Alastar was sitting on the stone steps that led up to his front door. Both hands were on his walking stick and he had a pleasent smile on his face.

Delila practically skipped towards towards the professors hut as she made her way down the hill. "Hey prof!" She called out, "what are we working on today?"

Trista was in her wolf form; she had managed to transform that morning with almost no problems. She trotted gracefully towards Professor Alastar's hut. As she approached the teacher and other students, she quickly morphed back into her human state and gathered around the professor with the other two girls.
"Good morning, everyone." Trista smiled at the present class.

Persephone strolled down the hill to the professor's hut. She didn't technically have to be there, since she was in the N.E.W.T. class, but she liked being around everyone and she had the free time.
She reached the hut and saw a few others there already. She smiled and greeted everyone, including the professor.

"Today we'll be working on Ashwinders and Augureys, Delila. Please gather 'round while we wait for the rest of the class." he added as he started to get up of the steps.
Ryu walked down the grounds to Care of Magcal Creatures. He gathered with the other students and waited.

Delila couldn't keep a grin from spreading across her face. She had worked with Ashwinders last year in potions, and she was pretty well aware of their properties. However, she had never seen an Augurey before, and this excited her.

Alastar took his pocket watch out and looked at it. He put it away and looked back at the students. "5 absent. . . " he muttered. "Ok. I'm gonna have to ask you all to give any information I give you to your fellow classmates, or have them see me in my hut. Let's get on with the lesson. Can anyone tell me how Ashwinders are created?"

Persephone raised her hand.
"Ashwinders are created when a magical fire burns for too long, with no one there to control it. They form from dust and ash and slither out of the embers."

"Yes, 5 points to Gryffindor. Can anyone tell me how a magical fire is created?" said Alastar.
Ryu immediatly said, "A magical fire is created when you put a magical substance, such as Floo Powder, into it."
"Good, 5 points to Slytherin. Now, what do Ashwinder's look like?"

Delila raised her hand. "Are they not thin grey serpents with bright red eyes?" She bit her lip and then continued. "Their eggs are bright red and firey hot, and neither survive long if they aren't frozon in time." She smiled broadly hoping that she had given the right information, and that she wouldn't get in trouble for giving too much.

Miranda walked up to the class not in any great hurry. When she heard the voices of the class she realised she must be a little late
hmmm she thought I didn't notice the time... ooops and she listened to figure out what the topic was.

Mitsu had arrived behind Miranda, grinning some as she listened to the answers. She had never really had an interest in the class but it was now or never she thought. At the question she raised her hand but immediately dropped it when the other girl answered instead and smiled a bit to herself as she filed away all the information for when she needed it. She was more hands on anyway.

"Good, Delila. 5 points to Gryffindor. Now, allow me to point some things out. Their eggs suurvive without being frozen, but if not frozen, will eventually start a fire. Aswinders live for about an hour or so to lay eggs, then die in a heep of ash. Now, can anyone tell me the use for Aswinder eggs?"

Ginger, tailing Mitsu and Miranda so closely she nearly tripped over their feet, tried to listen very carefully to what they were discussing in class. She had no clue what the topic was, but she mumbled a sincere apology for being late to their professor, feeling slightly guilty at having overslept. She didn't get nearly enough sleep lately, so it wasn't surprising her body had refused to wake up that morning.
