Alenisgi was beginning to wonder why she had signed herself up for this festival thing. Yes, she was glad to have a new home, but she couldn't help but feel like she was going about her 'adjustment period' in the wrong way.
She didn't know any one. Which was fine, usually, because she didn't like knowing people unless she was helping them, but now she had to fight them?
Weird.
But for all her outward appearances she was, inside, excited at the prospect of these duels. It would be a fantastic way to learn more about herself and those around her, as well as help her to figure out her place in this new Clan of hers.
She spotted her opponent up ahead and tilted her head.
"You're just a kid," she pointed out matter of factly, though he did look a bit older than 'just' a kid. She imagined that would ruffle him enough to start the fight, though.

Aw man! A GIRL? Seriously? And she called him a kid? Well, whatever.
"Dude, I have to fight a girl? Maaaaan, that's,..." He trailed off in an inaudable murmurr. "Well fine then,..let's get started."
Waikiki lightly swung out his paw for a soft 'bop' to his oppenents head. Hey, she was a girl after all! He didn't want to hurt 'er.

Alen was not going to be condescended to, particularly regarding her gender. She tilted her head at him, though, her face failing to reflect her irritation at his comments. It was just her general, apparently perpetually depressed frown.
The bop on the head did little to improve her appearance.
But she lashed out at him with a sturdy swing of her paw, smacking him right in the face as if to slap him and teach him a lesson for going easy on her.
"You're going to have to try harder, little boy."

"Hey, heyyy, now need to be touchyyyy!" Just like the little boy she had said he was, he sunk his torso down to the ground, and left his hind end up in the air, letting his tail wave around playfully, before feigning a leap at her, and again, lightly bapping her.

Alen watched him, tilting her head. Her eyes reflected some amusement but it seemed her face was just totally against the idea of letting her thoughts and feelings be seen clearly. She remained impassive, with a heavy air around her, looking almost pensive instead of excited as he pounced at her.
But then he just bopped her again and she grumbled.
"This is supposed to be a real fight," she reminded, nipping at his leg in order to remind him that she wasn't going to hold back, even if he didn't want to hit a girl.

Alen caught his paw in her mouth, chopping but not trying to draw blood. It was more of a really assertive pinch between powerful jaws and big teeth.
Yanking her head, she dragged him a bit before dropping him and bouncing over him. Prowling around him, she watched him keenly.
He was interesting to her.
"So you don't like to hit girls, huh? But girls sure do like to hit you," she prodded, her voice lacking any specific tone.

Waikiki stood himself back up and shrugged. "Yeah, maybe. Hey whats that!" Waikiki looked avidly at a spot in the sky behind his oppenent, in an attempt to sucker her in to looking way, and then ddeliver another soft BAP!

She looked! She couldn't believe she fell for his little ploy, because it was so obvious. Even her stoic demeanor wavered, a grin creeping across her muzzle. It was there for a shadow of a moment, though, before flickering and fading as quickly as it had appeared.
She shook her head at him and lifted her paw, curling her fingers into the lion equivalent of a fist and then bopping it down straight onto his head.
It was a light hit, echoing his own movements. If you couldn't beat them, join them? Or something like that.

Waikiki seemed used to getting hit by now, but the lightness of it didn't go unnoticed.
"Hey heey, someone's goin' sooooft!" He said, prancing around her and booty bumping her roughly.

She watched him, squinting a bit, but her eyes were soft in her amusement. Shaking her head, she swung her bottom right back at him, bumping into his hip as he was coming off of bumping her.
"I'm not going soft, I'm just playing by your rules," she said, shrugging her shoulders as if she totally wasn't having fun with this little duel of theirs. It was like a character study, really
She liked it, and wondered what surprises he had in store for her.

Waikiki chose the comical route, and when bumped back, he fell into a roll, ending with him on his back.
"Awww. Well alright then!" He flipped back over, stood, and shook the dirt out of his furr.
Then, bounding like a playful gazzel, he mad his way back to her, and jumped on her with all his weight, before nipping and tugging at her ear.

"Ooph!"
He was surprisingly heavy, and she noticed that it hurt a bit more than any of his previous 'attacks'. She couldn't quite reach him, however, with him on top of her and effectively keeping her pin. She rolled and tried to pin him under her. She only managed to squish his paw under her and the dirt, though, which wasn't much by way of an attack.
"Leave my ear out of this!"
