I think in the pilot 'death note' [white] the name could be erased from the death note with a special eraser and so they came back to life. I guess that eraser was kinda fulfilling the same purpose. [/white]

[/white] That'd definately be very interesting. Yet you know if there were a way later on what that'd mean, right? L would return back to life and if his memories come back as well, Raito could possibly be caught. That or at least make the story very interesting bringing us into a third arc. (Edit: Just now noticed L within the coughing ;P)

Even though Ryuuku is the type to keep things from Light then tell him later to make things more interesting.

I think it wouldn't be better than the original, because the interesting part is the dark side of the book and all the death stuff..

It says, though, in the rules that erasing the name won't change anything. This is probably one of the things that changed from the pilot to the series.
