Since that nightmarish day Hikaru and Kaoru had encountered those dark twisted twins, their own true personalities had finally surfaced. The realities of how the real world worked now weighed heavily down on their young shoulders, and they had no idea how to survive it. Now as they headed in search of the two that could've killed them all too easily, Kaoru's eyes remained focused ahead while Hikaru continuously glanced around and over his shoulder.

"Kaoru...is it really that wise to seek out the ones that...did that to you..?" He motioned to his twin's scarred side, then to his own face. "And this to me..?"

"We must Hikaru. They know how this world is and we don't. They could've killed us easily had that Ligron not stepped in. We have no choice now..."

Hikaru caught up to his brother, now walking about level with him. Since that horrible day, Kaoru had changed. Weather it was for the good or not was still up in the air. He certainly was more aware of things now.

Kaoru watched Hikaru catch up to him, then gave him a nudge, smiling a little. The way his brother had become a bit paranoid worried him greatly. Finding the dark twins could help both of them. Or kill them.

Hikaru stopped short, swallowing hard as the dark twins approached them from the shadows. He forced himself to stay next to his brother. He would not be dead weight this time. Those scars he'd suffered were because he was a chicken.

Kaoru stopped as well, but showed no fear unlike his twin. His face held a strong determination that he'd not known before. "We were looking for you two." He moved closer, but kept enough space to be out of range of those deadly tails. "We want you to teach us how to survive. No matter how harsh you may be, we'll fight for it."

Hikaru moved closer to his brother, starting to lose his nerve. He'd never wanted to do this, but Kaoru had insisted. "Maybe both..." Looks to his brother.

Kaoru stands his ground firmly, watching as one twin blocks any escape attempt, the other that had given them the scars looming over them intimidatingly.

"Speak up brother...your the one that came up with this idea..."

"You can kill us..." Notes Hikaru cower. "...or you could create strong allies. With your skills and brute strength your unstoppable...with training we could be assets in battle..."

Unable to quelch the rising fear in his chest, Hikaru let out a whimper as one spiked tail swished right over his head. That thing had already done so much damage...seeing it again was like a nightmare to him.

Kaoru sighed to himself, seeing his brother, and hearing him. Hikaru had always been more fearful about most things than himself, but if they were to act strong, he couldn't act like that. Kaoru jabbed his elbow into his brother's side to signal him to stop, then rolled over to his back to show he knew his place.

Hikaru went silent the moment he was nudged, then followed suit, remembering seeing others do the same to those higher than them.

Hikaru rolls to his belly and pads over quickly, not wanting to anger this scary monster of a lioness. His tail nearly moved between his legs, instead swishing to and fro.

Kaoru was up as quickly as his brother, moving to the spot Persephone had motioned to. He waited, listening intently for whatever she'd tell them to do, ears pricked up.

Hikaru woke from another fear-filled dream, only to remember he was living his own little nightmare. As the days had slowly slipped painfully by, he'd began questioning his brother's sanity. Sometimes he pondered just letting him stay here to be killed and at least try to run. But at the same time he knew it was no use. He peered over to Kaoru now and huffed, feeling sad once more upon seeing the scars he'd endured to save him. "Oh Kaoru...what did we do to deserve this...?"

Kaoru had never truly fallen asleep himself. What plagued him the most, though this whole thing was a nightmare, was the overwhelming training they were put through almost twenty-four seven. His muscles had become bruised and both their bellies had grown smaller. Through all of this he never cried. His face remained emotionless until the lionesses were out of sight. Only then did he cuddle closer to his brother and nose him to show some sign of comfort. "I don't know Hikaru..."
