This thread is for people who are in the (unofficial) Nature herd to discuss things. Where we want plottage to go, who's ready for some in-herd RP, who's gonna be scarce for a bit, Kirin we would like to drag into the herd, if their owners are open to the idea, etc.
Current order of business: Bringing the herd together! Any ideas on how we want to do it?
Past Orders of Buisness: -Herd name! We've been calling it the nature herd, but does that bring natural events and animal prints to mind for anyone else? I'm going with flora herd for now, but I'd like to see what other people think. Flora? Stick with nature? Other ideas?

I like the flora herd...but that would seem to limit the herd to only kirin based on plants. Which I'm not sure how I feel about. I like the idea in that it keeps it limited and would maybe suggest everyone have a closer diet (maybe), also that would leave it open for someone to start a fauna herd. I like the idea of a flora and a fauna herd. The problem seems in leaving out kirin that are nature based but not flora or fauna based...like water or stone kirin.

For possible kirin to be a part of the herd...if just going with the flora.... 1. ChaosTheories Acacia 2. JaddedTiger22's Zillah 3. sparrow_poppet's Talia 4. Una Tux's Shelia
Also what kind of herd are we going to have? Like female to male ratio?
We could probably start some rpage and work with our kirin's personalities to work out some of the herd operations. But it would probably be good to work out herd leadership before starting rp.

-points to Sil- Stone-based Kirin right here. xD I say stick with Nature herd, and fingers crossed it's pretty obvious to the animal-based owners that we're not including them.
So far the Lions and the Peacocks and the Surf n' Sand Kirin are sticking to their own, so I really don't think we have much to worry about them mistaking this herd for... whatever Sadi thought it could be mistaken for.
Sylver - We already approached sparrow on Talia. She has stated that she is not an RPer, but would be open to a non-RP breeding. I have already notified her of the activity requirements. Hopefully she won't forget them.
I think Nagi will be our true lead stallion, yes/no? I don't think there are other stallions that might fit in here... (correct me if I'm wrong).
I have already completely an RP between Sil and Nagi. I suggest that other mares get acquainted with Nagi via PRP, because I am at school and I don't want everyone to end up waiting on me for a tag.

I was thinking of you when I stated that Llia...I love the stone and I just noticed the rune cravings yesterday (So awesome). I looked through the whole owners list and I did not see any other stallions that would fit in this herd (that I could tell). I was expecting Nagi would be lead...I was more concerned with the lead mare. Digitalia is still too young to be a lead and maybe a little too proud but she would definately want to have as much say as possible in herd operations. It also looks like Nagi and Sil have a breeding agreement so I was thinking she could be lead, but I wasn't sure how involved you were wanting to be with the herd.
Oh what about Earth herd or something like Elemental Earth Herd.
It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have little meetings with Nagi and than maybe do a group rp a little latter.
I have school, work, and research too. I'm going to make this my main rp but probably won't be posting more than once a day. After Friday though I do have a month break from school. (Yes!)

Sorry I've not been around, been picking up extra shifts at work so online time's been in bursts, and then Gaia was all wonky today... sweatdrop
Nature Herd's fine with me, we can clarify to anyone who tries to enter an animal-themed Kirin. If none of the others in the founding-four object...?
Nagi's up for RP right now, but for at least the next few weeks I'll be slower than usual. I'm covering shifts for people, to be nice and to prepare for when I'm taking a week off mid-October. But feel free to start something and send me the link, I'll reply as I can.

Hey Sadi. <3 It's ok, I'll be cutting back on online activity too... trying to leave Gaia-time to just the weekend while using weekdays for academic learnings and piano practice.
No objection! And... who/where is our fourth member? -blinkblink-
Thanks Sylver! FYI, the rune carvings spell "Forest Guardian" in one of Tolkien's languages, though I can't remember which.
Like I mentioned in the thread, I do not think I can take any more leads than one out of seven Kirin I own. (Iris = matron of the rainbow family. Alucard and Nerissa do not count as their partners are not especially active, and their "herds" only consist of themselves, their mates, and their direct offspring.)
Lead requires high RP activity to keep the herd together and I cannot provide that, though for any and all Naturals RP Silarial gets involved in, I will not fail to deliver.
Heads-up: I have also been gearing Silarial towards Elder. Hence why she has been involved in the most number of RP out of all my Kirin. You may see her popping into other RP from time to time. However, I will never churn up some mini-metaplot for the Naturals herd just to further support her vying for Elder. I have neither the time nor energy to commit to such a large-scale story chapter.

This is my main online activity. I'm not sure what my course load will be like as I'm taking all upper division classes for the first time but I usually use stuff like this to give myself a break from the chaos during the day.
I think Akima is our 4th member I'm not sure which kirin though.
I have to finish Digi's backstory...which will probably be done today and than start an rp thread...which will role right out of her backstory.
I love tolkien.

Since the map is named and done should we start thinking about herd territory?

Yup. I am thinking somewhere deeply forested, but close to Aerithe's Grove - somewhere in the dark green region between it and the Sleepless Sands. That or we can have them all the way south, but I have a hunch that might be more "tropical" jungle than forest.

Sounds good to me. Since they've been RPing in forest, if they end up in anything else and we'll have to figure out why they migrated. lol

looking at the close up map I say we head for the small valley on the south side of the crescent mountains with the one river flowing through it.
