Alright, so I was cruising the topics here and a certain aspect came up that I didn't see so I decided to ask it here.
How many years have you marched? And any other bits of info from that would be highly interesting. Like your favorite charts, least favorite, commands you love and hate from your experience and so on.
I can say that I am a junior and I joined my marching band in sixth grade. That was the first year it was restarted and I had made the age cut. Our school goes from Pre-K to twelfth grade. Now The age cut is at seventh grade but it still spans as one whole band.
By the time I graduate I will have seven years of marching band, almost as much as one high-school and college term together. Since I'll be doing marching band in college I'm going to have eleven years of marching, and I plan on doing DCI.
So with that, I'd like to hear some of your experiences. :3

I have been a marcher since my 7th grade year and I'm a junior =]
We have an insanely small band though XP Which really sucks, because that makes me the oldest musician....
Hahaha I love scatter drills =] We've never had one in our show, but I'd really like to do one some day!
I would like to try out for DCI, but I'd only be allegible for color guard... (I'm a woodwind and the only brass instrument I play isn't used in DC)
Although, I'm most certainly going to be a music ed. major =] (Hahaha obviously)

No marching at our middle schools. sad Technically, I've only marched for two years, but I'm the best marcher in my college band. I was only in high school for three years (graduated early) and of those three, I was a marcher for one and a drum major for two. I spent a semester at a big university with an awesome marching band and am now at a small school with a brand new marching band. I think I'll march for four years in college, but it depends on how my degree's going. Particularly my senior recital...

I'm a sophomore, so this is my second year. I like to think I've got most of everything down drill-wise, but basics...yeah, slides don't seem to like me. I'm Drifty McDriftpants, and it's hooorrible. D= I think I'm subconsciously trying to kill someone with drifting...that, and tight muscles make doing slides correctly practically impossible for me.

I'm a sophomore and I've been marching for two years.
I'm playing the Mellophone, even though I have braces. Braces are impairing my high notes, but my SL allows me to skip it. But braces won't stop me from supporting my fellow sophomore Mellophone players!
We're going to get our drills this friday, and I'm pretty excited about it.
I hope this year will be better than last year!
