What's your favorite thing someones ever told you after a show? For me it was when we did Les Miserables and I was Theandier the mother of the little girl who played Little Cosette came over to me and said "I hope you wont take offense of this, but you play one of the slimest, wicked, horrible, bad guys i think i've ever seen." I was just so happy. I've always wanted to be the best of all the villans and I finally got my chance to do it.

"Hi, my name is [name] and I'm with a theatre company in New York...I have to tell you, you were the best one up there; I see great things in your future!"
Whether he is from NYC or not...definately a floating moment. xd

After performing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" recently, there's been a lot of talk amongst people who have seen it. From what I've heard from other people, almost everyone has mentioned my role as Nick Bottom in a positive light. Some have even said that I perfectly fit the role. (Compliment or not? XD)

Also, the most flattering was when one of the cast members told me that she had a few friends that would like to meet me after seeing the show. I still haven't met them.

Well, I'm more of a techie...My directors refuse to cast me because I'm also in colorguard. But I think my biggest compliment was when one of the directors told me that I was the best prop mistress that she'd ever worked with. that made me smile alottle. And she also complimented me and the one other girl on costume crew on the costumes. We had to sew sequins onto every article of clothing...Never...Ever do that. Ever. It's absolutly horrid.

The best compliment I ever got was from a friend who came to see one of my longform improv shows and afterward he argued that it had to be scripted, or that some parts were scripted because "there's no way you guys made that stuff up on the spot."

My best memories of post-show compliments are definitely after "Streetcar Named Desire" when I played Blanche. Apparently my phone number was wanted by a cast member's brother (he never ended up getting it), and I was told by several people in the audience that I had them weeping by the end. A very positive way to end a nightmarish production process!

For our last show our director couldn't be there for the last two nights so she wrote notes to each of us for us to open before the last show when we were in circle up. For you to really understand mine I have to explain something to you. I do sound, but I have never been 100% at it. My predecessor was amazing. he could figure out any problem imediatly. This show pushed me to the edge so much that I ended up laying on the floor saying "I want ((person's name))" multiple times. My card said she loved working with me, hoped I had a good time doing sound, and that I lived up to the standards of my predessesor. It made me want to cry.

Ken Livinstone(head of theatre and one of the biggest and more renown director's of his time) and Margot Dione(master class teacher, been in "Witches of EastWick" and like.. a dozen other movies) came up to me after a performance of "The Monkey's Paw"
I had just had my audition for the theatre program in college that I'm in so I was really nervous that Ken was approaching me. (Only had it the night before)

Ken - "You really want to get into the program don't you"
Me - "Yes sir."
Ken - "... ... I'll see what I can do."
*smiles*
Me - *dies and happiness*
Margot - "You remind me of Susan Sarandon when you act. Very subtle and elegant. I love it all."
Me - *dies again*

I had never been so happy in one night. ^_^ Not ONLY was I hand picked for the program that I auditioned for but Dione complimented me. Now she's my prof and Ken is on first name terms. He introduced me to Christopher Walken over the summer while they were fishing in St.Georges. *dies even more*

Random woman: (approaching me following curtain) "Hi...uhh..I just had to tell you this. You did an wonderful job."

Me: "Oh, well thank you very much. I'm glad you liked the show."

Random woman: "Yes, the show was great, but you were the best on that stage. You're the only one I really got."

That last sentence spoke volumes to me. If you understand the importance and difficulty of character development and realism then you understand why that was possibly the best actor compliment ever.

When an elderly person tells me i've done good gets me too. They've probably seen a bunch of other shows and entertainers and when they compliment you it's very flattering.

It was either during "The Importance of Being Earnest" when everyone complemented me on my stage makeup (I ACTUALLY looked old!), or during Carnival when most people told me that I had more onstage chemistry with the lead actor than the lead actress did. It's so hard to say things sarcastically online.
