Janja gave a yawn, though the sun was just coming up. The sky was still dark, and Janja had been up for hours. Night time was always best – she enjoyed the crisp air that ran though her fur as she chased the small field mice and fireflies.
She gave another wide yawn... She needed to eat before she slept, she noted as she felt her stomach rumble. She sat with a frown tracing her maw. Morning was good for hunting, but...
Ah, she didn't know what to catch. The female's bright tale wrapped around her leg and she contemplated. She didn't really want to hunt alone – hunting alone was boring or a chore. So... who to wake?

Adeto was already awake. He always seemed to be awake at night or when Janga was around. For the first time, the male was away from his lake. Surely this was a moment for the history books. His head was down as he took step after step, glancing back to make sure the lake was still there. Of course it was but it didn't make him feel any safer. He took another step, hesitating. He didn't even know where she was from! Let alone how to find her or if she was awake. Such a foolish idea! He should turn his butt around and go back to the poor defenseless lake! But he couldn't... Instead he put his ears down and braved forward. Once he felt he was lost the male lifted his head up and let out a call for the female, hoping she could hear it and aid him.

It had been a long time since Uzuri had actually slept. Between the running and the searching, she hadn't felt like she could sleep. But after returning home, the nightmares started to subdue, and the feeling of the den was wonderfully comfortable, compared to the rocks and hard ground she was used to sleeping on previously.
Feeling a cool draft, Uzuri slowly blinked her eyes open. Night. The sweet smell of night air filled her nostrils, and she noticed movement from her mother. She let out a small whimper, trying to get her attention.

One of Janja's ears flicked to the side as she heard a whimper come from her den. It could only be one other, her only pup. She pulled herself up and peered into the small-ish den. “Uzuri...?” She asked in a whisper. She didn't want to wake her daughter up when she was sleeping. The girl seemed to not sleep often. The older female's bright orange body stuck out a bit against the green grass.
She heard a calling as well, and her head raised out of the den. Adeto? Her ears went down slightly. Well, she had to introduce her daughter and her mate sometime... She hoped it wouldn't go down bad... She called back.

He was loosing hope when Janja didn't answer right away. For the first time he felt less like a Water God and more like a real wild dog. He looked back over his shoulder and thought about turning and running. After all she was probably doing something of importance or sleeping. It was a silly idea anyway. He was already turned and in mid step when he heard her voice. Instictively he turned toward it and started in that direction. She was awake and she had heard him! How wonderful! His tail wagging he plowed through the grass, chirping for her everyonce in a while to find out where she was.

Uzuri could hear the whisper echo through the stillness of the den. She lifted her head, ears perked, and stared at Janja for a moment. She was about to say something when she heard her let out a call. Who was she calling? Being gone for so long, Uzuri couldn't honestly say she knew of any friends or relationships her mother may have had, so it wasn't a huge surprise.
"Who's that?" she stood, walking over to stand next to her mother, staring out into the darkness, blue eyes glowing.

The tan-orange dog held back a wince. She knew she should have told her pup about Adeto before something like this happened. “Ah... It's Adeto...” She called out to him again once she finished her sentence. She tilted her head and quirked a small almost lost smile. She didn't know what to do... She gave a small sigh and kept the small chirping up until he could find her.

The dog barreled through the underbrush with his tail held high. He was close! He could smell her scent all around the area. He stopped for a moment to mark once or twice before trotting carefully to her den. He stopped his nose twitching. Another one? He could smell a female, young. He slowly crept up chirping quietly so she knew it was him before coming into view. "Janga... I'm glad to see you." He said bowing his head slightly.

Swiveling her ears to the side, Uzuri heard both the chirping and pawsteps of an incoming dog. She closed her eyes, inhaling the scent deeply. "So this....Adeto. Is he....?" she left the question hanging, not wanting to put words in anyone's mouth. He seemed to be close to her, though, by the way he spoke to her.

The orange dog gave a light chuckle. She walked over to nuzzle the tri-colored male affectionately. “Introductions are in order I guess.” Her voice slightly shook from being nervous. She decided to sit somewhere in between the two.
“Alright, so Uzuri, this is my...” Er.. Something. Mate, Lover? Friend? “Mate...” She hoped he was anyways, she really did like him, even if it wasn't confirmed. Not really anyways. She paused, ears falling slightly to the side. “And Adeto, this is my pup.” She smiled a bit, albeit nervously.

The dog blinked looking rather startled at the affection but he was a male and eager to return it. After all, well he liked her. She made him leave his lake! That had to mean something. "I would hope so." He said smilng at the adolesent. He sat down, his large ears errect and interested. This is her...? He turned, mouth open slightly in a gawk. Her mate?! Were they really? He had wanted to ask her but if she already thought so. Well that made it easier. He blinked again at the next part. "Your... pup?" He leaned over to sniff at the younger female. "Is there...ah a male involved...other then me, I mean." For the first time he seemed nervous and out place.

Uzuri tilted her head. So something did happen while she was away. It seemed a little odd to her that her mother hadn't told her of Adeto, but since she wasn't really her pup, it made sense.
She turned her solemn stare into a smile, wanting to answer the male's question, before any misunderstanding tore the two apart. "No no, I'm not....." she looked over at Janja, unsure of exactly what she should say to him.

“No!” She almost jumped up. “There's no other male, she shook her head a bit vigorously. She hoped she didn't seem like a liar or anything. “I found her just before I met you, but she's still my pup.” She said with conviction, he heart slightly racing, and her stomach churning, though not in hunger. She almost felt light vomiting, but her mouth went dry. She breathed deeply and forced herself to calm down.

Adeto took all this in for a moment before his muzzle fell down into a panting grin. Good. He was glad he was her only male. He smiled at the pup. "Well its wonderful to meet you... I was going to invite you mother to a hunt......and uh well since I'm her mate... ah maybe we should make it a family outing?"
