The Crown of Ancient King’s lays in wait past the roaring seas. It hides beneath the sky ocean’s temple, waiting. Waiting... The start of the Phantom Thief’s vacation had been nothing if not interesting. After all the nonsense with Krad’s psychotic daughter he had been glad to hear of the rumor. The rumor of some strange island far out in the ocean bearing some ‘fruit’ that he simply had to taste. Finding the place had been no easy task either. No not at all. He had flown to the very peak of the mountains to try and catch a glimpse of the practically invisible path that he would follow. He hated the mountains. He stuck out like a sore thumb on the rocky terrain and he wasn’t too fond of the nut jobs that lived on them.
His crimson eyes drifted to the side and he smirked. Perhaps not all the inhabitants were so bad. There had been a pretty prize waiting up on the barren summit after all. It seemed his luck had finally taken a turn for the better as he had stolen himself a new traveling companion. An angel. Well, a high angel really, he too bore feathered wings but unlike the fair female flying near him he would never have a place in the heavens. He was far from a holy creature. It stood to reason, though, that unholy beings like himself had more fun.
What holy beings would take part in his line of work? What holy beings would fly out past any visible land just for the chance at stealing something from a temple? None that he knew of. This made his life more fun, to him at least.
Out in the distance something green had appeared, growing out of the great vast ocean. “There it is...” He announced with an anticipatory smile. Every beat of his wings brought him a little closer until he could see the form of the small island that was virtually in the middle of nowhere. It was shaped like a large, deformed crescent moon with multiple smaller islands dotting the edges. A great green jungle covered the center of the main island and several ruined structures littered the landscape. This was where he’d be taking his ‘vacation’ with the lovely lady he’d scooped up.

They were almost there. There flight seemed to have lasted hours but the land was just coming into view. Terentia was traveling with a stallion that she had met a little while before. She learned about a island which she has great interest in studding. She loved to learn about different places and cultures so this place was right up her alley. Seeing the green landscape she started to descend and soon she found herself galloping on the grounds.
She looked around for her traveling partner before she made her way over to him, she was so glad to be here finally and could not wait to start the journey, she did not question his motives for being here at all she was a trusting creature although she had met a few who did not deserve such a blessing. With black orbs she started to look over the landscape before turning to Dark.
"Which way?"

The black winged thief blinked a few times at the sudden whooshing sound of air moving. The confusion he experienced faded quickly as he saw the form of his traveling companion moving towards the island. He chuckled lightly at her eagerness to arrive. If he didn't know any better he would say that she had just gotten sick of him.
Not feeling any particular desire to keep her waiting he quickly swooped down towards the island. Ordinarily He would be sad to be touching down again but the moment his hooves hit the sandy ground a sense of relief washed over him. He chalked it up to the fact that they had been flying for a few hours straight. Using his legs again gave the muscles in his wings a chance to relax.
"Which way?" He repeated while folding his wings to his sides. He glanced at the mare out of the corner of his eye, she seemed completely serious and he laughed lightly. "Anyway you want. This is kinda a 'no rules' place...perfect for a vacation." The tone of his voice was light and joking but the look in his dark crimson eyes was completely focused and serious. While it was a vacation away from the stresses of his normal life it was also a job. A job that he wasn't sure where the goal was...yet. "Let's just explore for now, alright?" He suggested turning his head away from the scenery to smile at the ghostly mare.

"Its so warm here, not like my home. If we are in no rush I would really like to find some place to cool off please."
She suggested to the stallion, living in the snow for so long had a affect on her, her cat had grown longer and thicker and now she was just really realising it, the warm sun beating down, she was also very warm from the long journey. Giving him a nice and polite smile she looked around before closing them to hear the sound of flowing water.
"It sounds like there is some kind of water near by maybe we can cool off there for a bit. I have no doubt you are also tired from the long journey."
She stated before waiting to hear what he wanted to go. After all she had agreed to come here with him. So now they where here there was nothing to say they could not enjoy the island a little bit too. It was rare she would come so far from her own but she was sure her precious duties and mountains where being taken care of. Everything was put in place. I guess she was hoping this trip would keep her mind off of things.... give her a break for a while.

He chuckled a little at her suggestion. It was so very rational really and it came as no real surprise to him. The girl had come from high altitudes after all. The hot and humid air of the sea level island must have come as a rather large shock for her. Still, it was a vacation and resting just wasn't on his mind at the moment. It wasn't as though he could, however, just deny the request of a pretty girl.
"Sure we can. Let's just go find our little island oasis then." A familiar flirty smirk played across his lips as he strolled past the angel mare. His tan ears twitched about as he turned his head to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. He could just make out a few splashes and a faint trickling sound. "It's this way." He winked at the pretty mare before heading towards the assumed position of the water. She had good hearing it seemed, it could prove to be a problem.
He shrugged internally. That just meant he'd have to be a little more careful that was all. "Nothin to worry about."

"Thank-you, I usually not tired so this is a one time thing I promise."
She stated not really wanting to think she was helpless. The strange trees, and the bugs that where flying about just did not seem normal to her, she plodding along by the side of him before she saw in font of her a much wanted sight.
"Hey look Dark, there it is!"
She called as she ran forward to the waters edge before she started to shake off her ribbon, it was so awful when it got wet. So she had gotten into the habit of leaving it at the side when she was bathing, after all its the only clue she had to who her real parents where, even though she did not really want to find them, out of respect she wanted to keep it in good condition.
After she had flipped off her golden veils, she took a step into the water trying to to disturb it too much, her long hair in her face now nothing was to hold it back, she would have to wait till she got back to her teepee, for her two legger to once again put it on properly.
"Its so cold."

So it was. Before Dark know what was happening the mare had left his side and was rapidly approaching the waters edge. He fought back the urge to laugh at her. When she had said that she wanted to cool off he had imagined that she was a tiny bit warm but her speed suggested that she was rather hot.
He watched her from where he stood as she removed the golden wrap from her head. He was definitely going to have to go with 'hot' as a key descriptor for her. Not wanting to give his perverse mind any time to wander at the moment he forced his legs to carry him forward to the shimmering liquid.
"I thought you liked the cold." He teased before dipping his right foreleg into the water. He cringed inwardly. Tere hadn't been kidding. Considering that they were on an island in the south the temperature seemed a bit off. He wondered if it had something to do with the trees surrounding it. His eyes wandered around the area looking over each tree and only pausing for a moment on an odd crumbled structure near one bank. "Weird..." He muttered before moving away from the land and into the chilled liquid not caring about disturbing it.
"C'mon, it's not getting any warmer ya know." He grinned at her and winked.

"Thank goodness for that because I am afraid if it did your companion would soon be turning into a turkey. "
She smiled as she stepped further into the water until her belly was touching the layer. Her long hair was covering her face madly, like it was more of a veil than anything else. Lowering her head she started to take a small drink from the liquid and even though it was not the cleanest or refreshing water she had ever let into her mouth, it was suitable and appreciated for what she felt. She would soon get used to this place, the thought of knowledge out weighed her discomfort. She smiled over at Dark and started to go towards him.
"So Mr. Mousey. Tell me, such a young and colourful character wanting to find out about this ancient people. Seems a little unique. Infact if you where not the one to approach me about such a place, I would have never guess you to be the kind of person to share my first of knowledge, so tell me what you find to appealing about the temples in this island. Are there any more surprises?"

Even though the joke was lost on him the purple maned stallion chuckled anyway. He had a keen sense for humor so even when he didn't get a joke he could recognize it for what it was. He watched her body slip into the water for a moment before turning his attentions elsewhere. As much as he wanted to observe her it was a decidedly creepy move to keep staring. He had the entire trip to be stealing glances at her, after all, why spoil that by weirding her out?
Following the mare's example he lowered his lips to the water and drank. Unlike her water was water to him and he didn't find it had much of a taste to bother him with. When he heard the water sloshing around to the side he shifted his gaze to see what was going on. What he saw was Terentia coming over.
A smile crept over his lips and he continued to drink pretending as though he hadn't noticed. He could have given off a very 'cool' impression had she not chosen to speak the words that made his throat clench slightly. He pulled away from the water quickly and started coughing quietly to clear his airways. "Just Dark." He murmured trying to play off the situation as purposeful before thinking more on what she had been trying to get through to him in the first place.
How was he supposed to answer that? It wasn't like he could just tell her that he was looking to rob the place of it's valuable. The obvious choice was to lie. "Well ya know, I just couldn't stay away. It's so nice here. Real beautiful and I imagine you know a thing or two about beauty." At this moment he winked at her with a cocky smirk. "As for surprises...I bet there will be." He didn't imagine she would understand the true meaning behind his words but that really didn't trouble him at all. He had no troubles keeping her in the dark.

"Perhaps. However beauty is not really something I pay much attention to. I mean everything is beautiful, everything we see even though some things hide it more. So if that is the case is everything is beautiful there is no need for the words because nothing is ugly, or at least that's what I always have been told."
She smiled and nodded as she rambles on, she was someone who left with the chance would go on about the littlest thing forever. She had always tried to kick the habit. Having a feeling she bored people easy, alas some parts of her personality where there to stay and this phantom thief would have yo put up with her little quirks this whole vacation.
"I have to say however I have never been in a place like this before. I was starting to think the whole world was covered in snow and clouds. Its a change but I am sure I will get used to it soon. Where do you live Dark? are you used to these places?"

Dark stared as the mare went off on a tangent. Not sure how exactly how to react to her little speech of sorts the phantom thief offered up an awkward, forced and little smile. She was cute but it seemed that she had completely missed the point. He sighed almost noiselessly and stretched his wings out into the water to cool them down. At least she was cute, not a natural flirt like many of the mares he entertained but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
When she began speaking once again he wasn't even fully aware of what she was saying for several moments. He had lumped her words into her previous ramble and it wasn't until he heard the question that he fully tuned in.
"Where do I live?" He was a bit taken aback by the question. This was because it had no definite answer. At one point he might have considered that place his home but that was long ago.
Not wanting to dwell on such unhappy thoughts he just chuckled. "You could say that." He said with a smirk. "I travel, a lot. Ya get used to strange sights living like I do."

"It must be nice to travel the lands, I have never really left my mountain home besides now. You see as I slept inside my basket basket I was left there by my parents. I was left to die and was close but then my adoptive mother found me and took me in. I guess for some reason they bring me comfort because there familiar and I feel a strong bond with them. The spirits seem to be at their strongest there. It must be because we are so close to the stars. One day I would like to see heaven. Maybe if I ever become a elder I will be able to fly into the stars."
She smiled giving another small little speech as the water started to drip down her hair, half of it was laying on top of the surface floating because it was too long to hang over it. Her black voids looked on at the handsome stranger the soft smile that she had showed since the moment she had met him was still bright and caring. The bright sun was beating down and the blue skies gave some kind of a calm to this foreign land which seemed so full of life. The mare looked around one last time before addressing the stallion once more.
"well should we be off?"

"Woah woah woah..." He said with a humoured shake of his head as she went off in a speech once again. "Too much information." It was taking a good deal of self control not to laugh at the white mare. Every time he answered or asked a question he was assaulted by a storm of information that he didn't care to know. His curiosity was limited to treasures, basic survival, and very little else. To him Terentia was just a pretty face. She was a nice little light on this trip and he didn't care to know how this little light shone in the past or planned to shine in the future. It simply didn't effect him.
At the end of this trip, after all, it was likely that they would never meet again. He gave her the once over again and nearly felt a small pang of regret in his heart. It would be a shame to see her go. She was a real beauty after all.
"I guess so." He replied casually drawing his cool and soaked wings back to his side. He grimaced lightly at the feel of the wet feathers and shook lightly trying to rid them and the rest of his coat from a little water. "What d'ya say we take a little stroll around the island, see what exactly this place has t'offer." He shot a cocky grin her way before turning to look around once more. There was a shift in his expression to a much more focused look. As pleasant as a 'little stroll' would be it was his intent to do a bit of recon while they were out. It was time he started his work.
First step: find what needs to be found.

"I guess so, I am sorry I have always had a problem with rambling... there is hardly anyone to talk to where I live. So when I get the chance I cant stop myself. I guess I get a little lonely at times. I think that's one of the reasons I can here with you Dark, I wanted some company for once."
She stated with a small sigh as she looked at the floor. It was true and even though she hated to admit it, she was on her own most of the time, for a growing women like herself that was not too much of a good thing. It mean she could not bloom into the women she was meant to be, she was restricted by her own home and limitations; however that was life and one of the aspects of the job. With so many downsides it was a wonder she stuck to it. She admits sometimes she wonders herself. Sometimes she wishes she never started, however that was something strictly kept to herself.
"Okay then Dark, lets walk then."
She smiled and nodded as her dripping body came from the oasis, she shook gently her mane and tail flapping wildly, before she waited for him to lead.
