Elysium

Welcome to Eylsium, the magical school created by the gods. Elysium welcomes all the students who have inherited the gods gifts of elemental magic. Here you will be trained to control the power coursing through your veins and taught to use your gifts with honour and morale.

At Elysium there are six disciplines of magic in which you can be trained they are; Shadow, Light, Water, Earth, Air and Fire. Once enrolled at Elysium you will be trained in one of the six.

Those that attend Elysium gain their spectacular abilities through a stange phenomenom. Each person has imbued within them an avatar. Essentially it is the soul and core of your magic. Avatar come in many forms most typically animals. Those that are more trained are able to project their avatar into a visual form, many are even able to communicate with it.

History of Elysium

Many, many, many years ago a young god ventured to Earth to explore the world and its many treasures and mysteries. During his adventures he met a beautiful young woman with whom he fell in love with. Like many sad love stories theirs was one of the saddest. The woman who loved him equally aged with each passing year, they had a family, six beautiful children who all gained the gods immortality. In what seemed like the blink of an eye to the god and his children she passed away.

The god, who the children began to call the All-Father went into hiding because of his overwhelming sadness. He left his six children to roam the earth in his absence. It was discovered however, that these six gained more then just his immortality, his magic had been divided between them six ways-Shadow, Light, Fire, Water, Earth and Air.

The children had already begun families of their own passing on these traits to generation after generation. Typical of the human race these people were presecuted for their differences. The six children vanished bring with them those they could and thus Elysium was created, in a place where no human could stumble upon and protected by the most ancient of magic.

Over the years the six children and their descendents gathered more and more of their kind and brought them to the school until it grew into a thriving place full of young and old alike. It was practically a small village surrounded by mountains and forests, a sparkling lake and perched on the high cliffs away from other humans.

Unknown to all something dark and sinster was growing there. Lunin the son of Shadow was angry, irritated that his father had abandoned them, furious that his siblings were sharing their knowledge and powers with the weak descendants they had all produced. He wanted to wipe out the school and all associated with it, though his plan failed.

The All Father stepped into the ensuing fight and locked his son away in a stone of onxy shaped as the moon and hid it within the grounds of the school. To maintain the balance of elements his other children sealed away their avatars within similar crystals and went into hiding with their father. Their descendants were now more then capable of running Elysium.

Hundreds of years have passed since that day, and Lunin has being desperately trying to find ways to break free of his prison. It seems he has come very close to finding that way....

School Rules

1. Always follow GAIA TOS
2. No godmodding or flaming
3. No obsceneties, cybering or other undesirable behaviour, I have the right to black list you.
4. Not so much a rule as a request, please keep posts semi-lit and at least three sentences. I am aware that sometimes thats not possible.
5. DO NOT CONTROL ANOTHER PLAYER UNLESS THEY GIVE YOU PERMISSION.
6. I will allow out of character comments as long as they have ((OOC smile ) around the comment.

Those are my main rules, if I happen to think of other things I may add them. If you have a problem with another player please tell me, do not start fights that could be avoided.

Magic Discipline: Shadow

Avatar: Unknown
Abilities: Kuro has a particularly strong aptitude in creating shadow weapons, essentially any weapon but it appears in a condensed form of shadow giving it an entirely black appearance. She can also travel through shadow. Her main spell is Shadow Storm which sends bolts of black electricity at her opponent, this spell requires an immense amount of power so she rarely uses it.
Bio: Kuro appeared at Elysium much later then other students with no recollection of how she got there. Her teachers have not been able to determine her strength because they have been unable to find a static image of what her avatar looks like. Despite being only 16 this is only her second year at the school. She is usually quiet and remains seperated from her classmates.

Character Name: Damian Hartless
Magic Discipline: Earth
Age: he's approximately seventeen years of age
Appearance: User Image

Abilities: Damian can control any plant life
Avatar: appears as differnt species of snake
Bio: Damain has always been a quiet child and seemed to have a gift for growing plants and the like. Being the way he is, Damian will sometimes forget major events but remember small details of a conversation, and that's why if you ask why or how he got here, he'll give you a blank stare.

Character Name: Melanie Cobalt
Magic Discipline: Fire
Age: 15
Appearance: User Image

Abilities: The sword (can mix her sword and fire together to create her flame sword) and her flame specialty is the whip, but can do so much more with the element.
Avatar: fox
Bio: Melanie (nickname:Mel) lived with her father and brother in the North, but after becoming eligible for the school, moved to Elysium. She has a short temper, especially if someone calls her short, where she can go from just a yelling spaz to a full blown flame eruption. She is easy to befriend, but she can tell when a person is not in the right. Is 4'11"

Magic Discipline: Air
Age: 17
Appearance: User Image

Abilities: Air Attack (Air bullets get shot at victim) and, Air whistle (A high pitch whistle from the wind is shot into the victims ear drums, leaving temp. damage or permanent damage. Depends on how powerful.)
Avatar: She can appear as a Weasel. The colour of her fur changes depending on her mood.
Bio: Karina is a loving girl who just wants to be able to control her power better than she can already. She is extremely shy and outgoing when she wants to be. Under pressure she is smart, but when caught off guard she has her moments.

Character Name: Scarlet Herron
Magic Discipline: Water
Age: Eighteen

Abilities: Scarlet has the ability to control water with deadly accuracy. She can freeze the mosture in the air to create ice as sharp as knives. She also has the ability to melt into a puddle of water and transport to a new puddle. However this takes a lot of energy and she only does it in a real emergency.
Avatar: A large blue lizzard
Bio: Scarlet was orphaned when she was just a baby when her parents were killed in a mysterious fire. She found growing up at the orphanage a very hard experience. While the people who took care of the children were nice, the building was cold and falling apart. Life didn't seem to be getting any better until one day a stranger came to her and told her about a school for people with special talents. She joined the school and studied very hard to gain control of her powers.

Important FOOT NOTES about story

-The six avatars of the gods are currently sealed away ultimately the plot should head towards one student of each element gaining one of those avatars THEREFORE the following avatars are banned until further notice. Wolf (shadow), Lion(light), Bull(earth), Leviathan/Dragon(water), Phoenix/Eagle(fire), Pegasus/Horse(air) these six play key parts of the story and duplicates will ruin it.

-The wolf is the shadow avatar and is reserved for Kuro as it is Key to her back story.

(((OOC: Sorry I havent responded I havent been on gaia in days because of work and other stuff)))

Kuro sat on one of the stone benches within the courtyard at her new school. She had never expected to end up in such a fantastical place. She stared at the books in her lap. Magical Theory, Elemental Spell Casting and the History of Elysium.

She sighed. Things at this school weren't much different from her original one. She was still having trouble fitting in and making friends. The students in her own Shadow Dorms were picking on her already...she had come later then most students and they seemed to think this made her weaker then most. Though according to her teachers she had alot of potential.

She stood up to head back into the school when a large boy a few years ahead of her but the same age smacked the books out of her hands. She looked up at him with a blank face before bending to pick them off the grass. The bully was laughing loudly with a bunch of his friends.

Damian was playing with a small garden snake he had found in the rose bush which he planted in the courtyard just a week ago. His eyes flinted over to a girl, watching he carefully. She seemed quiet and sweet. Watching a large boy approach her and cause her trouble, Damian got to his feet and walked over to the girl and grabbed up her last book and handed it to her. "Here you go, hun." He said sweetly before turning to the large male, his golden eyes suddenly becoming dangerous. "Come near the girl again and I'm sure my giant pet Venus fly trap will be more than happy to suck your being dry of its juices, leaving nothing more but a husk behind." His voice was cold and devilishly delighted. Though, Damian was no psycho, he certainly didn't have a problem acting like one.

I cannot be buried if my ashes are scattered.

Damian's eyes flickered over to the girl who spoke. "No one ever said I was nice and they never said I was cruel either." He said and looked back at the bully and flicked his wrist. A vine shot up from the ground and wrapped itself around the large male. He turned to the dark haired girl. "Be careful now." He said sweetly before he turned and followed after the girl. "Besides, you are in no position to speak. You don't even know me."

Staring at her, Damian wonder what she was up to. "Does that mean I'm going to find you hanging around me just so you can end up learning about who I am?" He asked raising an eyebrow. Well, there wasn't anything too exciting about him. He usually hung about the plants and grew some new ones of he spoke to them, which most found odd, but even earth had a voice of her own.
