After what had happened with Dustin and the crazed metal bull, Mikhail didn't really feel like going back to the HQ so soon. It would be just his luck that something else would happen, in which case he'd be screwed. While he wasn't exactly useless, his broken ribs did make doing a lot of things painful. Even breathing was uncomfortable. It was ridiculous!

And yet, after just a few days of resting, Stefan had started prodding him a little about being social. No outright demands about getting out of the house, but hints, and they were getting annoying. So he compromised. Instead of going to HQ, he decided to go and visit Seung; he'd made sure to ask where she lived after they'd escaped from Heaven. Well, her version of it. Whatever. It was still confusing.

The walk seemed as though it took a long time, but that was probably because he was actually walking; he was so used to flying to get at least some of the way to most places by now that just walking somewhere was a little frustrating. But flying wasn't exactly pleasant at the moment, so he didn't have much of a choice.

Once he'd finally arrived at his friend's house, he rang the doorbell.

Mehiyal had store-duty that day; a singularly boring one in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. At least Nimaina let her children and fosterlings read or play video games when no one was in the store. Only people with way to much time on their hands came to to Seronil in the afternoon.

The doorbell chimed and Mehiyal leveled a glare at it over his book before getting up. People with way too much time or people that didn't have a clue where they were. Well, a couple of the other kids had people show up looking for Nimaina's other services, but they were few. Probably someone with the wrong address then. Guests knew to come at the side door of the house.

The lanky teen sighed and opened the door. He wasn't surpised to see a young man slightly taller than him with fiery colored wings there. He'd seen odder people shopping here after all. "Welcome to Seronil Designs, purveyors of fine jewelry, technomancy, and weaponry if you have the proper liscense. How can I assist you today?" he recited, with the air of someone not exactly willing to assist anyone for any reason.

Welcome to...what? Mikhail wondered if he did have the right address. If he did, he was going to be horribly embarrassed, and the teen at the door probably wouldn't be terribly happy with him either. But there was only one way to find out, so he asked hesitantly, "Is, uh....is Seung here?"

So this person wasn't lost. Just clueless. Mehiyal glanced over the man head to toe. After Seung's kidnapping, Nima had warned everyone to be cautious of unknown persons asking for someone in the household specifically. This person didn't look anything like the ones that kidnapped Seung, or the group that tried (and failed) to take her back afterward. In any case, the new wards wouldn't let him through the door if he was planning anything of the sort.

"She's home." Mehiyal stepped back and pointed to a door across the room past multiple display cases. "Through there is the main house. She's either in the living room, the backyard, or upstairs in her room. Living room's on your left, backyard's through the back door of the living room, and Seung's room is the second door on your right upstairs." Without waiting for a response, the teen went back to his chair and book, leaving the winged man to his own devices.

Ordinarily, Mik might have crossed his arms and looked impatient while under scrutiny, but it wasn't particularly comfortable to do the former just now. He still looked impatient, but not as much as he would have with the change in his posture. At least he had the right house, though...er, the right building. Apparently Nimaina ran a shop out of part of her house.

While the teen wasn't the friendliest person he'd ever met, at least he was helpful. The angel went as he'd been directed, through the door, and peeked tentatively into the living room. There was something weird about wandering around someone else's house.

Serin could faintly hear Mehi from the kitchen. She couldn't make out the words, but the tone was unmistakable. She rolled her eyes and shook water off her hands before peeking out the door. The little angel could understand why Mehi was watching the shop, with all the kids who could fly doing courier-duty. It didn't mean it was a good idea.

She poked her head out the door in time to see a very tall man looking in the living room. He could enter the house, so Serin wasn't concerned to see a stranger there. "Hello," she called cheerfully. "You look lost. If you want Miss Nima she's in her workroom at the end of the hall."

...that was not a mothfish. His face fell a little, but he smiled when this newest stranger turned out to be nice, edging his way into the living room. That left two more places to look, unless she knew where Seung was for sure. Mik sort of hoped she wasn't in her room. Being in other people's personal space was awkward. "Actually, I'm looking for Seung?"

"Ah," Serin pointed to a set of stairs. "Upstairs, second door on the-" a loud crackle and boom from upstairs interrupted the girl. Serin winced. "-right. And if you see a kid with a wizard hat could you tell him to quit it on behalf of the rest of house? Thanks!" She headed back to the kitchen as another crash shook the building. Someone else yelled "Shut UP Sanalus!" followed by a slightly quieter boom.

What the hell was THAT? Mik was visibly startled, and didn't respond to the small angel right away. Apparently, however, it wasn't anything to be alarmed by, and he was left wondering just how many people Seung and Nima lived with! There was this one, the guy at the door, the kid responsible for the booms (Sanalus, he guessed), and whoever was yelling at him.

As he'd never lived with anyone but his guardian, the idea of living with five other people was kind of unpleasant, big house or no. "Thanks," he said, and headed up the stairs.

More booms and crashes puncuated Mik's trip up the stairwell. As he got to the top, a blue-skinned woman with wings and a halo floating over her head emerged from one of the rooms. A small lavender-skinned girl in an outfit that looked like it belonged in Aladdin followed close behind.

"I swear, I am going to take that thing away from him and keep it this time," the blue-skinned woman was muttering, while the girl looked distressed.

T-two more? How many people lived in this house?! And did that woman seriously have a halo? That was a little weird. He was a real angel, and he didn't have a halo. Didn't particularly want one, either. He waved politely to the pair, hoping to bypass having to talk to them, and headed for Seung's door to knock on it.

To be honest, he really kind of wanted to sit down.

With all the bangs and crashes (it seemed like Sanalus was being extra enthusiastic just for annoyance's sake today) Seung almost missed the knock at her door. It took her a second to realize the noise wasn't from above her and she wasn't entirely sure of that. Oh well, it didn't hurt to check.

She opened the door and saw Mik standing there. She did a double take to make sure, her wings buzzing in surprise. "Mik! I didn't know you were here." Then she noticed the look on his face. "Are you okay? Do you need some air? Or a place to sit?" She held the door open for him. Her room was fairly large and filled with a mix of adolescent clutter and the leftovers of childhood. A pair of glass double doors lead to a balcony running along the back of the house.

Finally! Okay, so it hadn't been that long, but still. If she hadn't answered, he'd've had to look more, and who knew how many more people he'd stumble over? He wouldn't be terribly surprised at this point to learn that there were even more. How could anyone stand it?

"Hi. I hope you don't mind?" Mik smiled, too busy being relieved to go back to feeling awkward yet. "I'm okay," he assured her, though his breathing sounded a little off. "A place to sit would be good, though."

"Hi! I don't mind, I just didn't expect you." She looked around for a place to put him; her desk chair was covered in clutter and she didn't think he'd like the floor. She started to move stuff off the bed when she realized that would mean him sitting on her bed. She blushed pink and purple at the thought.

"Let's sit on the balcony," she suggested, leading the way out the double doors. That was perfectly neutral. She sat on one of the wicker benches. "So what happened? Did Sanalus or Anamarie get ahold of you?"

Ordinarily, he would have been equally dismayed by the awkwardness of sitting on Seung's bed (or anyone else's, for that matter), but he wasn't feeling picky. Still, she saved them both by suggesting the balcony. He followed and chose a seat - not the same bench, his wings took up too much room anyway, especially now that he had four - which he settled himself on carefully.

"No," he answered, shaking his head. "I got stepped on by something big and angry."
