Kairu was wondering around his home land. He was very young still and it was pretty hard to get away from his mother, but today she was busy with other members of the pack as well as his siblings. It wasn't like he was going to cause any trouble or anything, he just wanted to explore a little.
He had managed to teeter his way around the swamps that were right by his den.. he didn't really want to travel far from his den. He knew his home was safe but it would make his mother worry. She was shuffling his feet around in the mucky wet land when he spotted another cub. She was obviously a little older then he as she was a fair bit larger then him. She had some pretty colors though, he decided he had to meet her. He began to walk towards her.

Tahki had been exploring on her own, as usual. This little lioness was a cub of action, always out and about on her own meeting others and going on crazy adventures. Crazy as far as a small cub was concerned.
She hadn't really gone that far out though today. Usually she wandered out in the thick of the swamp, but some how today she ended up near a den area. Strange , she'd never known a den had been here before. Oh well.
Thats when a small black male cub caught her attention. Interesting... She'd never seen him before. Tahki smiled and jumped her way over towards the boy.
"Hiya~ Who are you?" The dark fur, shed seen another lioness with similar markings before. That lioness had brought her home to her mothers cutting her demon lizard hunting to an abrupt halt.
Tahki's tail twitched a bit at the thought.

Kairu studied the other lion. She was quite bold and outgoing it was a refreshing change. "Hi I am Kairu" he told her, "That's my den there behind you." he smiled at the other lion.
"Who are you?" he asked the lioness. He studied her markings, in his family the only markings that really showed up was the hour glass marking that he, all his siblings and his mother had.

Tahki smiled down at Kairu , damn she couldn't place it but she knew she had seen a lioness with those markings before. It was a long time ago... as far as a cubs concerned, she couldn't remember the lionesses name. Drat.
"Nice to meet you Kairu, " She pawed at the smaller cub playfully, "I'm Tahki." The blue white cub puffed out her chest and strutted about showing her self off some, "I'm a great explorer and hot on the trail of some demon lizards. Can I recruit you to help me find their base so we can destroy them before they taint the very being of our swamp?"
Yeah, Tahki was one for an over active imagination and tall tales. Tahki couldn't help watch the male study her. Was she really that awesome of an adventurer ? Had he heard about her before? Tahki puffed her chest out even more, proud.

Kairu really was dazzled by this cub, to begin with she was someone roughly his age who wasn't a sibling of his... perfect playmate. And to top that off she had such cool colors. He had a fair bit of color in his family with the pink and purple but she she had blue!
Kairu suddenly realized that this cub knew his mother. One night while he lied awake after his siblings had fallen asleep his mother had told him the story about the first cub she had really met since she had been a cub. It was a cub here in the Swamplands. She hadn't given him a real description but told him of the brilliant imagination the cub had, his mother had found this cub quite interesting.
"OH Tahki, I have heard of you." he said quickly, then realizing he was making little to no sense he continued, "You know my momma." he smiled as he thought of his mother. "She helped you fight you lizard demons one day. "Her name is Semira... she looks kind of like me but she is all black and she had red eyes." Kairu really hoped this cub would remember who his mother was.

Tahki took a step back, how did this boy know her name. Was he the lion she'd met so long ago ... oh. His mother. Phew.
"For a second there I thought you were going to say you were a lioness that turned into a boy cub." She giggled, "Yeah I remember your mother, she helped me with demon lizards a while bac-HEY!" The cub chimed and crouched down into a playful manner, "YOU can help me catch some lizards if you want ! "
It was a grand idea, the two could catch all sorts of demon lizards and torture them until they decided not to be lizards anymore. The plan was fool proof except... Tahki really was not a grand hunter. Adventurer yes, hunter, not so much.

Kairu laughed when the other cub suggested he was going to say he had gotten younger and changed from a girl to a boy. That just wasn't possible was it? He shook his head, no no it couldn't be possible, Kairu was a baby and he was a boy one of those would never change.
"Fight lizards? Why are you going to do that. Can you teach me?" Kairu always wanted to learn no stuff.
Kairu's mind went back over what she had said to him, "Wait my mom helped you?" Kairu found this hard to believe, his mom was a quite soul, not someone who would go around hunting demon lizards.

Tahki nodded, "Yeah your mom helped me, but we didnt get to far. She had to take me back to my den.." The cubs tone was a little dry at the end like she was disappointed that she had to go back to the den.
"And sure kid, I can teach ya." The blue white cub puffed her chest out, "After all I am a great explorer."
She strutted off towards the brush and turned around giving the cub a smart a** smile, "Well ya coming or you just gonna stare into space. Lets go~"
With that Tahki was off sprinting through the wild brush of the swamps.

Kairu wasted no time and took off after Tahki. He looked in every direction as they ran, he had never been this far from his den without his mother by his side, he hoped that she wouldn't worry too much about him, he would explain later that he was making friends, and that he never left the swamps.
As Kairu ran he kept his eyes open incase one of the bad lizards popped up. He thought it would be impressive if he managed to find a lizard and attack it before she taught him anything, but so far he hadn't found anything. "Where are we going" he called out to Tahki, he wondered if perhaps she knew where the lizards all gathered. He felt very proud to be protecting his home, he had to do everything it would take, particularly for his mother, she was just getting comfortable here.

Tahki had no idea where she was going. The cub was making this up as she went along.
"Were going on adventure my friend!" She called back to her new companion. Tahki dodged trees and brush quite well. She jumped over a log and splat. Mud greeted her on the other side.
The lioness just splashed about in it more. Mud had never bothered her in the least. Quite the opposite, usually Tahki's fur was caked in mud from her playing in it.
"HEY ! SIDEKICK~ COME PLAY IN THE MUD~" She splashed around in it and giggled madly.

Kairu had no hesitations to run and jump into the mud, he just made a mental note to try to clean up a bit before he headed home to his mother, he didn't want her to have to deal with his fun.
When he leaped into the air he curled his body into a ball so that when he hit the mud he made as big of a splash as he could, it made an awesome Splat noise as he sank in. He came back to the surface and looked at his new friend, "Gotcha" he roared with laughter when he rose fully and saw that he had managed to soak his friend with the splash he made in the mud. He had never spent much time in the mud but he was learning quickly that he liked it quite a bit. All thought of hunting the demon lizards left his mind as he squished the mud between his toes on his paws.

The lioness was now even more covered in mud. She didn't mind though, infact, she enjoyed it.
"Hey!" The lioness squished a bit of mud beneath her paw making a ftttt sound. She paused and blushed. It sounded like Tahki had just farted.
"U-uhh," Tahki blinked, and took a step back, "T-that was the mud." She felt her heart throbbing in her throat. The mud had betrayed her and it had to be the work of some demonic lizards. Oh boy, they were going to get it when she got a hold of one.

Kairu looked at the other cub, she was covered in mud it was kind of funny. When the ffft noise was made in the mud Kairu laughed, he had known that it was just the mud that had made the noise, but seeing Tahki get all bashful about it was amussing in a way.
He then felt sad for her, she didn't like seeing others in discomfort, so he stuck is paw into thicker mud and managed to make the same noise but louder. He giggled, it was great fun. He smiled at her, "That was the mud too..." he laughed.
Splashing through the mud, he waited till she wasn't expecting it and he ran and tackled her. As they hit the ground, he looked at her, "What do you think... would that be a good move to try on the lizards?" he smiled and jumped up.

Tahki smiled when he made the mud make the same sound. She didn't feel quite as awkward.
"S-sure it was, " She didn't have time to laugh as she was tackled . The blue white cub looked up at Kairu in amazement, she hadn't even seen him coming. Was he trained in the art of lizard fighting.
"YEAH!" Her energy returned as mention of her passion, lizard hunting, was uttered, "I don't think the lizards would know what hit thim," She giggled and splashed mud at Kairu.

Kairu smiled at the praise. He felt very proud that he was catching on so quickly. He would have to tell his mom when he got home, is mom would be so proud of him. She would be happy that he had made friends here at home.
"I am glad I am getting it." he said with a smile. He flipped his paws around in the mud making it make little bubbles. "So what now?" he asked the other cub. He wondered if he was ready to take on the real lizards now, from the way she made them sound these were a big threat.
