User Image The day was a bit gusty as a small white and rainbowy filly huddled close to a hollowed log. Her wings pulled in as close as she could get them so they didn't feel like they were being torn from her shoulders. Oh it hurt and she didn't like it, why did the wind have to blow as it did. Small currents slithered through the trees, making old limbs creak over head. Some snapping and falling dangerously to the ground, once or twice almost hitting the filly. A whimper escaped Itzel as she closed her yellow colored eyes against the wind that blew into her face, ruffling her bangs across her face. Why didn't it stop already?

Shaking her head to clear her face of her bangs, she stood, shaking and headed towards a place she hoped would be calmer from the winds that blew. Head low, she looked around, wondering where her mother, father and siblings were. Probably somewhere, where it was calmer and the winds didn't blow so hard. Then again, perhaps they were somewhere not so calm. Itzel wished she knew, the further she moved the winds almost seemed to have a mind of their own and started to calm. Perhaps they just read her mind? Who knew, she surely didn't, nor did it seem that she wanted to know in the least. For now, she was just focused on finding her family, quietly of course...

It was days like these when Aubril would look at the sky and wonder what use wind had in the world. All it seemed to do is mess up her mane, or on a bad day, tear leaves and twigs from the trees and drop them on creatures' heads. She didn't like it either, but for different reasons than Itzel; though it didn't hurt her, it sure made it hard to see where she was going when mane and leaves were whipping around her face.

Aubril stumbled through the underbrush, getting angry and frustrated with her inability to see clearly. She had lost track of her parents and siblings some time ago, and for all she knew, they were miles away already. She was about to give up when she suddenly burst through a bush and into a bit of open space. Finally she could get a look around, but it didn't really help when everything around was strange. Though there seemed to be a pale shape moving not far away. There was no time to stop and study the sight. If she didn't keep moving she would lose it. The filly hurried to catch up, hoping that shelter was not far away.

Stopping and turning her head against another gust of wind that blew down in between the trees. Man, did it ever stop? Apparently not as the gust gave way to a shower of colorful leaves, ones she would love to play in if it weren't so windy. Ears twitching, impossibly, she looked towards the bushes that rustled. Maybe it was just her imagination, but she thought she might have heard something. Turning some, the wind pulling at her wings with ghostly hands, Itzel headed towards where she thought a noise had come from. Not even passing the bushes she heard it again, someone was there, someone small like she was or smaller...

"Sister?" she called, though her voice seemed taken by the wind and tossed elsewhere, "Is that you sister?" She tried again, a little louder hoping it would reach whom ever was out there.

Head bobbing a little, Itzel's tail tucked itself close to her body. She wished that her wings could be brought closer. She hated the wind when it was like this, surely there would be better days, but as of right now... She was really tired of being slowed down where the rest of her family were safe else where.

Dried leaves were almost sharp when they were blown with such force. They seemed to burst like a seed blossom, raining colour all around. Aubril squinted, the glow becoming twin narrow strips on her young face. She wished she could intensify the glow, but that only happened involuntarily and usually when she was mad. Though she didn't know how much that would've helped her see when it was things and not the level of light making it hard to see.

Catching up, she finally realized she had been following Itzel. Her sister must have noticed her too, because she seemed to look around before calling out. Feeling a sense of relief Aubril dashed towards her, wincing a little when branches whipped at her sides. "Itzel?"

The smaller filly stumbled to a stop among the foliage. She looked around as she approached. "You're lost too?" Aubril was hoping that Ashia and Wystan would be with her, but the fact she found anyone at all was a relief.

Shaking the hair from her eyes as she looked back as her wingless sister bound towards her. How did she make it look so easy? When ever she tried moving like that in this wind, her wings acted like sails and dragged her further backwards then forwards. Stepping backwards a bit she met with her sister to hear the questions that had been asked and she nodded, apparently they both got lost from their parents and sister.

"Yes, this wind keeps dragging me backwards. And these wings don't help me either." She looked back to her wings, as she did, she spotted a place they could get out of the wind. "There's a small cave over there in those large rocks, maybe we can get in there and out of this wind." She suggested to her sister, though it sounded like a good idea.

Turning against the wind once more she stumbled through the bushes, minding to try and not injure her wings, oh their father would have a fit if something happened. Finally, Itzel made it to the cave, well it looked small from where they had been, but here it was huge! There was plenty of space in there for them and perhaps the rest of their family if they were still in the area and not further into the trees where the wind was less... Strong. It would work, at least until the wind died down some.

It didn't occur to Aubril that wings would be a bane in the wind. To her wings always were a sort of novelty; beautiful to look at, and useful for getting around if you were lucky enough to be able to fly. But as she watched she could clearly see Itzel's struggle against the wind. What would a torn wing feel like? Aubril didn't want to find out, for her sister's sake.

"Anywhere is good!" Aubril said, eager to reach the shelter before something could happen. Before a sidelong gust almost sent her toppling, she spotted the small cave. Good thinking. By the time she knew where they were going Itzel was already on her way there. Following close behind, Aubril wished she could help her sister along somehow but the bushes were too thick and she was forced to stay back.

When they reached the cave she was equally delighted at it's unexpected size. "Whoa," Aubril said, starting deeper in to look around. She flicked her hair back happily. Finally she could see clearly again! "Nice find." With that she plopped herself down in a corner to rest for a moment.

Collapsing in almost the middle of the cave, Itzel let out a sigh as she was glad the wind was outside the cave and not inside. Shaking the hair from her own face, she looked over towards her sister and smiled. It had been a good fun, at least here they were out of the weather until it cleared. "It was a nice fund, at least here we can rest until all this lets up and we can find mom and dad." She smiled, exhausted.

"How did you get separated from them? My wings were making this complicated for me to moved, was the wind making it hard for you too?" Itzel tilted her head to one side a little getting back to her hooves and moving over to be close to her sister. "I hope that wind lets up soon. Who knows how far away the rest of the family are..." As she looked back towards the entrance of the cave, a flicker of light flashed, oh dear. Itzel didn't like that not at all. "I have a sinking feeling that we won't be getting too far.." She might have been right as a thunder clap rattled the stones of the cave.

Aubril felt a little better almost immediately after lying down. It seemed quite in the cave even with the whooshing of the wind outside. The sound would have been almost calming if it wasn't for the boom. Swallowing nervously she was even more glad to have found Itzel. "H-hopefully they aren't far away... Maybe they'll come looking for shelter too and find us," Aubril spoke up, trying to sound reassuring for the benefit of them both.

She looked away from the entrance to the cave. Maybe that was just a one time thing and not an oncoming store? Aubril thought about how she got separated instead. "It was after we lost you, I think," she said, settling into a comfortable position. "It was so windy and confusing and I could hardly see where I was going... I got caught in a bush and that's when I lost mom and dad." The filly shook her head, her expression a little sad. "I tried calling for them but they couldn't hear me over the wind."

Itzel cozied up close to her sister as the thunder shook the stones, she tried hiding her face from the sound, but it still resounded in her ears. Shaking her head, she looked back towards the entrance of the cave. Why did it have to be stormy today of all days? Fluttering her wings a little she looked back to her sister, sadly.

"Oh, With the wind as it is, it's a wonder they could hear anything past its howls." Itzel sighed laying her head down upon her knees. "I can only hope that someone will come back to find us. For now, I'm too tired." Her eye lids fluttered closed as she dozed a bit, the storm outside seemed to kick up even more. Throwing rain a few inches into the cave, while the branches outside really whipped about.

"It's nice we have someone to find us at all... I can't imagine what would happen if we were family-less..." Aubril shivered a little in fear, before she forced herself to think better thoughts. Sleep was a good idea, and Aubril's eyes were feeling heavy too. She stayed awake longer, watching the rain desperately try to reach into the cave and always falling short. But soon the even sound of Itzel's breathing lulled her asleep too.

Cracking a eye open just a bit, Itzel looked at her dark colored sister for a moment before closing it again. Shifting somewhat, a wing fluttering out and resting at her sister's side. "Someone will find us, wait and see." She said sleepily, shivering against the coldness of the rocks. Wishing that they were with their parents...

Short legs propelled the small creature through the bushes and ferns. Small forelimbs were pulled in close while its nose scuffed at the ground. The little Norora was on the hunt, not for anything to eat. No, it's bond was worried about someone, the norora had only seen one of the THREE kids her bond had. Teal colored eyes blinked past the rain that fell, her light colored scales growing slick, making it much easier to slip through narrow passages in the undergrowth. Runner was on the hunt for her bonds missing kids, they had to be there somewhere, she had had their scent a moment ago... Stopping a moment, her head raising to the wind, she sniffed.

Something struck her nose when she did, baby? Runner's small head turned to one side then to the other, but where? raising herself up just a bit more, Runner spotted the odd cave and took for it. Where they there? She hoped so, or this hunt would be endless for the small Norora. Talons clicking against stone, Runner peered into the entrance of the cave, she didn't see anything... Stepping further in, she started to notice two shapes in the back of the cave, one had WINGS! Perking up, Runner scampered forward, pressing her wet muzzle first to Itzel's side, whom only stirred, but didn't awake. Giving a small huff of a hiss, she tried Aubril. This time, Runner wasn't kind, coming to Aubril's side, Runner aimed to stuff her cold wet head under her side, hoping to wake one or both... Somehow...

Aubril was dreaming. Her legs shifted a little in her sleep, ears wiggling now and then. She dreamt that they were in the cave, all of them dry and safe. But then the dream took a dark turn. The water outside kept rising and rising until it came into the cave, drowning them all. She whimpered in her slumber.

Suddenly the filly felt something very cold and wet pushing into her side. The water was coming to get her! She awoke with a squeal, looking up sharply. Breathing hard in panic it took a moment for her to notice Runner's presence, and that what she felt had just been Runner nudging her awake. She let out a relieved sigh, heartbeat calming down. "Runner you found us!"

Getting to her hooves Aubril walked to the mouth of the cave and looked out. Then she turned to look at the Nonora. "Is momma coming?" She asked hopefully, wondering if Ashia had sent her.

Upon her sister's screams of fright, Itzel leaped to her hooves and looked around. What the heck was going on! She was having a nice dream too, one of flowers and MEAT! Pale eyes looked around the cave, the rain outside still pouring down by the bucket full. The wind had died down some and wasn't blowing the rain into the cave anymore. Small wings fluttering at her shoulders, she looked to find that it was only Runner that had frightened her sister. That one certainly did have a way with scaring people. Shaking her head and calming even her own breathing and heartbeat, Itzel joined her sister looking out the cave entrance and into the wet.

"I hope mother is coming, it's getting late and I'm getting hungry..." Though she could really use something more then just grass and roots that her mother showed them that they could eat.

Runner followed the girls to the entrance of the cave, even her own head poking out the entrance. Head turning sideways and tilting up quite bird like, she headed back out into the rain. She had found the ones her bond had sent her to find. Now she had to head back to Ashia and lead the frantic mare back to the girls. They were safe where they were, she would be back sooner then they could maybe think...

After all the running around in the bush she did, Aubril was feeling a bit peckish too. Though she didn't have the same aversion to grass and roots as he sister. She ate just about anything she could reach. Aubril stayed at the mouth of the cave until the Nonora left. Was she going to find momma? Or maybe Opaline was missing too. Either way she hadn't acted like they should follow, so Aubril planned to stay put.

"Mmm yeah, something to eat would be nice... Like those herbs we found in the valley." The filly sighed happily, imaging the taste. Aubril may have been small, but she had an appetite that could rival just about anyone. She drew back into the shadow of the cave, her yellow eyes glowing somewhat eerily. "Or maybe some sweet grass." The dark youngster plopped herself back down but stayed awake to watch the entrance this time.

Itzel too headed away from the entrance of the cave and over towards where her sister was laying. But she remained standing, giving her sister an odd look. Sweet grass? The thoughts made her want to gag, but she kept the reaction to herself. She was hoping there would be some mice or something more meat like on the menu, hardly... Shaking her short mane over her neck, the cold was getting to the cave again and it was making her shiver.

"I hope she come soon, and that Father and sister are alright." Itzel shivered laying back down and shuffling close to Auburil, "I just know I will hate the cold after this, I really will.." Eyes closing again, Itzel looked to get a little more sleep while she waited. Sleep was good!
