We have the bashing thread.
So why not have a debate thread?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves her.
So lay it on me, why do you hate her so much?
And if you say "'Cause she's a slut!" support your statement with real reasons.

Lol, I believe that all of our reasons are stated in the Kairi Bashing thread. Why don't you state some of your reasons why you like her, and we'll reply? :3

Well, alright.
She's not THAT bad of a character for starters.
She's simpley not as complex as you make her to be.
She's a static love interest, who remains the same through out the story.
She can't be a slut, she can't be a whore, she can't even be manipulative.
She's just that not deep, y'know?
The only role she represents in the game is drive.
She's the reason Sora drove to find her and Riku.
She's the reason that Riku went to the dark side.(Which is good.)
Without her, the game wouldn't really exsist.
And my reasoning for loving her?
Your reason for hating her.
Well...
She's like my Ex-Girlfriend, from what we can tell about ehr personality.
Playful, sincre, fun-loving, etc.
And she looks exactly like my ex.
Like, really. First time I saw her, I was just like "Double-yew Tee Eff? It's Denise?"
So yeah.
You can hate her, but I love her for memories. =P

Because I wanna be a jerk today...my comments in bold. Kthnxbai. :'DNicky Sarian Well, alright. She's not THAT bad of a character for starters. Oh really? Please explain why she never once recognized Riku for what he did for her and felt the need to run away with Sora in the beginning. She's not evil, but she's not all that innocent either. Something that most people automatically assume about her.She's simpley not as complex as you make her to be. That's why we hate her. Her personality ISN'T complex. It's simple. She's such a recyclable (so to say) cliched Squaregirl. u_uShe's a static love interest, who remains the same through out the story. She's kinda DEAD for most of the story.She can't be a slut, she can't be a whore, she can't even be manipulative. Eh, I agree. Somewhat. She's not completely innocent and if she had the chance, I'm sure she'd keep Sora all to herself.She's just that not deep, y'know? What? o_oThe only role she represents in the game is drive. I dunno. The only major role she has in the game is being one of the Princesses. She has no symbolic role. Uh, Sora was looking for Kairi AND Riku. It wasn't because of Kairi that Sora also looked for Riku. She does have her fair share of negative traits - she is human after all. But she also has some nice one's too; albit being a bit manipulative (even if I was impartial, I wouldn't have missed that...).
I think that she might be a leo personality - they don't really mean to be mean, selfish, or obnoxious, or whatever... But they are sometimes, without realising it. Also, if we follow that she is that archatype, then she also has many good qualities, such as... such as... um... uh...

So I can't think of any good leo traits at the moment, that doesn't mean anything!

Though, the skirt pretty much says it for her =P

I didn't think Kairi was so bad, I mean it's not as if she had enough of an active role in the story as much as being a partial reason for the progression of the story.
Plus you can't know what Kairi was feeling or thinking during Kingdom Hearts except for the fact she cared for Sora, Most of the story she's either not present, talking with Sora, or unconcious with Riku and the Disney villians, that's not much to base hatred on.
o.O;;;
(of course I was probably fantasizing about Leon and Cid heart )

>.< Yeah, he went along with Maleficent's plan, and kidnapped the princesses in order to find out where Kairi was. Not to mention, he kidnapped Pinocchio in an attempt to give her back her heart. Oh, and there was also that whole scene in Hollow Bastion where Riku temporarily overcame Ansem's control, and told her, Donald, and Goofy to run. Hopefully, Kairi realized at that point that Riku had just saved her from being killed by Ansem... ><
