Maybe after the starters are introduced, when the intrepid Evomon-trainer-to-be goes out on his/her first adventure, they spot a legendary evomon that's only seen in fables, then the rest of the plot could involve trying to find that evomon...or something...

Don't forget the older evomon scientist who adds the hero with his or hers vast amounts of knowledge. The hero also needs a rival.

Anyways.
Once upon a time, not too long ago, on November 02, 2007 the Evomon started to appear.
Legend says that the Gambino-Gino separation explosion caused a powerful surge of G'hi Energy that the G'hi Energy (Gaia's Life Energy) started to out-pour in different regions of the world. These outpourings started to concentrate and concentrate on different objects that it made them change their internal structure and caused the phenomena of Evolution in an accelerated pace.
It is believed that any object that has an attracting aura to them (which can mean that they had a significant past, something that revolutionary, etc.) and that is in the rang of Gaia's gravity and atmosphere, may well be a candidate of turning into an Evolving Item.
These Evolving items contain creatures to them and that's why we refer EIs as Evomon.
It is believed that since the G'hi energy manipulated the Animated and gave them Animation with good or bad intentions....the Evomon are related to the Animated whereas the EIs appeared first and later the Animated.

What about the side kicks, the slight love interest, though neither will ever admit their feelings because they're either afraid to or are just not fully aware of their feelings.
Then their is the older but for some strange reason slightly less mature one who provides comic relief with his strange outbursts of insta-romance for every pretty/good-looking women/man in earshot. And this person sadly/scary as it seems is in charge of providing food whenever they camp outside.
That's all I got (yay? for blatant Pokemon copying?)

Id rather see something more original then copying a plot straight from Pokemon for an evomon plot...
What if the main trainer saw The Nightmare on his first night out with his evomon [working from what I said above] and fell in league with Team Shadow, until he/she realized their nefarious plans and switched sides to Team Light....
Or would Team Shining sound better?
or I could be spitballin' here and no-body likes it...
