clung to Zee's leg from behind. "Daddy..." He whined. Daddy would protect him, right? He'd make these scary people go away.

"He's a little shy," Zee said with a sigh. "It's alright Devi--this is your Mommy." He gestured to Stasia. "And these are your siblings, Ginger and Zemel," he added. "You'll meet Nataya and 'Zuba later." He tried to explain in terms a toddler could understand, but didn't seem to manage it.

"Thiblings?" Devin repeated, poking his head out from behind Zee's legs. "Mommy?"

Stasia felt a little guilty; she didn't mean to scare the kid! "Hey now, it's okay, kidlet. We aren't going to hurt you." She said, her tone soft and soothing. "And we're not scary."

Ginger stood behind her mom and brother, confused. Her, scary? How was that possible? She was a little ball of sunlight and giggles; Mom told her so! "So.....he's our new baby brother, huh?" she said, looking at the little one, curious.

Zemel gently pulled his sister back. "Don't crowd him, Ginger. Give him some breathing room, okay?" he said, offering a small smile. He then looked to Devin, knowing exactly how the kid felt. He'd been there, done that. "It's okay. I'm sorry we scared you." he said, kneeling down to get closer to the little elf's level. "We didn't mean to."

Devin blinked, and moved out from behind his father once more. He stood right in front of the older elf, just in case he had to run and hide again. "Mommy not thcary," he decided with a barely visible nod. Without prompting, he toddled to Stasia and hugged her around the knees. "Luv you Mommy," he said softly, before looking to Ginger and frowning.

"Thcary!" He cried, pointing at the blonde girl. "Thcary thcary!" It wasn't clear why he thought she was scary, though. But she was. His smile turned upside down when he set eyes on Zemel.

"It kay," he said with a nod. Then, without warning he moved from Stasia's knees to Zemel, and hugged him. "Brudder?" He asked.

Zee looked to Stasia, grinning. "No, you can't take him home," he said. "I know you too well. He's ours."

Stasia smiled, ruffling the boy's silver hair. "Love you too, kiddo." she said, stiffling a yawn. She then looked to Zee, offering an innocent smile. "I didn't say anything about taking him home, did I?" she said, using her usual sweet-as-honey-don't-suspect-a-thing tone.

Ginger frowned, puffing her cheeks out and crossing her arms. "I'm not scary." she muttered, sulking a bit. Psh, what did he know? He was just a little kid. She wasn't scary, no, not at all.

Zemel chuckled at Ginger's reaction, amused. He then looked to Devin, giving the toddler a hug. "Yeah, brudder, er....brother." he said, catching himself. "It's nice to meet you." It felt really odd not being the youngest. Not odd in a bad way, but....odd.

Zee rolled his eyes, and grinned at her. "I know you," he said, teasing. "Maybe he can spend the night, but not tonight. His cabbage only opened this morning. I don't want to overwhelm him." He explained with a nod. "It took a while for me to convince to leave his cabbage." The elf gave a sheepish grin. "But once he did, he's been quite nice."

Devin stuck his tongue out at Ginger. "Thcary," he repeated, pointing at her for Zemel's benefit. "My brudder." He decided, nodding at the older boy. "Play?"

He looked to Ginger, and gave her a smile. "Thcary play too," he said with a nod. "Thcary play, Mommy play, brudder play. Daddy play?"

Zee looked like he was about to refuse, but then he saw the look on his new son's expression. "Alright, I'll play."

Stasia gave him an innocent no-idea-what-you're-talking-about grin. "I understand." she said, then paused. "If we didn't want to overwhelm him, we shouldn't have brought Ginger along." she said, chuckling. "And you can't talk a baby out of his cabbage." she said, ignoring the fact that she'd attempted the same thing.

Ginger frowned. "I'm not scary! I'm Ginger...." she said, crossing her arms. Okay, maybe getting a baby brother wasn't as totally awesome as she'd originally thought. So not the best surprise ever.

Zemel smiled, nodding. "Sure." he said, tying not to laugh at Ginger. "So Devin, what do you want to play?" It was his idea, so he'd know what game to play, right? Right. He looked up at the adult, offering a small smile. It's was good of Zee to be a sport and join in; adults were so boring when they wouldn't play.

Zee frowned slightly, honestly he felt rather stupid having tried to get Devin to come out earlier. "He'll get used to Ginger in time," the dark elf said with a smile. "After all, I'm still getting used to her."

At Ginger telling him her name, he smiled at her. "Ginner?" He asked, with a tilt of his head. Okay, so it sounded different than what she'd said, but still. He was trying. "Thcary Ginner!" All fear seemed to have left, and he went to hug the girl who looked so much like his new favorite brother. "Luv you Ginner. Ginner play now?"

Devi paused for a moment, looking to Zemel. He didn't know any games. "You pick." He decided with a smile and a nod. "Brudder pick."

But just then, Zee interupted. "We could play hide n seek." He suggested.

Ginger smiled, hugging the little boy. "Love you too, Devin." she said, chuckling. "And of course!" She grinned; oh yes, she was up for playing games. Games were fun, and they were competitive, and they were a way to show that she was the number-one awesomest.

Zemel smiled at Zee's suggestion. "Hide and seek would be fun." he said, grinning. "Parents versus kids?" He smiled, then looked down to Devin. "Is hide and seek okay for you?" he asked, smiling.

Stasia smiled. "I have no problem with hide and seek." she said, pausing to muffle a yawn with her arm. "I'm all for parents vs. kids....you game, Zee?"

Zee frowned slightly, noticing Stasia yawn. "How about you rest?" He suggested, pointing to the couch. "I'll be seeker," he added, looking towards the kids. He looked back at Stasia. "You rest. You'd fall asleep in the middle of the game." He said, before he paused. He leaned in to whisper in Stasia's ear. "Come on, if you rest, I'll let you take Devin home." He promised, putting an arm around her. "And don't say you're not tired. You've been yawning since you got here."

Devin smiled and nodded. "Hide n Theek!" He agreed happily. "How play?" He asked, blinking. He'd come to the realization that he didn't know how to play. But however it was played, he knew he'd be the best at it.

Stasia frowned. "I'm fine. I'm playing." she said, her tone carrying a hint of finality, daring him to tell her otherwise.

Ginger smiled. "Well, there's the seekers, then theirs the hiders." she said, starting her explanation. "Seekers count while the hiders hide. Then, the seekers try to find the hiders. The last one they find is the winner." she said, smiling.

Zemel nodded. "Hey, are we gonna play with a home base or not?" he asked, looking back to the adults. Cause, if they were playing with a homebase, they'd have to explain that to Devin, too.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 30, 2009 4:33 pm

Zee knew there was no use in arguing with Stasia, tthough he didn't seem to agree with her. "Alright, but still. I think it'd be okay for Devin to meet Nattie and 'Zuba tonight, he seems to be doing better now that he's gotten to know these two." He gestured to the twins with a smile, before looking at Zemel. "Nah, home base isn't any fun." He commented. "Let's play freestyle."

Devin nodded, taking Ginger's explaination in as well as any toddler could. "I win!" He decided aloud. "I win I win!" It sounded easy enough. The hiders hid and the seekers, well they seeked. Sought. "Daddy count!"

Zemel nodded. "Free style it is." he said, smiling. He stretched, glancing around for some pre-game scopage. Hm, where were the good hiding spots, and how long would it take him to hide there?

Ginger giggled, ruffling Devin's hair. "No, I'm gonna win." she teased, offering one of her bright smiles. She looked to the adults. "Can we start already? You guys aren't getting any younger." she said, her tone just as sweet and innocent as could be.

Stasia frowned at Ginger, then looked to Vate. "Ready to start, then?" she asked, trying to ignore her daughter's comment.
