 A long time ago…
is how most good horror stories begin, and this one is no exception. You see, in this time long lost, there was a merchant’s daughter. She was a shy delicate thing, living with her father and his dreams of grandeur. Upon his hearing that a Lord was looking for a wife, he was quick to marry her off, hoping to gain a title or riches. He lost his life instead. She was forced stayed with her new husband, who provided to be a ruthless tyrant of a man, one with no qualms for abusing his wife, and eventually, she sold her soul for the chance to kill him, and be the mother of a new kind of demons called Vampires…Here is where the new story begins… She’s still only just an adult, 23 years old after centuries. Now what is your purpose here…are you here to accompany her in her captivity of the night, slay the cursed one where she stands, a city dweller who still knows why the castle is a place of Hell, or perhaps…someone who just happened into this twisted tale?
It is now the modern times, a world different from the castle's age. No more are you taken by horses, but by faster and faster cars, and your life hangs on a bullet's edge, and not a sword's blade. A castle stands alone near the growing settlements of the modern world, despite every attempt. Inside time appears to have stopped, there is no electricity, the walls are lined with tapestries, and the world is trapped in the time when it’s Lord died… The Ater Mater Dolorosa is now your hostess…welcome.
The rest of the story is up to you...

Secondary Rules:
1. You are not God. You may very well be immortal, but people can still hit you. Hunters are trained to deal with vampire reflexes, remember that. 2. No otakus, Mary Sue's, and Gary Stu's will be accepted. You are in Europe, and I expect the characters to reflect that, or have a story to match it. 3. No one-liner posts. A few sentences is acceptable on occasion, but try for more, even if it's just character thoughts, trust me, it adds to the roleplay. 4. Remember your character's place in the food chain. You would not smart off to the your country's leader. So if there is a well-known experienced character, he/she is not unknown to your character.

Profile Skeleton: (Please do not leave this set-up)
Username: Name: Age: Station: Personality: Alliance: Background: Image link:
Accepted Profiles: Username: Poetic Lilly Name: Esmeralda Tshilaba Tempus Age: 23 Station: Lady of the Castle Personality: Esmeralda is an quiet woman, caused by years alone in the castle, and being raised in a time where noise was inappropriate. However, she stands to defend her ‘children,’ or any women, chattel or otherwise, at a moment’s notice. She remains aloof with anyone, and chooses actions over words any day. Alliance: Herself Background: Esmeralda has been alive for many years, ever since her deal to escape the abuse she once suffered. After her husband’s…passing, if you will, she chose to remain in the castle and try to contain the curse, but she could not. All bloodlines lead to her, but many believe the original to be a ruthless man, ironically not unlike her husband, and she prefers they keep that thought. But in the castle, she remains, choosing not to stir up trouble as time passes, and the villages die. Image link: Esmeralda Tshilaba TempusUsername: LordNarhan Name: Sebastian Harrington Age: 25 Station: Learning Vampire Personality: Sebastian is a very kind soul. He is caring and he listens well to those around him. Normally he is calm and collect, he has a very short fuse and firey temper. His temper is normally only revealed when a situation gets out of hand. Then we come to his fear. When Sebastian is scared it is rare but its effects can be painful. Alliance: Those who grant him shelter and those he considers friends. Background: Sebastian only became a vampire over a hundred years ago. Since then he has been wandering aimlessly across the planet looking for somewhere permanent where he will be accepted. Whenever he found somewhere. The bliss only lasted short term, he was eventually discovered and kicked out. Image link: Sebastian Harrington Username: Alexandria Rowen Name: Lana Denton Age: Forever 24 Station: A Kind Hearted Vampire Personality: Lana is quiet and shy, but if the situation calls upon it, she can be very outspoken, defending herself, and those she cares about. In tense situations she is very level-headed thinking things through before acting. Lana also has a heart of gold, caring and kind, and always wanting to help those in need. Alliance: Herself and those she calls ‘friend’ Background: Lana grew up in a castle somewhere in Ireland (she forgets, it’s been so long). She was a princess or something of the sort. As a young adult Lana had a tendency to sneak out at night to be with the locals down in the village pub. On one of her visits to the pub, Lana ran into a rather dashing, but mysterious looking man. Unbeknownst to her, he was a Vampire. She soon found herself drawn to the man, she fell in love. Leaving her home to be with him, she went to his home, and once she had gone inside, she blacked out. When she had come to, days had gone by and her lover gone, she discovered herself craving human blood. After wandering about (and quenching her thirst) for weeks, she learns of what she had become. After centuries of practice, Lana has found that she can control her thirst, for she finds her bloodlust revolting. She feeds only on the old, those who will soon pass from the world. Lana has become a wanderer, finding solace in helping those who need it. She had guarded her secret well, and plans on continuing to do so. She has no place to call home. In the centuries she has lived, something eats at her slow-beating heart; the need to find love. Someone who she can call her own, like the man who made her what she is today. Image link: Lady DentonUsername: iPandyriffic Name: Maerwynn Kynton Age: 23 Station: Noble of the Castle Personality: Maerwynn acts like a should, and never speaks unless she is spoken. She acts aloof towards people that were once a lower status than her, and she doesn't make friends very easily. She still has an affinity with the "olden days" and she wears beautiful medieval dresses that she once wore in court (they were mended multiple times). She can be vain at times, and always stops to look into a mirror to see how she looks. Inside, she is loving, but being alive for long with no one to love has driven it deep inside. Alliance: Her Lady Background: Maerwynn was one of the first, after her Lady's turning. She loved her new-found immortality, and her superhuman abilities. She continued to be loyal to her Lady, because the Lady was the one who made Maerwynn what she is now. Her husband, who hated the Lady for her choice, died because he wasn't turned. Maerwynn was devastated, and she wallowed in misery for many years, attemtping to kill herself with no avail. She finally moved on, although memories sometimes bring up tears. She now searches for someone to fill in the gap that her husband left. Image link: Maerwynn KyntonUsername: Metal-Ridley Name: Grey "Smile" Edgeworth Age: 24 Station: Just a GOD annoying hunter Personality: Grey is the type of hunter to mock everything, especially life. Since he absolutely doesn’t take life seriously, death doesn’t scare him either; of course though he won’t do anything suicidal unless he needs to, but he still doesn’t fear his own death. His motto is actually “Smile! Life’s a joke anyway”. Grey usually acts on his own, for his own benefit. He won’t mind killing off someone or betraying anyone if, in the end, it ends up being at his advantage. Although, even if he acts for himself, if someone would get close enough to him for him to consider the other a friend, he could prove to be a loyal ally. Alliance: Hunters Background: Grey Edgeworth was the product of an unwanted birth between two young teenagers too drunk to give a damn about protections, though didn’t want to resolve to abortion. Both his mother and father had only been around each other two or three times before they ended up hammered drunk in a common friend’s party, and ended up having sex. The next thing they knew, the girl was pregnant. Both of them, naïve as they were, agreed to keep the baby. They started dating and a few months later got married. The only problem is, both of them were extremely irresponsible people, not to mention inexperienced. When Grey was born, his mother didn’t take care of him at all: she left her own mother do all the raising. Unfortunately, five years later, a car accident took both of Grey’s mother’s parents, leaving the young couple and their son on their own. From there, the child’s past has been tainted by a dysfunctional family, lead by lies, cheating, alcohol and eventually violence and drug abuse. It didn’t take too long before both unworthy parents started to take all their anger on a defenseless Grey. When the boy finally turned 10, he went on his own to the local ninjutsu dojo, where a caring and nice sensei took him under his wing and taught him whatever was needed for the kid to defend himself. Although the sensei couldn’t quite do anything about Grey’s situation, he still took him for a smaller fee for training. Grey trained everyday with the sensei, giving him the opportunity to improve faster, and soon become one of the top students. A few years had passed and Grey now became a better ninja. One night, as Grey walked back home, he witnessed from afar a man being coldly murdered a few streets away from his house. Grey rushed to the victim, only too late, and found out his sensei had been killed and bitten on the neck. Terrified and broken, Grey rushed back to his house, knowing that the man he admired so much might become a nightwalker, if the stories were true. As he came home, his parents blamed him for being late and went back to their daily abuse, but this time, Grey snapped. He replied to his father’s hit by breaking the man’s neck; he then grabbed a knife and murdered his mother in front of tall mirror in the living room. Grey looked up and saw himself grinning with the murder weapon in his hand. The boy ran away from his home, from his town, and grew up until now on his own as a mercenary. Being a solitaire and lightly brain damaged from the beatings, he separated his personality in two: Grey and the mercenary “Smile”. Grey only living and speaking in his head, “Smile” being the one everyone sees. Image link: COMING

~Lady Tempus~Esmeralda sighed the heavy sigh of one held down by years of hard work, and a life of agony. The sigh to an outsider would seem very odd indeed on a young woman who seemed still at her peak, but she had been at this peak for many a year, and thus time’s grasp on her was stronger than almost any human. Her stance was tall as she glided down the hallways with the elegance trained into the ladies of her birth time, the silken dress barely caressing the ground as she moved. Out of the corners of her eyes, she could see her servants working around her, while not daring to touch the Castle’s Lady. She was their Mistress, nothing more held them together. Her hand brushed a tapestry that hung on the wall to keep the chill out, then she paused at a balcony. The red of her silken gown standing out against the darkness of the brick, and the moonlight spilled over her. The balcony gave her a view of the city growing near her castle, but never daring to come close enough to touch her domain, and there she stood, knowing that tonight would be different, that tonight she would have a visitor.

Sebastian limped into the town that resideded near a castle, the castle that he had walked miles to see. He had walked so far that the sole's of his shoes had worn through and his feet were bloody and blistered. Each step now caused him pain, but now his journey was nearly over and his reward? Hopefully a new pair of shoes and some lodging. This thought caused Sebastian to chuckle insatiably. He stopped for a moment as his distance between the castle became between a two miles and one. Sebastian gazed up into the sky and stared at the moon. The stars glinted around the moon as if the sky was a face, the moon its eye and the stars are freckles. What a stupid metaphor He thought just as the castle entrance came into view.
He walked over to the large, ornate door and knocked loudly agaisnt it. The sound that reverberated back at him was almost scary. If he wasn't a hardened traveller he would have probably turned tail and fled. He had come to this castle, due to the numerous rumours he had heard regarding the Lady of the castle. Apparently, she had experience with people like Sebastian.((Edited.))

Lana wrapped her fur coat closer to her body. Her heels clicked against the pavement of the sidewalk. She was closer to her destination now. She looked up at where the castle was located, the oldest thing in the area. She was hoping for a safe haven there. She was tired of people. Tired of humans, and their hate filled ways. She had never met another one of her kind, not since... well she didn't like to think about it.
She was ready to be accepted. Ready to meet others like her.
Lana was exhausted. She had traveled far, she wasn't one for the modern advances of the world, so she had hitch-hiked, and walked most of the way, sleeping and eating little. She arrived at the door of the castle, and saw that there was someone else there."And here I thought I'd be arriving here alone." She said to the lone man standing at the door.

~Lady Tempus~Esmeralda blinked in surprise, and looked down at her two new visitors to her humble abode. Though in truth, few would call her rich and beautiful castle humble, but for an immortal, perhaps to this immortal who had seen the turns of centuries, who knew what her eyes saw in this castle. She let her gown skirt the ground as she glided down to the impressive doors that blocked the world from her home. With strength surprising for her size, she opened one of the doors, and looked out at her two visitors. ”I am the Lady Tempus. Please state your name, and business here,” Her soft-spoken words were filled the sternness befitting her station. [[My apologies for the wait. Thank you for your patience.]]

- Grey "Smile" Edgeworth - ___Somewhere in the back woods, near the old castle, a shadow moved about. Swiftly passing between trees, the grass shuffling under his feet, the one wicked hunter made his way through the thick vegetation and headed towards Lady Tempus' castle on his own. Quick feet finally made their way out of the sea of trees, and the dark mercenary was standing in front of Tempus's hideout. Slightly huffing and catching his breath, Grey, or "Smile" as most people called him, reminded himself of his latest mission: hunt down the one who started the vampire plague, Esmeralda Tempus.___Taking in his lungs a deep breath, the ninja-like man cracked his knuckles and frowned, his eyes still locked on the castle. Suddenly, Smile raised his arms in the air and in half a second brought them back to his waist, nodding once. "Aaaaaaaah yup! That's the place, for sure!" The man thought out loud, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. "It... Sure is. Now why don't you get in, and do what you were hired to do?" His own mind asked, as if someone was trapped in his head. "Well, obviously 'cause there's no door, d'uh. See?" Smile pointed with a hand, as if his mind was actually his friend and standing beside him. "That's because we're not in front of the castle, you twit! We're on the castle's side, and no one but you would put the entrance of a home on the damn side!" "Hey! Puttin' a door on the side is the best idea ya can have, mkay? First, people have to look for the entrance, meaning ya don't have to deal with damn pesky salesmen on Saturday mornings." "They'll just go aro--... You know what, screw this. I'm not having this conversation with you again. Now, how about you just get in through the window?" His obviously irritated mind suggested to the oblivious retard.___Taking his own suggestion, Smile walked closer to the home and examined a window. Bringing a hand to his chin, passing a finger from one side of the spray-painted smile on his mask to the other, the merc was thinking of a way to enter the mansion through that window he was starring. When his index finger reached the other end of his fake smile, Smile snapped his fingers as an idea popped up in his head. The man in black bent down and picked up a decent sized rock, which he quickly and violently tossed at the window, shattering it. Grey smiled under his mask, contemplating his work with satisfaction. "Genius." "Idiot."___Reaching up and climbing in the window, Edgeworth flipped in the room, landing on one knee. He quickly stood up, arms in the air as if he was an Olympic gymnast. "Huzzah!" He exclaimed, his head only returning one long sigh. "Oh, how sneaky you are. No one heard you, for sure..." "Damn straight! I'm a ninja, dude. I'm sneaky like raptor!" "You're more of a merc than a ninja: you don't have a lord. And... Raptors are extinct." "Aaaaand that's exactly why ya never hear about 'em.” Grey responded, standing on the same spot as when he entered the place, scanning the room with his brown eyes.- ... - _

Lana turned at the sound of the voice. Lady Tempus stood at the door. Lana gave a small bow of the head in respect. "Lady Tempus. I am Lady Lana Denton." She said in her quiet, yet strong voice. "I am here because I have heard that you might possibly take in those like me. Someone who is rather different than most. I have traveled far to meet you." Lana hoped that she would not be turned away. For she had no where else to go. She could always go back home, but then, she would still be far from any who might be like her.

xxxxxxxxxxxMaerwynn Kyndor:Lady Loveless "You look beautiful today," Maerwynn said to herself as she fixed her hair in the mirror. She rose from her seat and opened the door of her chambers and strode into the castle hallways. It smelled ancient in the castle, and Maerwynn enjoyed the scent. She could hear the trail of her elaborate dress slide over the rough stone floors. reaching the front doors, Maerwynn noticed the Lady conversing with an outside, most likely wanting to stay here in the castle, as most vampires who travelled here did. She approached the Lady, curtsying in front of her, and waiting for her to speak, seeing as she was of higher rank then Maerwynn.

~Lady Tempus~Esmeralda looked at the visitor with no small amount of surprise. It had been quite a while since someone had looked for refuge in her home with her and Maerwynn. She guided the woman in, "But of course, come in, come in..." Her soft voice crooned. She smiled kindly at Maerwynn, when she saw her. "Hello, my dear, it seems we have gained-" Then the shattering crash of the rock hitting her window echoed into her ears. "Quickly, go. Maerwynn, get yourself and our guest to the safe room. I must investigate," She ordered, before hurrying towards the noise, vanishing quickly into the shadows around the stairwell.

xxxxxxxxxxxMaerwynn Kyndor:Lady Loveless "I shall, my lady," Maerwynn said softly. "If you would come with me please," she said to the woman that was standing outside of the magnificent doors. Maerwynn then turned around with a swoosh of her gown and proceeded to the stair case. There were many guestrooms on the second level, and Maerwynn just had to choose which one she wanted her and the lady's guest. She kept looking behind to see if the woman was following her in good measure. When they arrived at the second level, she chose the first door and opened it. They entered into a lavish room with mahogany furniture and a light blue bedspread on the four poster canopy bed. "Here is where you will be stay. Pardon my manners, but how long do you plan on staying here with us?" Maerwynn said politely.
