For real? I was surprised not to find these guys.lol
Behemoth is a Blackened Death Metal band that formed in '91. Formed by their lead vocalist Nergal,amazingly when he was 14 years old.Played straight black with satanic themes 'till Satanica in '99.They now play thelemic and occult themes.

Im a Behemoth fanatic, and i mean CRAZY fanatic. Love them cuz Nergal has such powerful and philosophical lyrics and they're music is so EPIC!!
So ya post your thoughts and discuss.
Oh and I consider them mostly Death, so if im wrong im sorry mods XD.
Edit:lol so i suck at making threads, i dont do it 2 often. Some recommended albums are Sventevith and Demigod imo.

I saw Behemoth at Tuska a few years back. They were awesome! Orion <3
I don't like the very early Behemoth. I prefer stuff from Demigod and just before it ie Satanica, Thelema.6 and Zos Kia Cultus. I also didn't really like the new Apostasy or Evangelion albums...

Could anyone exactly explain why Behemoth are now considered death metal as opposed to their very early days when they were black metal?
I wish I could do this, but I'm afraid my knowledge won't allow me to.

It could be because now they play death metal and not black. wink I personally think their BM is infinitely better than their death metal, and I own all albums bar Pandemonic Incantations (even though I asked the guy at the underground joint to give it to me, and he gave me Chaotica without me realizing, the ********) and Evangelion ('cos I'm over them, their death metal won't improve). Basically, all albums up to Demigod are good. Sventevith being the best.

But I want someone to explain this difference between their early works and their current style. Their early work had the atmosphere and music composition that is found in Black Metal, but they slowly evolved into playing/writing Death Metal songs, they lost the BM atmosphere and wrote Death Metal style riffs and such. I don't know why the decided to change, but they did. I wouldn't know how to explain it any better, so if this isn't good enough then you may be out of luck.

I hope this band makes some new stuff soon love their album The Satanist, and Evangelion. I also can't believe they only have 3 members, and they are a great death metal band smile
