Been going pretty good so far. This week was amazing, hanging out with a bunch of my friends before school starts and they're all off to college. Then went to Gamestop and traded in a bunch of games, got 2 more, and a subscription to Game Informer. The best part was that the cashier still owed me 4 dollars afterward.

...wow it is amazing how quickly my words dry up when people mention video games. All I can ever think to say is 'I haven't played them since I was, like, 10,' which is probably kind of rude, but explains my complete lack of knowledge/ability to talk about stuff.
Are you not at college too? I'm starting uni in September. Sort of scary. But a year at home with no school has absolutely bored the s**t out of me and I can't wait to do something new. Also looking forward to being surrounded with musicians of a decent calibre. My A-level music class had three people in it. And nobody I talk to regularly seems to have both the same amount of interest and (not to sound arrogant) knowledge/skill at making music as I do, which means collaborations are few, which means I am sad at having to create music primarily on my own.
I'm also taking French.
I've forgotten all my French.
Whoops. (Or, merde alors.)

Whoops. (Or, merde alors.)lol I'm still far from college. I'm entering sophomore year in high school. And you don't sound arrogant to me considering I can believe that being true. Because remember, I'm in high school, so there's an influx of so-called musician's that don't know s**t about anything. I hate it. And good luck with French, hope you at least remember some of it.

I like this conversation, and I understand it. w00t. Anyway I have the same bullshit. There's one really cool guy who plays metal, and he's really good at composing like, full orchestral/band pieces. He's cool. But other than that I haven't met a musician here who knows anything more than how to play a 5th. ("Can you play the harmonic minor scale?" "I just know Power Chords!" "Wtf.")
But anyway, life is damningly good. Murphy is gonna phuck up my good time, though. Just because he has a law. neutral
I'm having a really good time in Trojanaires, my classes are fun, I'm getting recording gear in (tops)20 days. biggrin

Don't be intimidated by college. It's really not any more difficult than lower levels of schooling if you're slightly intelligent.
I made a pretty decent base for a noise song earlier today. It's really bassy and intense. It still needs more layers though. I'll post it eventually.
Life is in neutral right now, Sara. I'm waiting for it to get better.

Still hectic, working more hours now that the wedding is done with, and making sure wifey stays off her feet as much as possible...rolled her ankle and tore muscles on the wedding day, crazy woman popped a bunch of painkillers and walked down the aisle and danced that night too. O.o Musical things are going so slow with me right now that it's at a near standstill...so much for learning Max/Msp and Pure Data after the wedding. Maybe once wintertime rolls around.

Haha, Hect, I'm not worried about the classes and stuff, more the moving somewhere I've never been to more than a couple of times, on my own. That bit's the daunting part.
Lol at the power chords. Some guitarists can be a touch frustrating to work with. And you always expect the ones who are used to playing mainly chords to have a good idea of what they're doing with them... they rarely do. :s
If life is neutral, don't wait for something to happen - heaven only knows, it doesn't, unless you start getting involved in stuff.
My mind is thinking better in French now, due to being in touristy parts of London yesterday and eavesdropping on conversations. Amazing how quickly you can open up the section in your brain that contains a certain language. Saw Wicked, and discovered, obscurely, that if the music is not close enough, loud enough - if I can't feel the bass - it has a significant effect on my enjoyment of live performance. Girl playing the lead had a right sexy voice, and an amazing range. Everyone else seemed to find her annoying. Each to their own, I suppose.
I like talking crap, so I'm probably going to post a lot of uninteresting stuff in this topic. Feel free to ignore me.

Being uninteresting isn't really an option, unless you're a totally douche.
What I meant is that in two or so weeks it'll be time to seek ******** YEAH.
I'm probably going to get it too, because I made it all up in my head.
I am weird. Sorry if any of you feel uncomfortable at this semi-suggestive block of text.
I go to school relatively close to my house, so I just live at home and commute (why pay to dorm?). Needless to say, I really only slept there, and sometimes I just ended up crashing in a friend's dorm room or something. Seriously, you'll make tons of friends quickly if you're not a super introverted person. It'll be fun, and you'll be counting the days until you get to go back when the year ends.

My life has been pretty non-stop stressful since school started this week. Band/choir/madrigal singers/marching band/three AP classes. I made the mistake of actually trying to challenge myself senior year. Blech.
And I'm very sorry to hear you all don't have very good musicians at your schools! There's a ton at mine. (Huge school though, my graduating class has about 800.) Even the guitar kids around here know what they're doing. We have a guitar studio class that you have to audition to get into with about 20 kids usually, taught by a godly awesome teacher.

I challenged myself senior year and it was still a joke, and I went to one of the best schools in the state. But 800 kids is insane, my class had 160 graduating. We had a pretty nice guitar ensemble and decent band.
Which APs are you taking?

Oh, I very much dislike you both. We haven't a decent guitar club set up. I plan to change that though. I'm going to see if Mr. Robito (The band teacher) has any interest in sponsoring the club. If not, I'll talk to my math teacher (he's a badass mother-ShutYoMouth!) because he's really interested in music and I'm sure some buttering up would make him happily agree to sponsor.
And @hellosara: Yeah. It's all good to be uninteresting with me around seeing as I'm both uninteresting and decidedly stupid. But the guitarists tend to be stupid with chords around here. "I'm gonna play 3 random power chords that have no relation to eachother in a shitty tempo/rhythm and then call it music. What do you say, guys?!" I mean, c'mon. Really, metal-head children?

Well, being in high school had it's advantages. I wish I was more into music so I could have been more active. I really didn't figure out that I wanted to double major in Music/Math until the end of last semester, and I'm not good enough at any of the instruments I play to get into a performance program, which sucks, but I'm happy enough with the academic major.
There are some pretty cool clubs here though that the university funds, so next semester I should be jamming at least once a week, and I might be DJing on the campus radio station (which would be ******** awesome, I'd get to actually somewhat influence people's musical taste for once).
I'm also pretty astounded that no one around here is really into any indie stuff (or at least those that are belong to the vast minority, although I guess that makes sense seeing that that's how the world is).
Yeah, but you could always start a club like you said. In high school we started up a paintball club and no one gave a s**t. It was awesome. Haha, there was also this club strictly devoted to playing Smash. Oh, good times. I miss the smaller community. CHERISH IT WHILE YOU CAN, ********. PRETTY SOON YOU'LL BE SUCKIN' DICKS IN THE CORNER OF SOME MASSIVE LECTURE HALL WITHOUT ANYONE NOTICING.
No, but seriously. You'll meet a ton of new people and probably fall in love and live happily ever after.
