Alright guys Im back from the Movies.
BandSlam is a mediocore attempt at introduceing bands like Velvet Underground and Bad Brains to the retarded youth that watches Nick and Cartoon Network. Just like what it seems to advertise it delivers; Highschool musical humor and story with Counter-culture undertones.
Let me run this movie down as quick as I can:
New Kid In school gets picked on in his old school. Moves to some county in the ******** middle of nowhere where he meets a girl whose about as weird as her lame attempt at being original (Her names "Sa5m the 5 is slient" BTW). Kid later gets picked by the total senior bombshell of the school to be the manager of her band after he goes on and on about how the band Velvet Underground is the most epic thing since Bloc Party. The band has the funny stereotypical guitarist and bassist; an asian kid with a british accent, and a ADD kid who trys to act like Flea form the RHCP. The drummer is a 3rd year repeater at the school and has, who'd-a-guess, anger problems, yet he's somehow able to play these smooth Jazz beats in under 2 minutes of being asked to. This Plot gets even worse guys. Basically after meeting the band the kid falls in love with Sa5m and really just ignores her for more then half the movie (Good example huh guys) . THe only time she really becomes important is at the end when she has to take the Senior Bombshells place as lead singer after she quits the band because her dad dies. Anyway lets skip to the end because everyhting after that is just sypical kiddie-movie s**t. THEn ending is basically where the protagonist band "I Cant Go On, I'll Go On" plays a random ska song(This movies shoves Ska down your throat like Juno did Shitty Acoustic Alternative) and ends up looseing the compition, but guess what!!? David Bowie just happens to see the band preform live thatnks to a youtube video from someones camera phone and offer the band a recording deal. Happy ******** end. More like cop-out end that we all saw comeing after you see the kid write e-mails to Bowie every other 5 minutes as narrative filler.
Anyways guys... Worth the rent but not the sit through the theatre or buy
If you guys have any more questions about this movie jsut ask them here.

lol, I read it. Just be patient. I still might see this s**t in theaters and piss off a bunch of tweenage hipsters. I might stage a cell phone call that lasts like 45 minutes or something. That's always fun.

Sounds like it might be fun. VU deserve some extra cash anyway, seeing as they're probably the most influential band in the world.

Well, if you thought that was s**t. . . You're going to review just about every single ******** movie out there as s**t and a**. Why? Because you obviously don't understand that as Americans we all go to the movies to feel good. Not to have some amazingly sad plot twist ruin the end. I personally would prefer the latter, but oh ******** well. We all know that's not going to happen. Just give up on being an American critic. Critique French cinema. You'll like it more.

I actually do go to movies to see amazingly sad plot twists. They don't ruin the movie, they make the movie. Wall-E is certifiably the greatest movie that I have ever seen that ended happily.

Your attempt at looking like a HXC Reg. has failed; go back to the Musicians sub-forum. Its obvious you saw this movie and got a boner so hard that it could go through the interwebs and went into space later punching "The Alien" in the throat.

I have no idea what HXC is for starters. Secondly I have yet to see the movie, and don't plan on it unless one of my friends drags me to it. I'm giving you my opinion of your opinion. There's not a lot of american movies that end sadly. Not anymore, at least. @Hect: I don't think so either. That's more of the take that the usual American populace would give you. Sad endings ruin movies. Have you seen Premonition? That one had a great plot twist, but I saw it coming. So it scored something of a 1 and 1/2 thumbs up.

I'm just going to give up. Because I don't need your sad attempt at demonstrating male dominance. Go pontificate to someone else you think is your subordinate.

the skipping records05 I guess he really did give up Oh well it was fun while it lasted. Well, for good movies! District 9 was a Low-budget miracle! It was awesome, Better than a ******** Halo movie would have been, for sure. It combined Mindless killing, and a plotline. Rarely done. Bravo, I'd say.
