To be honest, T'ka wasn't quite sure why she was leaving. All her friends were here in Ista, and few though they were in number, they more than made up for it. Shards, she wouldn't admit to it, but she felt an ache in her chest. Leaving. She was leaving...not that she couldn't come visit. She would come back as often as she could get away with, Ista would always hold memories for her, but...it was time for something new.

The Weyr was far, far too crowded. And though wherever she was going couldn't be much better, it had to be better than here. She didn't particularly like the idea of being in a Weyr headed by Favan, but...it couldn't be helped. Hopefully that crazy woman wouldn't cause too much trouble. T'ka wasn't one to complain, she only hoped that Favan would be tolerable. It was asking too much to hope for more.

She wasn't leaving just yet. Hopefully she still had a sevenday or two left here, at least. Not that she had much to pack, she owned very little, but...she wanted to say goodbye. Soak up everything she could with her eyes, because it seemed unlikely that she would ever again call this place home. She scolded herself for being sentimental, but she felt she could afford to be. One didn't make these choices lightly. But if there was a possibility of relieving some of the population stress on Ista, and of bettering her own condition, and making Haanyath happy...T'ka felt obligated to do it.

She relaxed on her bed, head resting on her hands, which in turned were nestled into her pillow. She had kicked off her shoes, which now lay dejected on the floor. She would pick them up later, she just wanted to think for a while. Tracing the invisible pattern of the ceiling with her eyes, she sought comfort for her strange emotional affliction in Haanyath's calm.

Speaking of the moody green...she was not so moody, not at the moment, anyway. She was sunning herself on the ledge, blue eyes closed. Haanyath, unlike her bonded, was not terribly sad about leaving. Who needed Ista anyway? Haanyath's loyalty to the Weyr was slim; she needed her rider, and that was it. Weyrs were overrated. She would miss Khunoth, and Astarteth especially, but really, Haanyath knew she could easily speak to them, wherever they were.

Of course, she didn't take into account that fact that, after a couple of days or non-communication, she would forget about them unless reminded. Not any fault of her own, of course; Haanyath was simply subject to an especially poor memory, even for a dragon. But she was a dragon, so that also meant she could teleport. They could visit when they felt so inclined. Haanyath fully intended to come back when she could. After all, her siblings lived here. She couldn't say the same for the new Weyr she was going to live at. Too bad. Only superior creatures could be related to her. All those other dragons...well they just weren't as good, were they.

Sensing her rider's unease, Haanyath sent a wave of calm her way. <>

T'ka sighed. She hoped so. She sure hoped so...

Kallista stopped at the door to her weyr. She had seen Haanyath sunning herself up on the ledge which meant that T'ka might be in the room. With them receiving different wing assignments and being on different schedules, the two green riders had only seen each other in passing and then at bedtime. She pushed the door open and noted that her friend was lying on the bed though she didn't appear to be sleeping.

Kallista tossed her jacket on her chair and sat down rather heavily on her bed. She had heard the rumors that suddenly seemed to be truth. Favan was getting her own Weyr. Ista was being split up. The green rider had no clue exactly where the new Weyr would be at but one thing was for sure, many that she knew were leaving or planning on it. Including her best friend. She wasn't sure if she should say anything. So much had happened since they really had the chance to stop and talk. Flights. Hatchings. Wing Assignments. A little despondent, Kallista laid down and looked over at T'ka.

"So... First time we both haven't collapsed into sleep in a while. I am free for the rest of the day... Wanna do something?" The teenager thought maybe they could take their greens hunting or just sit and talk. Whatever.

Astarteth was quiet, which was unusual for her. Normally, she was bragging about how wonderful she was or how the sun was just right or how it would be nice to swim. As a green, she didn't have to worry about the mechanics of the Weyr. So long as hers was happy, so was she. But Haanyath's was quiet too. Trying to make her mind work, she managed a question to her snarky sister.

Is something wrong with our riders?

Kallista's appearance tore into T'ka's heart. Kallista. Her best friend, she would be leaving her behind. They hadn't talked in a while, sure, but...that wasn't to say they couldn't now. In fact, T'ka immediatly became dead set on making the most of her time left at Ista, and that meant spending some quality time with Kallista.

T'ka sat up, smoothing her hair and blinking a few times, as she surfaced from her deep thought session. An honest to goodness smile, if a small one, touched her face, and she nodded softly to Kallista. "I would like that," she admitted, a hundred and ten percent sincerely. "In fact, there's nothing I'd like more." She stood and stretched out her limbs, she'd been laying down for quite a while, longer than she'd meant to.

"Perhaps we could go to the beach? The weather's nice at the moment, and I know Haanyath would enjoy a swim," T'ka informed. "Not that we'd have to swim, of course," she added, recalling her friend's disdain of water.

Haanyath opened a dull blue eye, and yawned, quickly flashing brilliant white teeth before sealing them away again with a 'snap'. All these human things were silly. Being a dragon, Haanyath couldn't think far enough ahead to worry about the future and being alone. Astarteth and Khunoth were here now, so why should Haanyath worry?

<> Haanyath drawled lazily. She pondered getting up, decided against it, and closed her eye again.

Kallista watched as T'ka sat up and started gathering herself together. It was a good day for just straight flying. Sometimes, Kallista choice to just fly instead of blinking between everywhere; there was a lot that could be missed by blinking to one's destination. A smile played across face when T'ka made the remark about swimming.

"No worries. I have been...working on it. Slowly. There may be dolphins if we head to the beach. I know a cove just north of this little hold that has terrific citrus fruit. Maybe a swim and then drop by there?"

She looked over her appearance and decided it was clothing that could hold up to whatever they were going to do. After all, it wasn't like they were going to a Gather. "We can catch up on all sorts of stuff."

Haanyath's comments reassured Astarteth who decided that indeed the weather was nice and if it could not be controlled, then it was not worth paying attention. The sun is warm and the ledge is large even with your bulk on it. A swim would be nice though.

As much as it made T'ka happy to hear that Kallista was overcoming her fear, it also saddened her. She hadn't know that until now. How was it that they had become so distant, when they bedded in the same place? It showed just how much she had to catch up on, and the idea of a day off with just Kallista and the entertaining entities of their greens was quite a pleasing one. "That sounds good to me," she admitted. But if they were going to go swimming...she would like something a little less like a full body suit. Despite Ista's heat, T'ka was very good at finding ways to cover as much skin as possible. However, all that clothing wasn't very good for swimming, and if it was just Kallista she was out with...she figured she could be a little more revealing.

She hop-stepped to her clothing chest, and opened it, to snatch up a tighter, more form fitting shirt and some nice shorts, and quickly peeled off her current garb to pull on her newly selected attire. If they were flying to the beach, they didnt' need to go between, and for that she was thankful. Between meant riding leathers and lots of layers and things that she would only have to take off upon arriving. This way she could slip on a thin coat and not worry about supplies. "Haanyath, we're going to go out for a bit. I need you to get up so I can put on your straps," T'ka called over her shoulder, even as she produced the riding straps.

Haanyath stood up happily enough, excited at the prospect of a day off. Getting away from the Weyr was always good. Haanyath didn't like Ista. Although to be fair, it was unlikely she'd be happy at any Weyr, but since Ista was her current residence, her animosity was directed at it for now. Always having to have the last word, Haanyath couldn't resist replying to Astarteth's goading, even as Hers set about fastening the riding straps and all the gear necessary for basic flying. <> she snorted haughtily. <>
