Aryaisha was napping in the shade of small tree. The day was too hot to really do anything, the nearest water source was a few hours walk west, and any food, if he even felt like hunting, had found shelter from the sweltering day. Dark clouds gathered in the east but other then those the sun was given free reign to beat down upon the mostly flat grasslands, only the group of trees scattered here and there provided shade, there wasn't even a breeze to provide any relief.

The harsh sun was rather soothing on Maua's floral spine. Sure, the heat was almost sweltering and water wasn't for a while, but she liked it. Some of the creatures around her were panting, but she had already hunted.
In fact, her kill was in her jaws. A fat hare had been bounding towards its shelter when it saw her, but it was far too late. Maua hust snapped it up and went in serch of a tree.
Because leopards eat in trees. Honestly, she didn't know where else to eat - she learned to take her kills into tree, it was just odd not too. Plus, nothing could get her prey in the tree, except maybe birds.
But those were different...
Look, a tree! Maua gave a small sound of excitement in the back of her throat and started trotting towards the small tree. Sure, small, but enough for her to lay in.

Aryaisha was not happy, for once his fur was making his life harder. His dark coloring seemed to attract the heat and even though he was in the shade he was still hot. He woke from his nap grumbling about the heat. He was shifting, trying to find a cooler spot, when he hear someone approaching. Ary didn't mind sharing the meager shade but always aware of the dangers of the rouge lands, he sat up and took a look around.
When he spotted a green floral leopardess heading his way he smiled, thinking, Great company!

Upon reaching the tree she saw she had company. She was unsure is she should stay here now, she shifted nervously - her kill still clutched in her jaw. She couldn't share! She was hungry, and she didn't know if the lion wanted food. She frowned around the hare.
She pondered just running or dashing up the tree.

Aryaisha quickly introduced himself, "Hello, my name is Aryaisha and you are welcome to share my shade with me." Ary completely ignored the fact that she had a kill, he had hunted his fill earlier, but he was so bored that he was almost cub-like in his actions. He scooted over to make room if the leopardess decided to stay, and with a big goofy grin he said "Sorry if I'm odd I'm just so freaking board that I would love some company."
The dark clouds in the east were slowly growing in size, like a pot boiling over, as well as spreading slowly across the horizon. And where they were a soft gray they had changed to a menacing dark gray.

Maua shifted before stepping into the shade. It took her another moment to start climbing to a low branch above the lion. She knew some lions could climb, but still. He expressed that, in so many words, that he wouldn't take her kill after all.
With a comfortable position in the limbs of the tree, she spoke. "Hello, sir," she said hesitantly, using the branches, though low, to hide most of herself in shyness. She flicked her pink eyes towards the storm clouds and gave a small frown.

It seemed that he didn't even need to move since the leopardess just climbed to a low branch of the tree where she effectively hid from sight by using the branches to hid behind. Aryaisha let her have her 'privacy' but still talked to her even if he was watching the grasslands and not her, "You dont have to call me sir, call me Ary, sir makes me seem so old and I can't be much older then you."
The storm was slowly but surly heading in from the east and as it traveled it seemed to grow in size and strength. A warm breeze proceed the storm, making the grass ripple and flow like a golden wave before the storm.

The floral female peered over the branch at the chestnut male, a smallexpression of confusion. "Alright, s... Ary," she nodded, a frown crossed her facve for a moment.
Maua pulled a chunk from the hare before speaking. "I suppose not, Ary. I'm just used to it..." A pause, she pulled another chucnk from the rodent to think if what to say.
"Are you from around here," the leopardess' tone wasn't terribly curious, but she was drawing what she knew of conversation to bring to this. She didn't know -she hadn't talked to many. She shifted awkwardly in the tree, though days upon days of practice held her to the branches.

Aryaisha smiled to himself as he heard her almost call him sir again, it wasn't that he disliked it but it made him feel really old as well as stuffy which he never wanted to be again. "Am I from around here? Nope can't say as I am. I am a wanderer by nature and I have been so many different places its a little hard to keep them all straight in my head. How about you?" During this entire conversation he just watched the storm brewing in the distance, trying to give this female as much privacy as she wanted even if it meant that he would talk to her but not look at her, which made him uncomfortable since it seemed rude.
As the storm grew those who were watching could see the dark clouds light up as lightning flashed, and thunder could be heard faintly.

"Hmm," Maua thoughtfully mummbled as she continued eating the hare. A frown crossed her maw. "Well, I go where I go I suppose." She told him, looking over the branch again. The floral female turned her head to the direction of the storm. Her eyes sparkled - she loved rain.
Just the lightning she could do without. But for now, she didn't know what to say.

Aryaisha shifted a bit as the wind played with his fur and the grass at his feet. He didn't know what to say, normally the others he has met have been very open and asked lots of questions or there was at least a conversation started. But with this leopardess it seemed like she wanted some peace and quiet so that is what he did, he sat quietly thinking about nothing in particular. He was playing with a stone, batting it between his two front paws as he watched the storm come.
The blackening clouds kept coming, like a dark avalanche, turning the bright savanna dark except for the flash of the lighting and the roll of the thunder. Ary could even see the sheet of rain that obscured the grasslands beneath the massive storm. "Oh goody," He said sarcastically under his breath.

The green leopardess quickly finished her meal, as not to be rude - eating without offereing anything - she felt horrible for it. "I apologize, sir - er... Ary. I'm not a great person to talk to," Shame was clearly presant in her voice. She knew she wasn't good to talk to.
She just never had anything to say. A sigh, she watched the rolling storm coulds rapidly approaching.

Aryaisha wanted to assure this leopardess that she was just fine and there was no reason to apologize but when he opened his mouth to say just that lighting forked the air and a large peal of thunder followed soon after. He looked out at the clouds that seemed to be just feet away and said, "Well its a good thing I needed a bath anyway." His horrible attempt at humor fell flat, or to him it did. "Anyway there is nothing to apologize for since silence is just as good as talking." he finally got to say what he wanted to at first, right before another big peal of thunder rumbled, right before the clouds opened up and it started to rain.
The wind was making his long main whip around and he knew that the tree could not feel all that sturdy in this heavy wind and rain. "You know it might be safer here on the ground." He called up to the leopardess.

The leopardess looked down to the ground, giving a small snort of laughter at the dry joke. "Alright," she nodded, a little unsure - she still felt better after the apology though. Maua strected her long back and shivered with the rain.
Lightning flashed, and she frowned. Lightning always fortold danger in trees. Maua simply dropped from the tree in agreement. "You're right, it's safer," she said with a cocked smile, slightly ansty.
She felt in her chest that rain was a great place to be - she always loved rain. She forced herself to remain here, though, not wanting to feel rude for leaving when she so often hated when others left.

Ary watched the storm rage outside of their little shelter. He smiled at her when the leopardess joined him on the ground but for the most part stayed silent. Even under the tree the rain still got through so even though they were out of the rain Ary still got wet.
He was so focused on the storm outside that at first he couldn't tell when his company was really tense. When he really did notice he thought she was afraid of the storm, not that she wanted to play in it. "Its ok, I'm sure lightning wont strike here."
