I can play at the speed i need to

but how do you make solos out of scales

do you mix up the scale notes

or just move the scale up to another postion?

No one will ever just sit there and play a scale up and down (except Rusty Cooley... which is why he sucks). The best things to know when writing solo's is music theory, what sounds good to you, and what fits the song. Playing scales up and down is anything but musically invigorating. Try different things. Figure out what you like, and learn some theory.

kk, try playing scales, but dont play in the same box over and over again. the major scale is t-t-s-t-t-t-s, and its a good starting scale (that and pentonic)

******** around till you find something you like. I will say though, that it is easier to solo if you actually solo over a chord progression. Get a backing track, or make a recording of you doing a I-V progression. Hell, do a blues and rip a pentatonic on it. you just got to mess around.
