The morning dawned a steel gray and Torvil shambled into the kitchen, his hands fumbled with the broken coffee maker and after some fighting managed to get the thing to run.
One cup of industrial strength coffee later Torvil was taking stock of their home once more. Rubbing his eyes to remove the last of the sleep from them he yawned and ran his fingers over the wood of the counter top.
After so much trial, tribulation, torment and trauma they were finally home, now all they had to do was reunite their family ...

Morgana stepped out of the bedroom yawning herself. She was so use to being up early, that sleeping in actually felt worse. Rubbing at her eyes, she moves over to the couch as she drapes herself over two spots. With her head resting on the back of the couch, she looks at Torvil with a small smile. It was good to be home again, where they no longer had to worry about a war that could hurt or even kill them.
Just outside their apartment door, a package was left on the ground. With a simple knock, the deliverer turns and walks away. Within the package, the item squirms then stops moving altogether.
Lifting her head, Morgana arches a brow before she looks back at Torvil "Were you expecting someone Torvil?" she knew she wasn't expecting anymore, not even the crew. They were given the next week or so off at this point.

"No, I'm not expecting anyone," Torvil said after taking a long sip of his now half full coffee. "In fact, I know for certain that nobody is supposed to come over today."
Torvil moved over to the door, placing his mug on the hall way table as he flipped the locks on the door, and pulling it open and looking around.
He spied the package and knelt down, picking it up he pulled it into the house and headed toward the living room.
"Love, did you order anything lately?"

Arching a brow, Morgana shakes her head alittle "No, least not that I remember." slipping off the couch, she moves towards the front door. Glancing down, she blinks as she finds the package was address to her. Did she forget that she ordered something, and now its being delivered to them.
Leaning down, she gasp as the package moved again. Picking it up again, she pulls at the wrapping slowly "Oh no.." as the paper fell away from the package, her eyes go wide as she see a cabbage.
Looking towards Torvil, she found herself speechless. It was just like the cabbage that their daughter Nirendra came from.

Torvil took a long look at the cabbage in her hand and then lifting his eyes to meet hers he asked the question he felt was pertinent.
"That's not our Nirendra is it?" he reached out and ran a finger across one of the nearest cabbage leaf. "I mean, we were gone for so long ..."
Torvil felt a sudden twinge of guilt for being away from his daughter for so long, it struck him to his very core and it was all he could do to not chase the delivery man down and ask him what he knew.

Morgana had the same thought in her head, until she saw the card. Lifting it, she read the card slowly "Iara...Torvil, I don't think this is Ren. I think this is another child." stepping away from the door, she moves towards the couch once again.
But if this was another child, that meant that Ren was still with her niece. Chewing on her bottom lip, she closes her eyes before taking in a long deep breath. Running her fingers over a single leaf, she wasn't too surprise this time when it moved.
The cabbage seem to realize who they were, and that they were her parents. But the other person they were talking about, she didn't have a clue as to who that was.

Torvil followed and took a long deep breath. "Then that means ... That Ren is still with Nani." He turned and looked toward the door and then down at his clothes. He was still dressed in his night wear, which was a simple t-shirt and pajama pants.
"Let me get changed and then I will head out and find her, Nani's place isn't too far ..."
Looking at his wife he smiled. Besides, he needed time to stretch his new abilities, the last thing he wanted was to start getting headaches again.

Morgana shakes her head before she looks towards Torvil "Maybe it would be a better idea to call Torvil. I mean we don't even know if she will be home. At the least, calling would give her time to prepare for us." she thought of Nirendra again, wondering if she was still a cabbage, or if she grown.
The cabbage fell still again, just taking in the voices around it. They were both very soothing at least. In fact, it found the voices reminded it of the water. After a moment, the cabbage once again started to move. Its leaves swaying slowly.
Reaching over, Morgana picks her cell phone up off the coffee table before she holds it out to her husband "Why not give her a call, see if she is home. Maybe find out what she wants to do?"

"Yes, calling is best," Torvil said softly as he moved over to his wife. Walking softly on the plush carpet of their apartment, he reached out once more to gently run a finger along a leaf of the cabbage. "That way I will know for certain if I have to run out farther than I am able at the moment." He laughed.
Rolling his shoulders he groaned a bit, his body was still sore from their wild adventure of war and the chase that had ensued afterward. Not only that, but his head was starting the tell-tale throb of another one of his fits about to start up, and he'd really would like to be able to stretch his abilities out a bit to prevent it from being a full on fit.
Turning to his wife he smiled reaching out he took the phone with a nod and dialed his niece's number, putting the phone to his ear he smiled at his wife. Torvil listened to the to the ringer on the phone, watching his wife and the new cabbage.
"How do you think it came to pass that another of these comes to us?"

Morgana didn't seem to hear her husband at first, she too was also trying to figure this out. After a moment, she finally shrugs "I am honestly not sure, maybe the company decided we were good parents? Maybe they thought we needed another child?" she honestly was just speaking out loud at this point.
As Torvil touches the leaves, he could feel the cabbage move in reaction. If it could speak, it would be cooing. It was nice to know that it least had someone that was nice.
After about the third ring, the phone picks up on the other end "Tinania speaking.." in the background was a child's laughter. What child though, it was hard to figure out.

"Hello Nani, it's Torvil, how are you?" Torvil asked with a smile as he bowed his head to his wife. Yes, any of those could have been a completely possible answer to why they received another cabbage from the company.
But he wasn't quite sure, and would leave that to a later thought.
"Are you well?" He continued, having only spared a second of thought to the reason why a second cabbage had appeared. "How is Ren? Are things going well with the family?"
Torvil suddenly grew quiet then, knowing he was barraging his niece with questions and not giving her time to answer.

Tinania couldn't help but laugh at her Uncle "Yes I am well, been busy to say the least. Ren is fine also, she been enjoying her time here with Seiji and Lexi." she pauses before she looks towards the little dragon child. She forgot for a second that her aunt and uncle didn't know this Nirendra "I'm glad to hear your voice, it means I no longer have to worry about you two."
Morgana remains quiet as her husband spoke on the phone. Standing slowly, she picks up the pot holding the cabbage and moves into the kitchen. Setting it down onto the table, she moves towards the sink. Grabbing a glass that was use for water, she turns the faucet on for a moment.
Turning it off, she turns back towards the cabbage holding the full glass of water. Pouring it carefully into the pot, she finds herself chuckling at the cabbage squirms. She knew that it meant it like the water.

"Yes, all is well, we'll have an interesting story to tell you all to say the least," Torvil chuckled softly as he slowly sat down on the couch, cradling the phone against his ear to hear better.
"Ren is having fun? Last I remember her she was still a cabbage," Torvil said trying to mask the pain of guilt that fluttered again in his chest at the thought of missing such an important growth in his daughters life.
"How is she?"

Morgana glances over at Torvil, her eyes going wide for a moment. Wait was he saying that Ren grew? Chewing her bottom lip, she quickly looks away. She miss something huge in her daughters life, and now. What would the child think of them?
Tinania wasn't really sure how to answer that, as she felt bad that they didn't know Nirendra the way she did. After a long pause she finally sighs "She grew the day after Morgana left her with me. She is beautiful and an amazing child. Full of life, and enjoys playing. Just like your normal child."

Torvil nodded and realizing Nani couldn't see that, he spoke again. "I see, that is good. When would be a good time to come by and pick her up?" He knew that Ren might not recognize them, but he was willing to try and pick up where things had left off. After all she was his daughter, and he loved her deeply.
Looking up at Morgana he bowed his head slightly, realizing that it would probably hurt a lot when Ren came back home but to Torvil that was a risk he was willing to take.
Given time he knew it would be good to have their family back together, he would just have to focus on the positive and then it would be less of an issue. After all, how often did you get a chance to reunite with someone you had left to try and save your people for.
Granted if he could have ended his involvement any faster he would have come straight home.
