After sitting silently, listening to the soft breathing of the woman and her Essentic, Ziazan moved around and put a hand on Rhian's back. "Little one, it's been long enough, yeah? Think we should wake her up to go see Faolan now?"

Rhian, despite usually being a heavy sleeper, was pulled to immediate wakefulness by Ziazan's touch - perhaps because she had gotten used to awakening right as Ellandra did to help ground her. Indeed, upon the contact the flutterby's eyes opened and she instantly started humming, before she looked around and saw that Ellandra was still asleep, and that it was her sibling speaking to her. Rhian nodded at Ziazan and fluttered over to land on Ellandra.
"Mama? Mama, time to wake up, we need to go now."
Ellandra responded more slowly than Rhian had to the waking prompt, however it was still relatively quickly - as soon as she began stirring, Rhian started to hum softly and gently brushed her with her antennae. "Hmm.... Rhian? What -" The brunette began to ask, before her thoughts cleared and she shook her head to get rid of the remaining fuzziness. "Yes, you're - you're right. . . we do need to get going."

Ziazan gave a slightly guilty look at having woken the woman so soon after she fell asleep, but it wanted its owner fixed. Now. And this woman was the only one that could rightly do the job. The Alter quickly scrabbled to its feet and held out it's small hands to help the woman up. "Come on, Mama."

Ellandra nodded and, taking Ziazan's help, stood up - though she wobbled a bit at first until she gained her bearings. All the while, Rhian hummed softly, hovering close by. One Ellandra was steady, Rhian flew into her arms and snuggled up to her, saying, "Let's go now, Mama, we'll make it better soon!"

The young Alter nodded. "Rhian's right. It's been long enough." It led the woman easily down the steps of the vardo, then walked with her across the grounds. Usually a-bustle with people, performers and otherwise, the camps proved to be easy to traverse, the people stopping and moving out of the way to let Ellandra by. Secrets weren't easily kept in a community as tightly-knit as the didikai were, and most, if not all, knew about Faolan's depression. His wife coming home was a small hope to them that the young man would be normal again soon--normal for him, anyway.

The brunette sighed softly as she walked, fear and worry attempting to slow her steps as Ziazan led her through the grounds. Throughout the walk, Rhian hummed at an almost-inaudible level, trying to keep Ellandra together so that she, in turn, could help piece Faolan back together. And maybe, in time, their family could be happy again. At least, the flutterby hoped so. She didn't like feeling so much misery and dejection from her Mama, and could only surmise that such feelings would be only worse coming from Faolan, in turn bringing Ellandra's feelings lower with the added burden of guilt she was now carrying.

Ziazan stopped at Keagan's vardo and looked up at Ellandra. "Keagan should be home. So, whenever you're ready."

"I don't think there's. . . any way I can truly be ready, Ziazan," Ellandra said softly. Absently, she toyed with the necklace she'd re-donned, her gaze dropping to her wrist where the re-tied ribbon rested once again. Her nervousness and worry was growing, and she was trembling faintly, despite Rhian's attempt at comfort.

"Alright," Zia said softly, and stepped up to knock on the door.
From inside a somewhat weary and less-gruff-than-usual voice called, "It's open."
The Alter pushed the door open and peered inside, giving a small wave to Keagan where the old man sat in a chair by the bed with a cup of soup, attempting to get Faolan to eat. Amazingly, the young man was sitting up and did actually seem responsive to food.
"Um, if this isn't a bad time, there's someone here to see him," Zia said.
"Just tell them he's had all the visitors he wants fae now an' t'come back some other time," Keagan said, focusing his attention back on his son. "Come on, lad. Few more spoonfuls an' Ah'll get you some puddin' fae desert."
The Essentic wasn't so easily brushed off. "He'll want to see this visitor, Keagan. Trust me."
Keagan looked up, narrowing his eyes at the Alter a moment, then sighed. "Fine, boy. Send them in. Just so they donnae gae t'interruptin' Fao's dinnertime." He went back to tempting his son with spoonfuls of soup, trying to get more in the young man's mouth than on the napkin he had tucked in the front of his shirt.
Zia moved out of the way so Ellandra could come in, giving her a hopeful look. This just had to work.

Ellandra took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a very long moment. She heard Ziazan and Keagan talking, and from just that bit of conversation she could tel that it was bad. Very bad. But . . . she had to go in. She needed to try and fix this - if even she could. Step by waddling, timid step she made her way int the vardo, pausing in the doorway, grabbing at the frame for support as she got her first glimpse of the condition Faolan had sunk into. Trembling overtook her frame, and Rhian's humming increased to a rather loud volume until the woman had regained her feet a bit.
Blinking back the tears that had filled her eyes - though rather unsuccessfully - Ellandra bit her lip and called out a half-choked, shaky, ". . . .Faolan?"

Faolan didn't move at his name being called, other than his eyes flicking towards the door.
On the other hand, Keagan was more than actively surprised for both of them. "About time you came home, lass. 't was a foolish thing t'do," he said not unkindly. He held up the cup of soup. "Feel like takin' o'er? Might get him t'respond more t'you."

Ellandra nodded a little and made her way over to Keagan and Faolan, her eyes damp with tears. "I'm a fool twice over, Keagan, and I know it now," she said softly, Rhian's humming remaining consistently high as she strove to keep her Mama from breaking down on the spot, because it was so painful for Ellandra to see Faolan like this, and to know that she, and only she, was to blame.

"Nae more a fool than me idiot son fae makin' you feel you had t'leave," Keagan said, getting up so Ellandra could sit. He handed her the cup of soup, a spoon resting in it. "He's been eatin' a wee bit better since your gardener fellow came t'see him."
Faolan watched them both with some vacancy behind his eyes. He could see Ellandra there, but wasn't quite sure he wasn't simply dreaming the whole scene before him. He made a small noise, lifting his left hand, the red frayed ribbon still tied there, for the cup of soup. He was depressed, not dead, and was still somewhat hungry. Plus, he did want to earn some of the pudding his father was promising.

"Ah, so that's. . . that's where Elst and Aoi went earlier, then. . . I'm not surprised, somehow," Ellandra said quietly, taking the soup - tears still in her eyes - and taking over the care of Faolan from where Keagan had left off. She paused once to lean close enough to place a kiss to his forehead, brushing hers against his afterward, before going back to what she had been doing. All the while, Rhian hummed the same, slightly off-key, soothing melody that had nearly become background noise to Ellandra over the past few weeks, though its tune took the form of a lullaby-ish sound.
