The first time I heard it I cried. Best part of the whole song is when he says "When it's time to live and let die, and you cant get another try." Green Day has written pretty awesome songs but this one is by far the best. Damn, I love this song so much and they dont overplay it on the radio. When it gets overplayed it just ruins the song dont you think? That's why I feel like screaming everytime they play Second Chance. Dont get me wrong I love the song but it just gets old you know? 21 Guns truely is an excellent song. It made me stop and reflect on everything, primarily friends and my brother who are soldiers or going to join and are likely to be sent off to war. Kinda just made me realize exactly how senseless it was and what I as a regular citizen could lose from it, let alone what the people I know will lose.
I have to agree with the overplaying xD I know they did that to Wake Me Up When September Ends when it first came out though I didn't listen much to the radio back then, just whatever music I had myself. But again I don't really hear it at all, every once and awhile would be fine, maybe a couple times a week or more, but not like Second Chance, Sound of Madness or (most recently) Undead by Hollywood Undead (which is played at least five times a day here.)
I like the music video for 21 Guns, though I have to admit that I was expecting something portraying more to the war, but I believe that using two average people makes it strike closer to home and I think that's exactly what they were trying to do. Billie Joe, Mike and Tre really set the atmosphere with how they "play" in it.
I just saw them August first actually, and it was f**king amazing when they played this song; I'll never forget it.

I've only heard it twice on the radio but the first time my friend played it for me it was unexplainable...... It took me one time to memorize all the words to it because its so easy to relate to.

I love the song and video. It was so freakin' awesome, but that twitchy thing he does with his lip distracted me a little. I still love it though. They could play it a lot more on the radio.
