 Deep under the oceans, there exists a species unknown to mankind: the mermaids. Every ocean is commanded by a certain mermaid kingdom. There are seven kingdoms for each of the seven oceans; the Pacifica, the Indiana, the Artica, and so on and so forth. But perhaps the most well-known and respected of the seven kingdoms is Atlantica, the kingdom of the Atlantic ocean. Its capitol, the city of Atlantis, is the grandest of all the mermaid cities. But that is not the main reason that Atlantica is honored. Perhaps it is the diversity of the region. Mer-vampires, mer-faeries, mer-lycans... The possibilities of crossbreeds are endless.
Though most mermaids are good in all sense of the word, there are also many neutral mermaids that go there own ways; as well as evil mermaids that have wicked hearts and twisted souls. These evil mermaids have chosen the path of darkness and pledged their alliance with Malfazar, the king of Hagsmire, which is the place we alternately know as Hell. While the evil mermaids are bound to Hagsmire because of their ties with Malfazar, the good mermaids are followers of Nyx, the goddess of Glamoura, which is the ethereal place we call Heaven. The forces of the realms of Hagsmire and Glamoura have been clashing for centuries, each ultimately trying to destroy the opposing force's leader. Neither Malfazar of Nyx have laid a scratch on one another, but all that is soon to change.
Malfazar's only son, Mallomar, is the heir to the throne of Hagsmire. In an attempt to work undercover, Malfazar sends Mallomar into the kingdom of Atlantica, but disguised as a mermaid. One by one, mermaids are dying slow and painful deaths, their souls drained and shattered by Mallomar. Word of these torturous murders eventually makes it way to Nyx. Infuriated by the news, Nyx sends her daughter, Nelle, down to Atlantica in order to slay Mallomar. But Mallomar proves to be stronger than Nelle and manages to win every duel, sending Nelle running and crying for mercy. Nyx, discouraged by these developments, decides to pick a Chosen One to unknowingly but instinctively guard Nelle and fight alongside her. The Chosen One would not know that she was Chosen until Nelle or Nyx decided to bestow the knowledge upon her.
Thus, the long and grueling siege continues, hurling Hagsmire, Glamoura, and the entire kingdom of Atlantica into chaos. How will the war end? Who will emerge victorious? Will the entire race of Atlantica mermaids be extinguished by the flames of war? Or will peace be restored by the glory of light and good? Only you can decide.....

 We understand that Sea of Blood is probably confusing, with all its fancy little details and histories. Well, here is all the information and terminology you need to know about mermaids and their culture in Atlantica. All your questions shall be answered here.Atlantican crossbreed - A mermaid from the kingdom of Atlantica that is half mermaid and half another species; such as a mer-neko, mer-vampire, mer-lycan, etc.
Atlantican mermaid - A mermaid from the kingdom of Atlantica that is mermaid through and through.
Angel - A deceased mermaid that has ascended to Glamoura and serves Nyx.
Angel army - An army of angel soldiers that defend Nyx, Glamoura, and all that is good.
C-mail - Mermaid e-mail. Short for "sea mail".
CV - Mermaid television. Short for "seavision".
Glamoura soldier - An angel that serves in the angel army.
Glamoura - The mermaid Heaven that is watched over by Nyx. All mermaids that have good hearts ascend to Glamoura when they die.
Malfazar - The wicked king of Hagsmire. He stands for all that is dark and evil. He and his demons terrorize Atlantica whenever possible and bring about natural disasters. He has a hatred toward Nyx.
Mallomar - The son of Malfazar. He is deceitful and strong, thus making him a formidable foe. His only known weakness is the power of light and purity.
Mermaid age - A mermaid's lifespan is significantly longer than a human's. Every 100 years for them is equal to 1 year for us. For example, a 16-year-old mermaid would actually be 1,600-years-old in mermaid years. The average mermaid lives to be around 60,000.
Nyx - The goddess of Glamoura. She stands for all things pure and good. She and her angels watch over Atlantica and do their best to grant the wishes and answer the prayers of Atlantican mermaids. Sha has a grudge on Malfazar.
Nelle - Nyx's daughter. Although not strong in body, she is strong in mind and has unfaltering faith in Nyx. She has a grudge on Mallomar.
Seanima - Mermaid cinema or theater. Pronounced "see-na-ma".
Spectre - The ghost of a deceased mermaid. One can only return to Atlantica as a spectre if they have unfinished business or are granted permission by either Nyx of Malfazar.

Bio: Selena had a mermaid mother and a vampire father; therefore inheriting the vampire gene and becoming a mer-vampire. Although mer-vampires are genrally bloodthirsty creatures of the night, Selena has always been different. She was born on the night of a lunar eclipse, gifting her with unknown magicks and cleansing her soul of evil. However, she still struggles with her bloodlust and has to restrain herself from biting fellow mermaids. Gradually, Selena has developed sturdy self-control, and sustains her well-being by preying upon smaller animals such as fish; as well as occasionally stocking up on blood from the hospital's blood bank. But along with the blessings of the lunar eclipse comes an age-old curse: on nights of a new moon, Selena needs to completely drain a mermaid of its blood and devour its internal organs, ripping the mermaid limb from limb and essentially eating it alive. The curse cannot be helped; for if Selena doesn't give in to her thirst on these nights, she will launch into a murderous frenzy as if possessed by a demon until her energy has been expended and she fades into the oblivion of death. Selena deals with this unpleasant curse by preying on mermaids in jail, so that innocent mermaids are spared.
Other Info: When Selena is satisfied, her eyes are a pure golden color. However, the thirstier she gets, the blacker her eyes become. On nights of the new moon, her eyes turn blood red.
Although Selena has no idea that she is the Chosen One, she has an overwhelming instinct to flank Nelle wherever she goes and guard her at all costs.

 Follow these rules. Or else.
1. This isn't only for girls, you know. Anyone can join.
2. This is a semi-literate RP. That means your posts must be at least close to a paragraph long. Just do your best.
3. No txt tlk. No1 wants 2 read it. *growls*
4. Keep it PG-13, please. That means you can cuss, but not too much. A slur of swear words isn't exactly nice to read, you know.
5. Violence is allowed, but keep it PG-13. If you're going to rip someone's head off, do it with as little gore as possible.
6. Romance is allowed, but again, keep it PG-13. Anything like making out or having you-know-what is forbidden. If you must, keep it a short and simple "they made love" and that will be the end of it.
7. No flaming, trolling, godmodding, etc.
