Three Kingdoms

Geography
The world is still young and war has prevented the progress of exploration and science. To the west lays a seemingly endless ocean that remains mostly unexplored. Islands lay along the farthest reaches of the explored waters but little is known of them. The known lands of the continent is large but blocked in the north, east, and south by a continuous, snowcapped mountain ridge. The ridge surrounds the known lands like a crescent moon. There is rumored to be a pass of some sort – each story tell of a different way – and a land beyond made entirely of sand with days as hot as a blacksmith's fire and nights as cold as winter in north Semane. Thick forests line the mountain ridge for miles inward and are the main terrain of the known lands. Rolling hills of wild grasses and wild flowers, and vast grassy flats divide the forests in the central lands. Lakes grow more abundant the further south you go. Shallow streams are plenty and easy to find. In the north, hot springs are found. In the south, where there are many humans, farmlands also dot the landscape. The borders of the three kingdoms move far to frequently for natural land markers to be made or remembered. The elven lands are the most diverse of any. One moment, you're walking through a forest, the next you may be setting foot on a beach surrounding a river or perhaps a small dead zone of volcanic activity or you might just step off a cliff. It is not wise to enter Setar without a native guide. It is this very reason that Setar is rarely attacked and has never been defeated despite the size of their forces.
Specific Locations of Interest Pershna - a massive forest running through both Netura and Setar and taking up a sizeble chuck of the south-eastern lands. Though their are breaks and thin patches of wood, most Setarans call all woods in Setar "Pershna". The Merry Company calls these woods home; so be wary.
Kingdoms
Netura ruled by the Humans
Netura (laying in the south) is currently at peace with Setar. Though the way humans divert stream and rivers for irrigation is a reoccurring strain between elves and humans. The Naturan people are desperately poor and facing a small drought. The Naturan army is vast but since the Illegitimate King Henry forced King William XVII from the throne, many warriors have rebelled and now roam the lands as defectors. King Henry is the b*****d son of King William XVI's second wife. Though his mother was banished for her infidelity, King Henry was kept at court. There he became bitter and learned in the ways of court; a frightful mix to be sure. Ten years after King William XVII inherited the throne, King Henry's plan fell into place. Gathering a small group of soldiers and mercenaries and disguising them as his own house staff, Henry road through the front gates of the castle to celebrate his brother's wedding. After the ceremony, the entire city was loud with merriment and there was much; especially among the guards. Not long after the king and his new queen had gone off to enjoy the rest of their wedding night, Henry attacked. The castle was quickly taken. However, though the king was declared dead, there are many rumors that William escaped that night with the aid of a loyal warrior and is with his queen in Setar. Humans cannot remember why or when the wars started but they have no intention of seeking peace either, especially with Henry as their king.
Setar ruled by the Elves
Setar is currently at peace with Netura and Semane, though relations with Netura have become... uneasy since King Henry took the throne. Setar is a prosperous and free land. It is ruled by the Council of Elders; composed of Lowland, Highland, Green, and Winged elves. Equality is one of the founding principles of Setar and is – quite literally – written in stone. However, in more recent years, there have been clashes between the races of elves. The Winged elves, especially, have developed an air of self-righteousness and the idea of higher and lower classes has begun to seep into their society. Another troubling factor is the disappearance of elves who travel into Netura. For many centuries Netura was a safe place for elves to travel and many healers made small quests to battlefields and cities that broke out with plague but just in the past two years traveling elves have gone missing, disappearing without a trace. The Setaran warriors are masters of their weapons but they are few in number. They make up for their numbers by knowing their homeland well and using the greatly contrasting landscapes of the elven territories to their advantage.
Semane ruled by the Demons
Semane and Setar used to be one kingdom but through a serious of events that neither is quite willing to talk about, they broke into two. The war of their separation was bloody and long but it has been put behind both parties (for the most part) and relations are rather stable. Unlike other creatures, Elves can walk the lands of Semane freely and without much fear of being eaten. Everyone else, on the other hand, fall under the general "eat first, ask questions later" policy. Since Semane's founding, the lands have been ruled by four cardinal demon lords, and 16 lesser lords. But in recent decades, demon lords have become restless. Many lords, cardinal and lesser, are moving stealthily to become supreme ruler of Semane. Being at war with Netura for so long has drained Semane of many resources but the steady flow of dead keeps the lower demons full so their is little to complain about. Semane has recently banned vampires, emphasizing this with the execution of a few hundred vampires.
The Story
Althenna, tired of this war with no memorable beginning and no end in site, has decided to end it. Though she would like to think she could end it on her own with a few well placed arrows to a few bloody minded royals, she knows better. Traveling stealthily through the land, she seeks out those who might aid her cause. And though she is not always gentle in her persuasion techniques, she is will not turn a blind eye to her group of rebels. While they move ever towards their goal of freedom and peace, they do manage to take more than a few detours into each others lives and individual quests.

Species Though their are only three dominant races, your character may be any race you choose. Humans Weak compared to demons and lacking the regenerative abilities of both demons and elves, are often looked down by other races. However, they have the ability to adapt faster than demons or elves. This means they are a "Jack-of-all-trades" race and can do just about anything they set their minds to. They are also favored by many gods, thus giving them a great deal of luck making them, sometimes, surprisingly hard to kill. Though most of the population is made up of your standard soldier/peasant, living in stationary villages on hillsides, and around castles; there are a few bands of nomadic tribes, amazon warrior tribes, and barbarian cities.Elves As a species, elves have several races; Lowland, Highland, Green, and Winged. Lowland elves are often confused with faeries. You can tell the difference by their wings. Lowland elves have wings similar to those of a butterfly or simply produce a glowing light while flying and appear to have no wings at all. Anything else is a fairy. Lowland elves specialize in magic (esp. elemental) and rarely need tools to wield it. Highland elves, though significantly shorter than a full blooded giant, are usually 9+ feet in height. Most highlanders prefer farming, weaving, and other artisan skills to warfare. They are a "Gentle Giant" race. Green elves are earth mages by birth. They tend the forests and desserts and make sure the boarder of Setar is ever guarded by trees both young and old. They are a shy race but they make the best healers in the know worlds and are even said to guard the fountain of youth. Winged elves are the strongest warriors of the elven species and make up the majority of the known population. Though they are renowned for their archery, they also train in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand. They also have the gift of flight. With their dove white wings, they are not the fastest or highest of fliers but for many centuries their grace and beauty had them mistaken for angels by humans and demons alike.Demons The strongest of the species. The term "strong as an ox, dumb as a toad", unfortunately, does not apply to demons. Even most lesser demons could snap a human neck like a twig and most high class demons have the intelligence to single-handedly destroy an army with a few well placed blows. Despite this, the humans have survived centuries of war with them (which, to be honest, irks them). Most lesser demons are ruled primarily by their Blood Demon; which is a more primal side of the demon mind. Many lesser demons cannot even take full or partial human form, appearing instead as much larger or smaller versions of normal animals or some semi-transformed version of their Blood Demon. However, middle and higher leveled demons can control and balance (and in the case of extremely high level demons, ignore completely) their Blood Demon. This side of a demon can be brought out by threatening its life, the life of a mate or child, or by engaging it in battle. Half-breeds (part demon, part anything else; though the term usually refers to demon-human mixes) are more susceptible to being completely overwhelmed by their Blood Demon (which results in a killing spree that 99% of the time can only end when the half-breed is dead). This is why most half-breeds are drowned at birth.

Classes Healer Healers are essential to any battle. Most healers are elves or gypsy women. Demons usually make terrible healers, mostly because their regenerative abilities make healing an automatic process. Healers are blessed with magical healing abilities. Magical healing abilities come in a wide range of types and levels. Two main types of mage healing are physical and psychic. Physical healing heals the body; anything from small scrapes to soon to be fatal wounds to internal bleeding. Psychic healing is a much broader spectrum of healing. They can heal anything from wounds caused by magic, fix damage done by curses, repair damage done by Dreamwalkers, heal psychics that have had their chi blocked, etc. Medic 84% of medics are Human (Setar Board of Statistics and Demography). Magicless green elves are also well known as medics. Though they do not possess the healing magic of their species, they are often much bolder and sometimes turn up on battlefields to aid both sides. Medics are just as important as healers to a battle. While demons usually make terrible healers, they can make good medics (though most never try). Unlike healers, medics have no healing magic and work solely with herbs and other medical instruments. Most medics work on the battlefield though some have village and city practices. While soldiers and warriors are either killed, sold into slavery, or imprisoned when captured, medics are taken into the enemy unit. So it is not uncommon to see a human traveling with demon warriors or vice versa. Soldier/Warrior Soldiers and Warriors are essentially the same class. They serve their king/council/demon lord. The make most of the armies of all three kingdoms. Most soldiers are taught the basics of handling a sword, shield, and spear before being put on the battlefield, any other skills they learn, they learn on their own. However, you should know that there are some differences between warriors and soldiers. Warriors tend to be from tribes or barbarian cities and are more likely to fallow a code of ethics or chivalry. They are also more likely have better training. (Warriors can also be male or female.) While soldiers, on the other hand, are more likely to be the sons of peasants, and poor lords. Defector Defectors were once soldiers but have abandoned their leader. As a defector, you must hide in guarded cities and avoid camps of soldiers (or sabotage/attack them). Many human defectors simply leave to lead normal lives (since King Henry has made nearly impossible for any of his soldiers to take leave to even simply get married, many who wish to do exactly that must leave). However, others defect to the Neturan, Setaran, or Semanese forces, or simply strike out on their own. Archer Archers are masters of the bow. Most archers are elves though there are two amazon tribes (Hannah and Ubani) that have most elves beat when it comes to archery on horseback and are an even match on land. Archers trained by the army are most useful in large groups positioned behind a large group of warriors/soldiers. However, other archers are usually creatures of stealth and precision. (The snipers of this world.) Lone archers and elven archers are always trained in some sort of close combat technique; whether it's hand-to-hand or the use of a blade. Rogue/Thief Rogues and thieves are, like the warrior and soldier, similar but they do differ. Both are thieves. However, actual thieves tend to stick to snatching purses and other things that require nimble fingers and light feet. While rogues stick to highways and brute force heists. Rogues are usually demons. Mercenary The majority of mercenaries are either demon or human. It is also a popular career choice for half-breeds. They are soldiers, cutthroats, and rouges that will fight on any side for a price. They rarely very proficient with their weapons. They are also called "soldiers of fortune", usually by the upper classes. Assassin Also a paid warrior, assassins are agile and are often mistaken for ninjas if ever caught. Assassins usually work alone. There are a few pairs and even fewer trios but they do exist. Most assassins were either born into the trade or were healers at some point in their lives. They work mostly with poisons though there is the occasional need for a garroter or dagger. Ninja Ninja are a secretive people. They often use chi blocking and other martial arts to defeat or maim an opponent. As well as throwing daggers and techniques unknown to the rest of the population. Many theories that the ninja, unlike the assassin, have a code of ethics or similar. Little more is known.

Magic Psychic Psychics consist of telekinesis (which includes levitation), time bending, teleportation, phasing, light bending, telepathy, empathy, dreamwalking, and shadow bending. These magics can be summoned with concentration alone. No spells need be said. However, these abilities cannot be learned. The can be trained, magnified, and honed but they are born gifts. Telekineses is the ability to move objects through thought. Most telekenetics can either move other objects with their mind or move themselves ( levitation). Time Bending is the ability to slow, speed, or look ahead in time. There is no record of any person holding more than one of these abilities. Those that can see ahead in time are most often called “seers”. Teleportation is the ability to transport something from one place to another. Many with this ability are only able to teleport themselves. However, with a black crystal or some other form of power booster, training, or a group gifted with this ability, many more can be moved. Phasing is the ability to pass through solid objects. WARNING: May cause dizziness.Light Bending is the ability to bend and shift light. Any light bender can bend the light to become invisible but those with better training can bend light around other objects to turn them invisible, and masters can even bend light to create illusions. Light benders must be careful though! Most human eyes are easy to fool and though elves have very sharp vision, they see on the same light spectrum as humans. However, demons come in many shapes, sizes, and animal types. While a bear demon might be easy to fool, a cuttlefish demon that sees on a much wider light spectrum, would be nearly impossible to fool. Also, most demon lords are not fooled by light bending. No light bender has lived long enough to ask why this is. Telepathy is the ability to communicate with your mind to another. Some can only communicate though pictures and emotions while others can communicate in words, even to those that do not speak the same language. Similarly, while some can only communicate with animals (usually those who can communicate in pictures and feelings), others can only communicate with humanoid creatures. A small percentage can communicate with both. Telepaths limited to one form of communication can go through training but be warned; popular teaching methods are dangerous and often result in death. Older methods are safer and more successful but finding teacher can be nearly impossible. Empathy is the ability to feel what others feel. There are two types of empaths: 1) those who feel the emotions of others (most common form) and 2) those who feel the physical sensations of others. Most empathy works through touch though there is the rare sensitive empath that can feel physical or emotional sensations without having to touch the subject. While dealing with empathy can be extremely difficult (especially in war zones) most simply wear extra layers and gloves to avoid contact with others. Most sensitive empaths become hermits and recluses. Dreamwalking is the ability to remain aware and in control of yourself even in a dream state and enter the dream world. From the dreamworld, most dreamwalkers can enter other dreams and some can even manipulate them. Dreamwalkers are rare but throughout history (most recently by King Henry) have been used to manipulate the dreams of seers and communicate to others. (Anastasia from “Ena and Lyre” – this world's “Romeo and Juliet” - is a good example of a dreamwalker; using her powers to bring Ena and Lyre together in the dreamworld.) Shadow Bender like the light bender, a shadow bender can manipulate shadows to him/herself. However, they cannot create illusions of physical objects like light benders. For example, a master light bender could bend the light to make it appear as though there were a real vase full of flowers on a table. A shadow bender cannot create such a physical thing but they can create shadows in the twilight and night hours. So they could make the figure of a woman dance across a wall or floor, or slide a shadow past the gap at the bottom of a door to make it appear as though something had passed by. Shadow benders do not have the same problem as light benders; a shadow is a shadow no matter what light spectrum you see in. Elemental Elemental magic can be learned by those without a gift for magic but it takes years of practice and will never produce the same results as a naturally gifted elemental mage. Elemental magic is tricky. There is a pretty even divide between those who must recite a spell to summon their powers and those that – like the psychic – need only concentrate on what they wish summon. Young elemental mages and mages left untrained are a danger to themselves and everyone around them. If you are an elemental mage, seek training immediately. Fire Mages can control fire to varying degrees. Power range from simply summoning fire to the fingertips (a low level power but very handy for starting campfires and useful in hand-to-hand combat), to directing fire with a blade or staff, all the way to controlling the shape, flow, and direction of fire both of your own summoning and of natural occurrence (mastery level). Earth Mages come in two main forms: those that can influence and manipulate the rate and direction of the growth of plants, and those that can move and manipulate stones, mud, dirt, etc. Green elves are famous for their mastery of green earth magic. Most earth mages, whether they are green or stone mages keep a garden. It can be anything from a herb garden, to a sand or rock garden, or even just a small collection of moss or rocks in a jar or box. Water Mages are more like fire mages than either group would care to admit. Their powers range from simply manipulating water from lakes and rivers (in Netura, they are usually hired to help build irrigation systems), to bringing water forth from alternate sources like plants, clouds, and moist ground, to changing the form of water at will (i.e., ice, mist, and the standard liquid water). Air and Wind Mages There are slight differences between air and wind mages in the lower levels but once a person reaches an intermediate stage of mastery, the difference is virtually impossible to tell. In the beginning levels, air mages cannot summon winds but they can manipulate the air giving them the ability to crush or suffocate a person as well as travel underwater for greater periods of time if they summon reserve bubbles with them. Wind mages, on the other hand, cannot crush anyone or travel underwater any longer than your average _insert appropriate species here_. They can, however, suffocate victims with a high enough velocity wind and they can “see” much farther than any other creature by using the winds like echolocation (though this ability is reliant on how fast, strong, and far a wind is traveling). Intermediate level powers include redirecting storms and conjuring winds. While higher level mages are limited only by their own minds. Mixed Magic Mixed magic (sometimes called “b*****d magic”) is a blend of two magics that create a new and separate magical type. A mixed mage will always have to speak his or her spells but spells can differ from one mage to another, making them especially difficult to teach. Metal Mages (earthXfire) have the ability to manipulate metal. They are often drawn to careers as blacksmiths. Many mages have gone unrecognized this way. Many master metal mages can even create a sort of living metal. It is not sure whether the metal is actually sentient but in many cases it behaves as such. Swords made of this metal have been known to abandon their blade form if their wielder's limb is taken and form a new, functioning limb. Other metal mages are drawn to the life of a warrior or soldier and become masters of weapon based combat. Their magic working to strength armor, become more in tune with their blade, and chain based weapons are especially deadly in a metal mage's hand. Lightning/Electric Mages (earthXfire) range from those that can summon lightning to those that use static electricity. Many mages of this magic are supper conductive resulting in frequent lightning strikes and lots of static shocks. You are not likely to see a lightning mage swimming or wearing wool. Guardian Mages (unknown) are, in some schools of thought, labeled as a sub-type of lightning mages, while others consider them a completely separate type. They are a rare type of mage. While they can wield lightning, they can only summon and direct their lightning with a sword or something they can wield like a sword. They must also have specially crafted swords as your average sword would melt under the super heat of their magic. They can also produce shields. While other elemental mages can produce types of shields and walls, guardian mages can produce shields of solid energy. While they can be penetrated, it is much more difficult to penetrate a guardian shield than it is any other (with the possible exception of an ice wall) Lava Mages (earthXfire) can summon and direct the blood of the earth: lava. Misconceptions: Can stop a volcano from erupting, if thrown into the mouth of a volcano the volcano will not erupt, can summon lava any time and any place they want. Lava mages can only summon lava from the veins of it that run through the earth. Healers The term “Healer” can refer to anything from a body healer, to a psychic healer, to a creature schooled in the use of herbs and is even councilors and confidants. Healing magic is rather self explanatory. It is magic that is used to heal. There are two main types of healing magic. Body Healers are abundant and in constant demand. When someone says “summon a healer” this is usually what they mean. Body healers as young as six have been taken from their families to serve in all kingdoms, marching with troupes to battle to aid the wounded. Body healers heal the physical body. If not trained properly, a healer's life is short. The abilities of a body healer can range from just being able to heal small to medium sized cuts and/or bruises to regenerating limbs. (Please Note: These are two extremes. Intermediate healers are much more common. Some have the ability to heal internal bleeding while most can heal wounds enough for a medic to take over and finish repairs. Also, while some very powerful and very old healers have the ability to regenerate limbs, it takes many years of regular tending to to completely regenerate a limb.) Psychic Healers heal damage done by psychic mages, reverse chi blockage, and heal damage done by other mages that cannot be healed by a body healer. Most psychic healers learn the methods of medics. Psychic healers are more commonly found in courts as they can usually manipulate poison in the body (slowing or preventing the effects of an assassin's dagger or poisoned food), reverse the damage done by ninjas, and mend or prevent damage done by dreamwalkers.

Lesser Species Species name: Vampire (Vampires) Allied kingdom: Setar & SemanePolitical standing: Currently refugees from Semane. Appearance: Most are stunningly beautiful though there are many who are repulsive and terrifying. All have fangs and claws. Many have oddly bright eyes, usually their pupils and irises are particularly round though some have more cat-like pupils. Strengths: Extremely physically strong. Generally as strong as most mid-level demons, many can over power a demon in claw-to-claw combat. Weaknesses: Sunlight. Though some younger vampires are also allergic to things like garlic and certain types of metals and alloys. Preferred Climate: Cool-cold dark places Diet: Mostly blood (preferably human). Though they can eat other things (like demon meat and peanut better sandwiches), they get the most out of human blood. Magical inclinations and/or abilities: All are gifted with some sort of psychic magic to some degree. The ability to put creatures in trances is the most common (and useful). General: Vampires in Setar are banned from drinking blood. Since the killings in Semane, many vampires that refuse to endure malnourishment have snuck into Netura, causing public panic, leeriness, and outcry. Species name: Balor or Balor’s(Plural) A form of Tan'narri. Allied kingdom: Semane Political standing: Balor's are very powerful. They tend to be only a couple step's below the lesser lords. Most balor's are troop leaders or even generals for their masters. Appearance: Most Balor's stand at about 10 to 12 feet but in cases of very strong Balor’s they can top 16.Most have ape-like faces with various mouths tending from canine muzzle to bird beaked. They tend to have bat like wings and furred. Some are scaled, and have tails as well. Strengths: Balor's are physically and mentally powerful. They are good with magic and know how to fight. Weaknesses: They tend to be evil, corrupted, and vain. Most of the time they are predictable in their thought patterns but the stronger the balor is the more different it is in appearance and thought pattern. The weaker Balor's seem to come from a cast and are made in nearly identical appearances. Preferred Climate: The general populace of Balor’s like a Hellish climate. The general populace not being large as they are strong. Diet: Anything, but will only eat plants if required. They rather like human and goat flesh. It is considered a delicacy for either. Magical inclinations and/or abilities: They can teleport at an early age. Most tend to develop at least one strong connection with an element. General: Some Balor's have been found to help anyone they consider 'good' for nothing more than creating chaos. It is the balor's way. Lesser species form:

Because of her race, she is biased against just about any other race as was taught by her master who trained her as an apprentice to become a skilled fighter. At first she fought faithfully for Semane, until plots and conflicts broke out amongst the demon lords to become the supreme ruler. Kayn then ran away from the army and is now wanders the streets as just another civilian. Appearance:  This is more of her partial Blood Demon form, although Kayn doesn’t attempt to go fully human because she hasn't found a need to yet. True Name: Unknown... Race: Has about 1/7 blood of the Winged Elven blood. Class: Is a Archer primarily, but is skilled with long and short swords. Age: Appearances would set him at his mid 20s to even mid 30s, but none of his Merry Men have DARED asked...he'd just laugh it off anyway. His sagacity and clear experience (as well as clearly LONG standing and multiple love affairs with Seraphim and elves would demand an age of no less than 400 years, both of these species living easily for twice that length). Sex: Male Weapon/tool of choice: Avalonii Longbow, Protector of the Seraphim was used by a long dead hero as a gift from the Seraphim to protect their forests from an invading Demon Horde. After 10 days, the Demons fled with only a quarter of their forces left. (English Longbow in our world.) After this event, the hero in question gained the eternal gratitude of the Seraphim. Apparently, he even took one of their Princesses, the fairest they possessed, as a wife. When the hero died, the weapon passed on from history. How precisely Robin Hood gained this amazing weapon is unknown; perhaps he got it from one of his supposedly many Seraphim lovers. At any rate, the weapon has unbelievable accuracy (he supposedly has never missed under 200 yards) and is untouched by weather. If it has a weakness, it is that it is not a close-combat weapon, and clearly has no use against a sword swinging enemy at toe-to-toe. Next, he uses the strange sword known as The Longsword of Hope. A sharp grey sword, it appears to also be of Avalonii origin. It is capable of cutting through the mightest of protections, be they of Magical or Physical nature. It gives the user focus, clarity, and strength of Hope, as well as immunity to any psychic and a powerful enchantment from the famous warrior-mages of long-fallen Avalona. It's major weakness is its slow swinging speed, though it is quite good at defending Robin Hood, still, a faster weapon like a short sword or other such weapon can out-fight the sword with sheer speed. Wears and enchanted Leather Jerkin known as the Shadow Armor, a powerfully blessed/enchanted armor that lets him sneak with ease through even broad daylight. But it is weak to pikes, spears, and other piercing weapons of that sort. These weapons can pierce his Studded Leather armor with ease. He is naturally skilled with jumping, tree-climbing, and any form of survival and wood-craft. Magical Talent (if any): No personal abilities apart from those conferred upon him by his equipment. He, being a man of the wood, does not like Lightning Mages. Metal Mages are common in his Merry Company, so he has some knowledge of this mage-craft. Brief personal history: Robbin "Merry Man" Hood, is very dedicated to the retaking of the Throne for Good King William. He is a much wanted man and has earned himself quite the list of bounties. Two demon lords have put out death warrants on him. King Henry has also declared a 50,000 gold piece bounty for his head. He laughs at everything. EVERYTHING. Even his own failures and defeats. He is determined to protect the weak, aid the just, safeguard the neutral, turn the lost to good, and punish the wickedly evil and rich. A tyrannical, greedy land-lord will find himself the unwilling host of a Troupe (as small groups of Merry Men are called) of laughing rangers, rogues, and hunters. The good rich and nobles send money to his cause, and he receives the aid of a strange man known only as the Silver Pimpernel. He is an open minded man, accepting even Demons of great numbers. Though he has the numbers, he lacks the heavily armored knights and siege equipment necessary to taking back the heavily fortified palaces and castles of Henry's primary holding, but the people of Netura have found, in him, a heroic figure to lead them. Appearance:  Zeromercyx Name: Aisha Race: Balor Class: Warrior Age: 26 Sex: Female Weapon/tool of choice: A huge flamberge. From hilt to tip it is nearly 11 feet. (It is made for the balor’s huge size and strength) The hilt is about 50 cm so Aisha can set one or two hand’s to it. It features a ricasso and a large set of flukes from the sides before it. The flame like wavey blade is accentuated by it’s dark red color. The sharpened part of the blade however is black. Magical Talent (if any): Aisha is quite good with Teleportation. She can also use the element of fire quite well. Brief personal history: Aisha was born in a group of 20. When she was born she was charged to slay her brother's and sisters until she was the last one standing. She did this and for a long while after was the epitome of evil. Cunning, ruthless, deadly. But she soon listened to a voice inside her head. She had gained some of a conscience. She had rose through the ranks of power until she was strong, but her conscience caused her to look at her actions. She is now determined to try to redeem herself, but believes it impossible for a demon like her. Yet she has created a set of ethics that she will not break. Appearance: Aisha (But think female scales and armor)But female and with red scales. She also has dark red fur that is nearly black. Name: Selce Wardragon Race: Lowland Elf Class: Swordmage (Guardian and Metal mage) Age: Selce remembers being born 19 winters ago. Sex: Female Weapon/tool of choice: A serrated scimitar called Lunar Claw. Made from a fallen star, and smelted into shape by Selce’s own hands. The hilt is a simple circular style with sigil scrollwork upon it. The sword itself is nearly 4 feet long. The hilt being about 22 inches for the proper placement of her hands. The blade itself has brilliant etching and scroll work upon it. The etching with her family crest, that of a dragon circling a blade, the scrollwork naming her. Magical Talent(If any): Selce is proficient in both Metal and Guardian magic. Able to feel the metal and bend it to her will. With her guardian magic she is able to create powerful shields and even minor elemental attacks with her blade. Brief Personal History: Selce grew up under her maid’s tutelage. Being born in a minor noble house ,her father the patriarch, she was a bit spoiled until she realized her dreams. That of her want to do what came natural to her. She learned with a master black smith, until she realized she could not only shape the metal with a hammer but with her mind. When a star fell from the sky into the forest she tracked it. Unlike any other metal Selce took the metal and made her sword. She treated the blade for strength, flexibility, and able to hold shape. Before long she followed other metal mages into learning her sword. Later at the age of 15, another elf visited her house. Her father did not like what his heir daughter was doing. The elf taught her much to shield herself which her father not a bad idea. But he taught her more ,proper manners, responsibility, and other such important things. He taught her the way guardian mages use their very sword and technique to utilize their magic. The tip of the arrow is made of bone and often dipped in poison. Small lightweight bronze iron dagger Magical Talent (if any): Shadow Bender Brief personal history: Unknown to most. Almost no one lives to talk about him. Appearance:  Ziae Name: Keiza Race:Half Greenland Elven, Half Human Class:Healer/Asssasin Age: 23 Sex:Female Weapon/tool of choice: A sword has a blade with a copper hue to it. The guard is a pair of angel wings, inlaid with gold. Its pommel is shaped like a pyramid and a pair of katar like weapons hidden under her layered clothing. Magical Talent: Mild Telekinesis. Prolong use makes blood stream from her eyes or ears. Brief personal history: Keiza is the result of a rather unusual union between a Greenland Elf female and a human male. Strange as it sounds, they managed to work it out and even have a nice cottage on the outskirts of Setar. There they raised their daughter to be a healer after her she started to show an interest in plants of all types. Her mother knew a few healers so it all worked out so by the time she was a woman grown, she was a professional. Keiza eventually got bored with healing and started to show interest in being an assassin. She was vast knowledge of venom and poisonous plants so it was just matter of time. You would think someone as tall as she(6'0) that it would be hard to be an assassin but whenever she goes on a mission, she dresses in male clothing to throw them off her trail. Appearance:  DemonDays2 Name: Bjorn Volundr Race: Human Class: Barbarian (Aka: Warrior) Age: 22 Sex: Male Weapon/tool of choice: War Axe "Egir", Viking Spear "Einarr", Seax dagger. Magical Talent (if any): Like many of his tribe, Bjorn has the ability to fly into a berserker rage, becoming much stronger than before, able to rip apart even doors with his bare hands. He also is seemingly invincible: it takes much to take him down, and he feels no pain (Although the damage is still there). It comes at a cost, however: even after one bout of rage, Bjorn becomes tired. Two, and he has no choice but to sleep. Three, and he's knocked unconscious. Also, he has a tendency to create a tunnel-vision like effect in combat: he's focused on one thing at a time, and has trouble telling the difference between friend and foe. Brief personal history: Bjorn was born in the mountains, a small place named Surnadal Dale. He was born into a tribe of barbarians that could best be described as Vikings, though they didn't ransack the nearby village on a lake. They kept to themselves, living off the land. Bored of life in the Dale, Bjorn left at 17 years old and never looked back. He swiftly learned that the reputation of his people earned him little respect, being warily watched in towns and even flatly rejected by some. He travels alone, trying to find at least a place to stop for a while. His deep set hatred of the demons (something ingrained into him by his tribe) causes him to seek them out, and to join with the other kingdoms in battle against them. Appearance: Bjorn VolundrTheAnomalousParadoxOfLife Name: Kiri Race: Vampire Class: Defector Age: Let's just say that she was already old when Semane and Setar seperated. Sex: Female Weapon/tool of choice: Katana, she doesn't like to get her hands dirty. Magical Talent (if any): Kiri was born with the ability to bend time (slow it down) and during her long life she has mastered Air and Wind. Brief personal history: With age vampires grow stronger. Kiri is very old and as a result doesn't need to feed very often. She can also survive in sunlight for a while, but if she is exposed for to long her energy will begin to decrease and she will have to rest for a while. Not much is actually known about Kiri. She was a major figure in the Kingdom that existed before Semane and Setar broke apart. She defected even before the civil war. Her name has been lost to all but the most devout scholars of history. Appearance: [x]yutsune Name: Kita Mitsuto Race: Demon Class: Warrior Age: 8 [58] Sex: Female Weapon/tool of choice: Halberd Magical Talent: Shadow magic: Kita's shadow magic isnt the same as normal shadow bending. She can bend shadows to look like the shadow of something, but she cannot create shadows. Also, some of her magic doesnt work at night due to the principle of light.
Shadow Travel: enables kita to sink into the shadows almost like another dimension and arise from another shadow, only can be used with a shadow including her own. Can be used at night.
Shadow Conjure: She wills shadows to become more than just where the light dont shine, It begins to rise and she can mold it into things such as hands and weapons. Cant be used at night.
Shadow Armor: Kita molds with shadows and causes all physical attacks to go through her. However most magic attacks disrupt the armor, causing it to show her body. Cant be used at night.
Shadow Ball: One of her more recent techniques not entirely master, she can shoot shadows from her hands at her enemeny. The ball of shadow explodes on contact releasing negative energy. Can be used at night
Shadow Slash: A blade of shadows created with the combination of Kita's halberd and shadow abilities. Brief personal history: One day a strong wizard came to preform magical experiments in Kita's town. The wizard struck the town with a mutatuion spell. Her father and mother were sadly killed in the blast. She suspects her brother of the same, but isnt entirely sure. Instead of seeing him dead, he was gone when she awoke. She also noticed she felt more keen in ability and sense. She reached up to feel her head which felt different, and noticed her hand was different. It was a claw/paw. She shrieked. Her feet were the same and she found fox ears atop her head. She cried and didnt know what to do. She wanted to be strong though. She couldnt just kill herself. she didnt even completely understand the situation and that hit her soon after. She began to cry once more. She needed to cover herself and she needed supplies. She wasnt going to let her training and her parents love go to waste. She would find her brother and they would live together happily.
About a day after the incident, Kita learned more of herself. She had some other ability. It happened by accident. She had walked into her, what used to be kitchen, and opened the cupboard. She went to reach for a box of noodles, when she began to sink. it was slow at first and she didnt notice the feeling until her ankles were beginning to submerge. She screamed and jumped pulling herself out. She didnt know what had just happened, but she had the sneeking sensation it was her that was doing it. She focused on her feet and slowly began sinking. She was confused, but her confusion was interrupted when she shot through her portal and fell into the blackness that mirrored her world. She gasped, then gasped again at the surprising fact that she could breath. She saw where she just entered. It was white, as was every other shadow. she walked up to a white spot on the side of the wall. she touched it and it was solid. She focused on it and her hand went through it. She was surprised and made her escape from the place. She then dedicated her time to more training. She would soon master her powers to a degree. she was still plagued with the unanswered question of her brother. She then set out to find him sure she was ready to do so. After a time, however, she discovered she no longer aged. She wouldnt let this stop her though, and continued in her quest.
During her quest, Kita stumbled onto a lost library of the demons. It was a library said to hold the names of all the demons. In the library, she found a book with her and her brother's names and bloodline in it. She smiled and frowned. She was happy to know her brother was alive, but sad to find out their parents werent theirs and that they were demons. She cried some more. A librarian demon had heard her crying and swiftly attacked in protection of the library. Kita had no choice and slaughtered the demon. She quickly left the library, leaving the book behind and setting out to find her brother once again. Appearance: the4tharrancar Name:sin Race: green elf Class: assasin/mercenary Age: 22 (182) Sex: male Weapon/tool of choice: 2 swords a scimitar by the name of nirvana and a defending scimitar by the name of pirgatory nirvana is a long scimitar with a black and white hilt and guard its blade is almost 4 feet long and has runes inscribed on it. pirgatory has a grey hilt and guard with 3 and a half foot blade blade that is substancially wider then nirvana's. along with his 2 scimitars sin has a dagger called errtu it has a black grip and hilt along with a black blade it can be called back to sins possesion if he ever loses it. his last weapon is a long bow called hades gate it is made of enchanted dead ash wood its string is made from a balors tendon and it magiclly creates arrows that are also dead ash wood there arrow heads are balor bone. Magical Talent (if any): sin has slight shadow bending he can create only globes of darkness to blind his enemies they are only 10 feet in circumfrence and can only be held for roughly 45 seconds. bio: sin was born a green elf but he was also born with black skin and silver hair with purple eyes( kind of a reverse albino thing) his mother died giving birth and his father thinking him bad luck raised him till he was old enough to take care of himself and gave him the name sin to brand him he then disowned him and sent him into semane by himself at the age of 10. growing up by himself sin soon learned that to survive he must be practiced with a weapon so he trained non stop until people heard of his talent with weapons and started paying him to assasinate people now 172 years later as he watched the rise and fall of kings he has honed his skills and become one of the best with almost any weapon Appearence:

Secondary Characters & NPCs The Merry Company of Peshna - Approx. 50,000 strong. The massive size of the Merry Company is thanks to the vast numbers of restless and refugee populations in Netura; as well as the Elves who have fled into the forests for a romantic wood-life and a dedication to the trees and wildlife. Demon Lord, Council Elder, and King/Queen/etc. positions can be played but their profiles will require much more scrutiny from me. If you are ready for the challenge, PM me a character profile. In depth History and Cultural Notes User Impute Always Welcome The Avalonii were an ancient race. After a great catastrophe (little is known of what exactly this "catastrophe" was for most documents pertaining to it were burned several decades ago), the surviving members of the Avalonii set sail from the islands in the far south-west of the known waters and landed Netura. Many scholars (those that have lived long enough to flee to Setar) have tied the first mages with the arrival and absorption of the Avalonii (approx. 700-800 years ago). Their language, known as Aval-lin, was the common tongue in Netura until King Henry took to the throne. Spells can be cast with words, but only Aval-lin words. Thus, King Henry resurrected the ancient language of Kinar, the tongue spoken before the Avalonii came. The language is blocky and so different from the smooth, flowing Aval-lin that it would never take among the people if not for the penalty of death for speaking the preferred tongue without King Henry's permission. While Kinar is a common language among all three kingdoms, it is difficult for commoners to learn (many words for farming and other crafts that have only recently been truly learned by humans do not exist in Kinar) and having it imposed above all other languages in Netura has lead to some upheaval. For though Aval-lin was the common tongue of Netura, there were many other languages spoken among different groups and classes of people; from the Trader Tongue to the many different languages among the amazon tribes. To separate his nobles from commoners, King Henry has mandated "High" Kinar as the language for educators to teach in; burning books and writings in other tongues. High Kinar is a very different language from Low Kinar. It has a tendency to serve politicians and diplomats well -- if they can master it -- because it is a HIGHLY ambiguous language to those who use it right. "Ena and Lyre" is a tragic story that parallels "Romeo and Juliet" in many ways. It is a classic love story that was written sometime ago. Many versions of this book have been adapted into plays that are preformed in all three kingdoms. The writer of this work is not known for the only copy to survive the first book burning of Netura sustained heavy damage; erasing the name of the creator.

Althenna watched from her post on the edge of camp. This sight -- the sight of crows (of which she had been named) picking at the dead -- was a sight she had grown accustomed to. Somewhere in herself, this fact disgusted her. All she had ever known was war. Just like her mother before her and her mother before her and so on and so forth. With the death of King William, the first human king who had made any attempt at peace, had come the disappearance of her mother. Helena had been head of their tribe but now it was Illia, Althenna's eldest sister that guided and ruled. Illia was a good leader, like their mother, but Althenna still missed her mother's terrifying ululations and battle cries. Helena had been a loyal warrior and friend of King William. Althenna was not sure if her great mother had somehow escaped King Henry's take over or if she lay in the mass grave outside the castle walls. Not knowing was driving her a little insane. But it had been something to open her eyes. Serving under King Henry was not something she enjoyed and even though King William had been taking steps towards peace, he had still been waging a war against Semane. This was not the way she wanted her life to end. This was not the way she wanted to live her life! Her face calm and cold as she watched the world. How many had to die? What crime was so great that entire families had to be wiped out by both sides? What was worth more than the life of not just one child, but hundreds of thousands over the endless years. How could the world just stand by and let all this happen. Where were the gods, those monks and priests and their female counterparts were always praying to? They had told her stories of little miracles but it was like a drop in the ocean. As another came to relieve her of her post, she couldn't help but linger a bit, eyes sweeping slowly over the battlefield again. And then, it hit her. It was the ravens that did it. She had been named after the ravens and wore their feathers and the feathers of their friends in her hair. They littered the field of dead, devouring what lay there. 'It is time,' she thought, 'to clean up the carrion in these lands.' giving her post over to the young soldier who had come to relieve her, she went back into camp, gathered what little possessions she did not carry on her person and left. The unit was large enough that it would be some days before they realized she was gone. And by then, she would be long gone.
