Asenath: She was an adult now. Her mane had filled out nicely and so had other parts of her anatomy. She had grace now thanks to her training as a huntress. She stepped lightly barly making a sound as she walked. She'd turned out rather beaitful having her father's salmon mane and her soft coloring.
She padded out of her den and smirked toward the royal dens. She hadn't seen the prince in a long time. Too long. She was about to go on her first big hunt and she hadn't even gotten a chance to show him her skill.
Didn't they make some kind of promise? She paused for a moment before deciding to move up to visit the prince, wondering if he was still the lazy brat her father thought he was. She was curious if his mane had filled out. He had been older then her.
Jaron: "GET.OFF."
Jaron's voice would be difficult to miss. Aside from the roaring laughter of his father, it was just about the loudest sound to be heard in the royal dens. The younger lion, his mane having filled out as much as could be expected of a young male, lay on his belly. Rotem sat lickinging at his paws casually, chuckling now and then at his son's plight.
"You old geezer!~"
Rotem: "That's not very nice." Rotem made a 'tsk tsk' sound and waved a claw in the boy's face. "You should respect your elders. You owe me dinner."
Asenath: Well if that didn't sound familiar then nothing did. He used to tell her that. She smiled as she approached the den still being respectful of their king. That was Jaron alright. Rude as ever to their elders. One look at the situation and all the formalities died. She started to giggle putting up a forepaw to try and stiffle it. No wonder he sounded so upset.
Jaron: It didn't take long for Jaron to register the soft giggle. It certainly wasn't his father's. The small hope that it had been his mother, Adara, died as he rolled his head to look up. Oh great.
"....uh....Haha. Good one, Dad. I'll remember that move. Thanks for showing me, you're great really."
Rotem: Rotem didn't catch on. Or he did- and pretended not to. "Well well, if it isn't Asenath! Good morning."
Asenath: Asenath stepped a few feet into the den and bowed her head. "King Rotem... Prince Jaron..." She greeted casting Jaron another amused look. "Good morning... I came to see if Jaron was free for a bit but I see you're teaching him how to be a proper warrior." She couldn't help poking at him while she could.
Rotem: Rotem threw his head back and howled in laughter. "Come now! The daughter of Eyal doesn't need to waste formalities on me. We're practically family. Isn't that right, son?" Rotem reached down to tug at one of the younger lion's ears.
Jaron: "...right." Jaron groaned.
Rotem: "See?" Rotem sat himself upright, still effectively pinning his son. "And that's exactly right. Pride comes before the fall. And the 'old man's' backside."
"...gee, thanks Dad."

Asenath: She let out another giggle. Poor Jaron, maybe she should rescue him from the older lion. "Dad always has formalities in his mind. You know that. He can't help it..." She shakes her head slightly before sitting. "I couldn't help but over hear he owes you a dinner..." She started tactifully. "Well it just so happens that he owes me a hunt... you remember our promise, right Jaron?"
Rotem: "Oh is that right!?" Rotem leaned down against Jaron a little more, one paw reached out to bat at the boy's whiskers. "Already making promises to the ladies! Kind of a weird date. That should be your next lesson. I took your mother-"
Jaron: "Dad it's not a date!" Jaron protested sharply. He threw his paws under himself and gave one powerful shove backwards. Unfortunately- Rotem didn't budge. "Guh.. I can't believe she remembered that."
Rotem: "Well fortunately you're not -that- bad of a hunter. You do remember to thank your kills don't you?"
Jaron: "Yeah yeah..."
Asenath: The lioness lowered her head in light embarassment. A date! She'd never even considered such a thing. She was too busy with her training and the pride as short on younger males. At least that she'd met. "Its just a promise we made a long time ago... He promised to let me hunt a zebra with him when I became a huntress. That's all..." That wasn't date-like, was it?
Rotem: "Well then." Rotem rolled himself off Jaron's back at long last and pushed himself to his paws, "You'd better make good on that promise. Bring me back a leg or something- you lost a bet."
Jaron: Jaron sneered and slowly shoved himself up to his paws. He didn't answer. Instead he spent a moment licking the dirt off his mane and paws.

Asenath: Asenath wondered what kind of bet but supposed it had to do with the wrestling. "Thank you, Rotem. I'll make sure we do." She moved over to the older male, coming around from behind him before moving to his front, her tail flicking. "Shall we? I want to show you what I've learned." She said proudly and rather smugly. After all she considered him better then him by now. After all she was a trained huntress.
Rotem: Rotem offered a short nod. "No worries. I have some buisness to attend to anyway. You two keep safe- and don't stray too far from the boarder. You've still not found your totems so just... keep an ear out. You never know."
Jaron: "Yeah yeah." Jaron sighed and gave Asenath a shrug, "Guess so... lead on."
Asenath: "Thank you..." She called back to the king. "I'm sure I'll be fine. I've got a strong prince to protect me." She shifted her gaze over to Jaron and smirked at him again. She didn't need much encouragement. The huntress made her way down the den, fighting to keep the childish excitement of the promise away. She wanted to appear as grown up as she could. After all she was no longer a child. She paused everyonce in awhile to look over her shoulder and wait for him, tail swaying gently back and forth before continuing on.
Jaron: Jaron walked along behind her. His only response to her prior complement was a roll of his eyes.
He didn't seem to have much to say until they came to the edge of the pride's lands. The lush folliage slowly faded into dry, golden grass and brush. Beyond that- Jaron could only guess. He'd never gone beyond the dry lands. "Alright... so miss huntress- why don't you point out your favorite hunting spot and we'll go from there."
Asenath: Asenath looked over to him and put her nose in the air. "Fine, follow me. My aunt told me where the zebra were just he other day." She started through the dry lands, leading him out. She had snuck out here enough before her hunting lessons to know her way around let alone after. This was all one back yard to her. Every once in a while she found heself studying Jaron. He had grown into a fine young lion but she kept jerking her eyes forward.
She was thinking too much about it. He was just a boy. "We're almost there..." She slowed down shifting her weight so she became more silent. "There should be a herd up ahead..." She tested the wind then started moving downward so they wouldn't be smelled out before they were ready.
